Hi folks!
we have only a couple days until Paper's Cut Edition goes public! So after several successful tests with some fans and friends during the past weekend, we decided it's a good time to let you try it out! we invite you all to take part in the Flat Kingdom Paper's Cut Edition closed beta stage. It will last only a few days, and your feedback about it will be really valuable for us!
Will explain you how to access the update:
The most important point we are testing with this closed beta stage is that the old saves don't get lost/overwritten with the new 1.0.3 update, because Fat Panda found the way to keep using them after the update and continue playing your savegame without the need to start all over!
So to test this is working well without taking any risk, first thing I recommend you is to backup your savegames, they are located under: C:/users/youruser/AppData/LocalLow/Fat Panda.
Once you have a copy of your saves in a safe place, go to your Steam Library, select Flat Kingdom and go to Properties in the contextual menu of the game, then go to the Betas tab and finally activate it using the password "PapersCut2016".
That's all, at this point the game should be updating to 1.0.3 and you should be able to continue playing from your latest savepoint (if you've already beaten the tutorial in previous versions), or start over from the very beginning of the game and enjoy all the new cutscenes and tutorial we've added.

This update is really important to us, as we want to address some key issues with the game (you can find the full list below). We hope you like it, and if you find we did a good job, please consider reviewing the game on Steam. That will help us to be more relevant among the myriad of platformers that are on Steam, causing other players to find Flat Kingdom, especially during the upcoming weeks that's the Steam Summer Sale.

### Added
- New and improved animations for expressions and special moves of Flat (i.e. stomp).
- Flat is now more agile, specially when jumping and gliding (faster stomping/super stomping, he can jump even when he’s trapped in a corner, Glide doesn't get interrupted when Flat collides with a wall).
- Added full localization to Russian and German.
- New intro-tutorial sequences explaining in more detail about Flat past and each character's role.
- Improved combat tutorial, more progressive and clear.
- New and improved FX sounds (run, steps, mischievous plant, switching shapes, gameover, steps).
- Added Logitech F310 gamepad support.
- We added signals indicating deathly pits.
- The game displays the number of collected coins on the upper right corner of the screen when Flat is close to a merchant.
- Added gamepad and keyboard button/key remapping option.
- We added a combat guide in the UI that often reminds you the relationships between the shapes and which one beats the other (this hint can be disabled at your choice).
- Now you can check in the world map how many scrolls are left in each world, this will be a great help for those of you trying to get to 100%!
### Changed
- New character design for Flat, adding brand new switching shape effects.
- Camera follows Flat at the same speed when running.
- Selecting the Continue option from the main menu now spawns you on the last checkpoint you activated (within a level) instead of the world map.
- Some enemies designs have been improved: Roundowls, stonesnails and grumpeels.
### Fixed
- Fixed small bugs in bosses: Quetzal, Fenrir, Kraken.
