Can't believe it's been this long, but glad to still be in business!
To celebrate this, I am permanently dropping the price of the game to $4.99 / 4.99 €, which is half the launch price (or even 70% cheaper than the original price if you consider inflation!)
I have also applied the maximum discount possible for this week so it's basically "cheape than free" (if you've played the game you should get it)
We're still working to bring you some new translations of the new game but they are in proofreading stage currently and didn't make it for this anniversary. I didn't want to publish a half working translation. If you'd like to help with those or a new language, feel free to register!

- Graphical changes inherited from the mobile & PS5 versions.

- Export now uses YYC for best performance.
In case of any trouble, be sure to use the "1.1.2" branch which is the version before this update.

Hi, After submitting the title for re-review with the Windows version of the game through Proton (as mentioned in the previous news), Demetrios is now reported as fully compatible with the Steam Deck! (NB: My newest game BROK the InvestiGator is also fully compatible) Enjoy :)

Steam Deck / Linux version retired: use Proton instead
Hello, Recently Valve checked compatibility with Demetrios on Steam Deck and I was surprised to see it reported as only just "playable" when the game is supposed to have 100% compatibility with gamepads. It turns out the Steam Deck automatically picks up the native Linux version

Recently Valve checked compatibility with Demetrios on Steam Deck and I was surprised to see it reported as only just "playable" when the game is supposed to have 100% compatibility with gamepads.
It turns out the Steam Deck automatically picks up the native Linux version if there's one, and this version has issues: gamepads don't work correctly and I've got recently some user reports that it has missing libraries on the latest Ubuntu version.
Even if I upgraded my project to the latest GameMaker version (which is a technical challenge), I have realized the latest Linux export in GameMaker doesn't support most gamepads (including Xbox) correctly, which is the reason BROK doesn't have a Linux native build either. (although I still made one available on itch.io)
On the other hand, the Windows version runs perfectly on Linux with Proton, including gamepads and the Steam Deck.
When Demetrios was originally released in 2016, there was no such thing as Proton compatibility.It doesn't make sense to leave a half broken version that I can't really fix, which also causes compatibility issues with the Steam Deck. In the end my goal is to make sure the game runs the best on all machines.
If for some reason you exclusively want a native Linux version, I am willing to offer itch.io keys where such version still exists (but may only run on old Linux versions)
I have asked for a re-review of the Steam Deck compatibility and will report again after the new results.

- Updated Steam Windows version to be on the same technical level as the one on a certain three-letter store. This means DirectX 11 support is now required. (Windows 7 or later)
- Disabled automatic "start fullscreen" which caused the game to go full screen then back to window if you choose to play in window mode
- Added "Brok" banner on the title screen to let players know about my new game. (I hope you won't mind, I'm making sure all the Demetrios fans get a chance to know about Brok!)
- Implemented the "chapter select" option from console versions (warning : not fully re-tested!)Let me know if you have any questions!

The Windows version is not concerned and has not been changed to avoid any compatibility issues.Also, I'm having good progress with my new game in development codenamed "Project Brok"!
This is a huge, very ambitious adventure game mixing genres in never-before-seen ways. The game script and programming are already "complete" (meaning the game can be played from start to end, but with rough art / placeholders) A few playtesters have already finished it and loved it! It took them between 15 and 20 hours to complete it on first playthrough. (see what I mean by "huge"?)
Although a very different tone, fans of Demetrios should definitely look forward to it!
I've been working hard on Brok full time for the past 3 years (simultaneously with console versions of Demetrios). I'm hoping to announce the game as soon as I can focus on the art and show near-final screenshots, most likely early next year.

Yes, now you can choose to play Demetrios without any "toilet" jokes ! Some players didn't like this aspect of the game, so I've decided to offer them an alternative in order to enjoy the adventure. When starting the game, you will now be offered three choices : play the game "as

When starting the game, you will now be offered three choices : play the game "as intended" (same version as before), with less "toilet" jokes, or without any. This also adds to the replayability of the game!
This update also adds a brand new music track to Nogo! There were only two music tracks in this part, so the soundtrack could be considered a bit repetitive. This should help!
Finally, Demetrios is now fully translated into Russian! Thanks to Tolma4 Team, a translation group who did a great job on this :)
This is a major update, it took a while to prepare (new translations required for the new text, altered graphics and sounds...) so I hope you enjoy it!
