What's new in the Goathernet Update (most commonly known as 0.5.1 update)?

HUGE news: There's a new and improved network arbitrage in place! This means that there won't be lag differences between client and server players (those joining the matches, and those hosting them). Now, shooting is waaaay more responsive and satisfying for all the bullet weapons (which excludes Fus Ro Beh because it only shoots air... special, dragonborn air). The experience of playing Goat of Duty will now be better for everygoat!
There's no more pushback while shooting the Nailgun. NAIL THEM. NAIL THEM ALL.
We've adjusted the mouth of the flamethrower to have a more streamlined opening, thus allowing you to see better where you shoot at! We care for your vision.
Thanosed bugs

Fixed a tremendous drop in performance after playing several consecutive matches. The responsible: an infamous memory leak, now eradicated.
We fixed the bug that was resetting goat points in some cases. We truly apologize to those affected by this issue. We value your time playing Goat of Duty and your effort in climbing the leaderboards to become the G.O.A.T.
Corrected a goat point issue consisting of showing 0 points for some players in the scoreboard and the lobby. That was a lie.
Fixed a spawn in mid-air bug that was randomly spawning some goats in mid-air, sometimes even outside of the map. IT'S RAINING GOATS. HALLELUJAH, IT'S RAINING GOATS.
Goat rid of a random crash while idling in the main menu.
Fixed the missing chart and timer in the training celebration screen. Now they are not missing. They are unmissing.
Increased particle performance in the main menu. Their latest concert wasn't as good, so we practiced with them, thus becoming a truly fine band! (sorry)
A random crash during Markhor tag is now fixed. Thank GoD.
Other minor, mysterious fixes...
ONE MORE THING!
This new update is focused on preparing the servers for a new influx of goats... So arm up and stretch your legs on the goatfield, 'cause something's gonna happen really soon!

We are overwhelmed by the number of players that have joined us during the last 24 hours! Thank you for staying at home and helping prevent the expansion of COVID-19 by goating around in our quirky FGS (first goat shooter). We encourage you to be active both in Got of Duty's Discord Server and the Steam forums, where we will answer all your doubts, suggestions and questions about the game.
Following yesterday's #PlayWithTheDevs event (which was the most viewed streaming on Steam worldwide for a while!), we have created a daily event calendar for this week! We want to gather all of you in the most active hours of Steam in Europe, where the COVID-19 is currently more present, to play Goat of Duty together.
We are also holding more #PlayWithTheDevs streamings in the following days. You can check out all the events in the calendar down below, but these are the events we are doing this week:

An original new map: Battlegoats, with its own Fus Ro Arena version!
Two majestic sci-fi towers facing each other, and in the middle, a huge, empty pit. It looks like the perfect place for cybernetically enhanced goats to wreak havoc. Just so you know, our main source of inspiration for Battlegoats is Facing Worlds, the classic map from Unreal Tournament! Many hours were spent on that floating island. Ah, the memories...
New Domination mode!
3 areas.

1 winner.

In this new game mode, two goat teams have to compete against each other, capturing three areas around the map. The team that controls these zones during the longest time wins. All the maps, including Battlegoats, can be played in this game mode. Simple. Easy. GG.
Other stuff included in the Goatmas Celebration Update (0.4.1)

Domination Goat Points count on the global leaderboard as the other game modes, while also having its own leaderboard. You may be a NOOB in other modes, but Domination could be your time to SHINE.
New entries into Goatipedia related to Domination Mode. Read them, please.
Tweaks on the ranking algorithm for some game modes. I'm a goat, don't ask me how this works.
We heard you: you told us the easiest bots were too hard, so we lowered their intelligence. Now, they should be more manageable.
Fixed Bugs

When you open a leaderboard, your score was not highlighted and focused correctly. Not cool when you want to brag.
Chinese/Japanese and Russian characters on leaderboards names were displayed as ??????. Weird.
Goats spawned in the middle of nowhere if they wait until the lobby timer reaches 0. Spooooky.
A typo on the ranks score: when you lost points, your new score was shown as "--X". That's not a number, so we figured out it didn't make sense.
This is our last update of the year, but behold: 2020 will be the goatiest of years, with new content, features, and events coming to Goat of Duty! Stay tuned to know more about what's to come.

Today we bring you a few fixes to improve this fast-paced experience and let you become the authentic leader with the highest GOAT Points ever!
So, being blunt, here are all the fixes included in this new Goatfix 0.3.2:

In Team Deathmatch, now players can correctly see their and enemy rank scores from matches and scoreboard
Rank point now is correctly assigned to host if the clients quit and remain alone into the match.
Fixed a rare bug where goat score points are reset if you play a second or more games into the same match.
Fixes on leaderboard navigation. Now switching between your neighborhood, Top100 and friends do not lose focus anymore.
Leaderboard page layout fixes.
And remember, there'll be many new upcoming contents before the full launch on January... don't forget to take a look at the goatmap to see what's coming... We ensure that there will be a before and an after on goat shooters!🔫🐐

Hello, our beautiful goats!
Your favourite horn-based multiplayer shooter today sees the launch of a massive ‘Community Update’, featuring scores of new goatures suggested by all of your feedback and bringing a fresh competitive element to play.
Most notably, this update brings in a ranking system and global/per game mode leaderboards to add an extra layer of competition to proceedings. You will now receive GOAT Points at the end of each encounter based on the skill you demonstrated in play. GOAT Scores for each mode are then combined to provide a Global GOAT Score, enabling you to see just the comparison to the world’s best goat! (is that you?)
And hold your horses...I mean, goats, as there are new more features included in the update, based on your precious feedback!

Private Matches - You can now create and invite your friends in a private match.
Sound Occlusion - Play benefits from more believable and realistic sounds.
Joining an ongoing match will give you now five seconds of freecam before joining the game so you can early understand the game mode and map you're taking on.
Gentle host disconnection - You won't be no more kicked to main menu but gentle accompanied to the celebration screen.
Find match feature.
Maps and weapons optimisations and improvements.
Various bug fixes.
You will be able to boost your GOAT Score if, in team-based modes, you are part of the winning team, or in other modes if you make it onto the podium. But, be careful, cause if you disconnect before the end of the match, you will also lose points!
There are four main factors you shall keep in mind for your final GOAT points at the end of each game:

How many kills you scored: the more you kill other players, the more points you gain.
How many times you were killed: you lose points the more times you die.
How much of the match you actually played (to balance out late goaters).
Keep an eye on the match's average GOAT score: You will gain more points by killing a more experienced player, while getting killed by ‘rookies’ will lose more points.
(In Markhor games, only kills made by the Markhor count towards GOAT score.)

New Game Mode: Markhor Tag
Do goats dream of becoming a Markhor when they grow up? Markhor Tag is the new game mode that will let goats all around the world to become this beautiful animal for a few minutes. When you become the Markhor Goat, you can kill any goat just by ramming them. But, be careful, because the rest of the herd will be chasing you and once you die… your killer will become the Markhor Goat. The one with the most kills as the Markhor Goat will be the one to be crowned in this crazy, new game mode.
And by the way, this is what a Markhor looks like in real life. LOOK AT IT. IT'S GLORIOUS.

New Map: Death Valley
The biggest map up to date is also the most complex and versatile. Cliffs? You goat them. Jumping into the void? Check. We even have a half abaaaaa-ndoned building that will remind you of Horror Well, but this one is more horizontal and specially designed for ambushing other goats. Do not miss the art on the walls by our very own Baaaaaa-nksy!
Advanced sensitivity options
You asked and we delivered. If you enable the advanced sensitivity option you will be able to set the horizontal and vertical sensitivity factor to 1:1 and split the values per axis
New Features

New tips & tricks: We want you to become the best goat on the battlefield and you will have all the information to do so. Information is power!
New Goatipedia content: Game modes have their own section on the Goatipedia. They will contain all the info you need plus some tricks personally tested by our brightest goats. No goats were harmed during this process, we guarantee it.
Changes & improvements

We have lowered the AI’s ramming in the lowest difficulties so those baaaaaaa-stards won’t be chasing you relentlessly.
CPU optimization improvements
The goatbots AI has been improved so they have a bigger goater side instead of a robotic one. (Honestly? They will behave more like humans… or human goats)
Better AI pathfinding on the Fus Ro Arena Mode. Camp no more! Now AI goats won’t be waiting for you at an exact spot to ram you out the map but, in the meantime, they will be more unpredictable.
Goatbots now drop their weapons once they are killed.
Fixes

Fixed the bug concerning the sawgun mines. Now, ramming a goatnado will trigger the expected damage and effect
Fixed blood on the camera after an explosion (sometimes it didn’t appear correctly)
Fix the grenade launcher bug that occasionally caused a double kill on the same target
Fix a faulty effect showing a hologram of a throwing weapon by a dead enemy that didn’t disappear after catching it

Features

Two new goatstumes (Narugoat and Sailor Goat). Does anybody love Japanese culture?
Added Japanese language: baaaaaaa-rigato gozaimasu!
GameMode Vote system: we have implemented a match mode vote, giving a 3 points vote to the host, so he can have more weight on the control of its own lobby.
Random game mode option on vote screen. Bleating intensifies!
New tooltips. So you can learn more about goats than anybody else in the world!
Improvements and changes

Added disconnected host messages for clients. No more leaving without saying goodbye!
Few lighting updates so goats will look even more beautiful!
Improved UI layout on some screens
Small gameplay tweaks. Ram is more responsive so you better start using those horns!
Floating damage text animation now starts where the hit lands

Various localization fixes thanks to our goat writers

We are publishing our first big goatdate (update) today! We are introducing several changes, fixes, features, and tweaks to Goat of Duty, including a new map for you to goat around. Many of these additions are a direct answer to your feedback on both Discord and Steam, so we have to thank you all for being part of such a crazy community, and to contribute to the present and future of Goat of Duty.
Here's everything you can find in our biggest Goatdate yet:
Goatdate 0.1.1
New features

A completely new map: Slaughter House! A claustrophobic, gory location where bloodthirsty goats fight against each other for supremacy.
Kills feed: Now you can see who killed you and with which weapon. Now you can avenge your fallen goatself!
You can now propose a team swap with F1. If an enemy goat presses F1 within 15 secs, you will both change teams, TRAITOR.
Change/Improvements

Improved performance on all maps, including FPS stability.
Gameplay balance tweaks:

Improved quality of life and usability of the lobby. Now it will be more fun to goat around before matches!
Improved goatstume screen in lobby. You can read now the name of the highlighted costume. Information is power.
Highlight on-fire player in scoreboard. You can now track down that son of a goat and end their streak.
Level design tweaks on Future Farm: Less camping on top of the tower, more goat-to-goat close action
Small tweakings on Fus Arena levels, design and level-wise. Goatimizing is our area of expertise.
Default quality settings reduced to accommodate lower-tier PCs. You can now play with wooden computers (not really)
Improved lighting on all maps. Goats are more glorious than ever before (Did we do this joke already?)
You cannot swap savings now, cheeky cheater.
Added some sound effects on UI events. Epic.
Additional minor improvements and tweaks. No time to explain them here.
Fixes

Fixed the MAX FPS issue. You can now play at unlimited FPS. FREEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
Fix ragdoll jumpad replication states to improve jumpings, which are extremely important for goats.
Random crash fix on goatnado. No more ragenados.
Crash fix when joining a match while a player ended a killstreak.
Achievement "Stealth as a goat" fixed. Now it triggers properly. We suggest unlocking this Achievement with Solid Goat for +Style points.
Fixed a bug where blood splats and corpse explosions did not occur properly. You can now enjoy the goriest goat-action without censorship.
Fixed several Fus Ro Arena bugs. A programmer wanted to keep them in-game, but then he took an arrow to the knee.
Fixes on Future Farm navigation + space optimization for goats. Don't try playing it as a human.
Fixed a freeze issue when in "Training". No more stage fright.
Fixed a bug where hosts could not see the VFX of the Fus Ro Beh of other bots and players. Do not stop Fur Ro Behing other goats, it's funny.
There are still several big updates coming your way in the next months with new content and features, including a brand-new game mode we cannot wait to reveal, so stay tuned and keep enjoying Goat of Duty with us!

Improvements

Goats now level up with cooler sounds, special effects and animations.
The goat interface during Team Deathmatch... matches, is shown as intended.
You can now change goatstumes until the countdown starts, don't forget to dress up before playing! (or not, who cares, you are a goat).
Lightning improved in all the maps. Goats are more glorious than ever before.
Bug Fixes

Fixed crash taking place when inviting friends, you can now invite them to your matches and wreck their goat asses without fear.
Fixed bug where the pause menu would stay on screen if launched during the beginning of the match. Now it doesn't happen. Because it is fixed.
Health bonuses work as intended, now a 20% health bonus is actually 20% and not 19.99999999999%.
Now you cannot bind controls to worthless keys like F4, or assign two actions to the same key.
You cannot longer invite your friends to Training Mode, because it is a single goat mode and therefore, you can only play alone.
The celebration song at the end of the matches is more awesome now.
The player with the best K/D ratio is now highlighted at the end of the match, not like before when random goats were shown. Not anymore, NOOBS.
Additionally, we are aware that the Unlimited FPS option in MAX FPS is not working as intended, and we are working on fixing it for the next update. Meanwhile, you can use the 240 fps option to play Goat of Duty at the highest FPS quality.
Thank you for all the feedback and ideas you've given us on Steam and Discord, especially in the tech_support and suggestions channels. We are fixing many of these bugs thanks to your comments, as well as implementing new concepts into Goat of Duty that you are interested in. We encourage all of you to keep sharing your feedback with us to keep evolving Goat of Duty.
