We've been working on this release for some time now as we wanted to release it with the largest language support we could provide. 'We Are Stars' exists in other formats beyond our VR experience and is shown in planetariums around the world and, as such has been translated into several languages. We have worked on adding these supported languages and also included subtitle support in English.

Subtitles
Subtitle support has been added in English and can be accessed from the main UI (The button labeled as "S"). Simply select that, it will go green and subtitles will be displayed.
Subtitle support is a difficult thing to add to a 360 degree 3D film as it's very difficult to know if the position of the subtitles are overlapping with the 3D or whether the subtitles are being displayed where the user is looking. For this reason we have placed the subtitles relatively close and locked them to the persons view. This doesn't provide the most comfortable viewing position but does give readable and relocatable subtitles.
Other Improvements
We have spent time optimizing the code, including support for Oculus Touch controllers on Steam and updating all the available plugins and Unity3D builds.
These updates should also help to improve the stability anf smooth running of 'We Are Stars'
Why aren't more common languages supported
The way we get the translations is very different to many other films. 'We Are Stars' is VR film but also a planetarium film which means that it goes to science centers to be shown in there planetariums all around the world. We create the show with an English VO and then each planetarium that wants the show will get a copy but often they want a version in their language. We then work with them to provide a language version for them. They will provide the VO and we mix it in to the original score and SFX. This is why there is such a range of Languages on offer and also why some of the more commons ones aren't present.
This is also one of the reasons why more language are likely to be added over time :)
Oculus Store and Viveport versions
Both Oculus Store and Viveport versions will be arriving very soon. We release first on Steam as it has a very good beta program and community if there are any problems. If there proves to be no problems with the Steam version then the Oculus store and Viveport versions will receive the same update next Tuesday.
Final Thoughts
This is the first release of the multi language version of 'We Are Stars'. We are an English based studio so if you notice any issues with the language selection options please let us know and we will fix them as soon as we can.
