Hey friends! In the many years since Katie and I started this little goofy game in our bedroom at our apartment in San Diego, y'all have supported us through thick and thin. We haven't forgotten about the weird little coffee game that made us able to start Whitethorn Games and get to where we are now, so here's a totally free major update that adds, among other things, a total overhaul of new art throughout the entire game, a new boss fight, new level, tons of new chiptunes, more recipes, more jokes, and even more zany nonsense.
We hope you'll check it out - and yes, it's still just a touch buggy - the engine is from 2015 and it's discontinued, so please bear with us :D
We hope the dozens of hours of laughs for $6 is worth tolerating a few hiccups, and we hope you'll keep supporting the rest of our catalog.

Create, manage, and customize a coffee shop in this satirical tycoon game where you sell overpriced coffee, abuse employees, and watch your customers slowly lose their sanity. Beans: Fair Trade Edition features massive updates to the already impressive offering including new graphics, AI, and quality of life improvements. While Beans: Fair Trade Edition is less buggy than ever before, it still retains the rough charm that fans fondly remember.

Totally replaced all animations, art, backgrounds, and images throughout the entire game

Achievements Fix, New Office
Hey all, Just pushed an achievements fix for the Windows version. Sorry for the slow updates. We've just moved into a new office and are trying to take off as a developer. That's kept us a bit busy, so unfortunately Beans hasn't gotten the love it deserves. I hope the cheevo fix

Here are the first round of bugfixes! A few silent fixes will slide in between now and Sept 15, when 1.2 is due. Thanks for sticking with us! Look forward to free content on Halloween!
Bug Fixes

Corrected an issue with incorrect level warping.
Corrected some creative spelling of 'sandwich'.
Attempted to fix an appliance sticking issue in the research list on certain resolutions. May persist for some users. Will hopefully have a more comprehensive fix for this in 1.2
Made the Garden Repurposer actually make things.
Recliners and Sofas and Chairs Oh My! Now triggers properly.
Removed a broken recipe from the Downtown Level.
Fixed an issue where customers in the Downtown Level would not leave the restaurant.
Fixed a pathfinding issue with Rose in the last level.
Fixed a scrolling issue with the pause button.
Fixed an issue where customers could spend themselves into a soft lock in the downtown level.
Fixed a graphical error where mouse indicator blips would appear infinitely at a zero timescale.
Restauranteur achievement now triggers properly.
Garbage Day achievement should now trigger properly.
Invisible Drone issue preventing some players from completing the Mall
Level should now be resolved.
Fixed a text overflow issue in the downtown level.
Fixed a sprite stretching issue in the customer inspector.
Shortened overflowing decor descriptions in the University level.
Made the cell phone charger smaller than a grand piano.
Fixed an issue with cutscenes in the downtown level.
Removed a broken recipe from the University Level.
Fixed a pathfinding issue present in all levels.
Corrected outdated furniture descriptions.
Introduced, then fixed a bunch of bugs on the level select screen.
Steam Overlay and Screenshot features now functioning as intended.
Resolved certain crash-to-desktop scenarios on older hardware.
Removed gluten and GMO ingredients from many recipes.
Features

Added a level select feature from the main menu.
Added a much-requested pause feature.
Added sandbox mode from level select screen. Levels will last forever until you manually quit.
Probably added like, at least 30 new bugs.
Balance and Tuning

Clarified goals in final level.
Increased speed of final level slightly.
Made changes to the frequency with which customers lose their minds.
Miscellaneous

Decreased overall customer rage.
Corrected numerous typos and grammar errors.
Level select no longer mocks you.
