This update brings a variety of visual improvements, balance changes, gameplay updates, new audio and music, as well as plenty of bug fixes across the game.
Speaking of bugs, if you run into any issues while playing, please let us know over on our Discord. Your reports help us a ton and are always greatly appreciated!

We also want to thank you all for the amazing support, feedback, suggestions, and contributions you've shared with us!
This update also features new music from two amazing artists, SaintLes and UnkRC. We’re incredibly happy to have their music in Driving Rogue, and we strongly recommend checking out more of their work!
Audio & Music
Set up different ambient SFX for each biome.
Added SFX for ability bar depletion.
Added SFX for the timer running out.
Added audio reverb when driving through tunnels.
Updated OST player shuffling to prioritise tracks that haven't been played yet.
Added "Mush Maze" by FilipeABG to the playlist.
Added "Insomnia" by SaintLes to the playlist.
Added "Starlight," "Spider," "Fantasy Crazy" and "Planetary" by UnkRC to the playlist.
Added additional new songs to the playlist.
General Changes
Updated score text throughout the game to use shortened and formatted values for very high scores.
Updated the Driver Title selector so notification icons are cleared when hovering over them.
Added a vehicle glitch-mode trigger when continuously colliding with another vehicle.
Added new obstacle types to replace stationary vehicles from Stage 3 onward.
Balancing
Updated some cards with new effects and adjusted their parameters.
Reduced the "Not Into It" mission target from 100,000 to 10,000.
Increased vehicle braking power.
Updated AI Racers with more balanced and challenging behaviour.
Updated scoring parameters for some card effects.
Updated score gain for each upgraded score level.
Art
Updated the in-game HUD layout, rearranging elements across the screen.
Updated Heal and Refill text positioning for vehicles.
Added new vinyl sets for Shadow and Saber.
Updated some screens with 16:9 limiters.
Updated Low Quality graphics mode with increased light intensity.

Fixed some VFX being incorrectly positioned around vehicles.
Fixed "Strong as a Bull" mission logic not registering correctly.
Fixed the "VIP Customer" card's negative effect not being ignored when required.
Fixed a crash when exiting to the menu during the intro animation sequence.
Fixed invisible collisions that could randomly cause the player to crash.
Fixed card system calculations involving multiplier bonuses and negative-effect stacking.
Fixed the Top Speed Duration stat not being saved correctly.

A brand new update for the Driving Rogue Demo is now available!
This update focuses on refining the core driving experience, improving game balance, and introducing one of our most requested features: Live Radio. Alongside that, we've continued polishing gameplay, UI, visuals, and audio, and fixed a wide range of issues reported by the community.

Added:
Added Live Radio - Simulator Radio, featuring internet radio streaming with switchable stations.
Live Radio lets you listen to music streamed directly from Simulator Radio over the internet. The songs are not included with Driving Rogue or downloaded by the game. Instead, the game simply plays whatever is currently being broadcast by Simulator Radio, with all music licensing handled by Simulator Radio. Live Radio includes three stations you can switch between while playing: Simulator Radio, Non-Stop Rock, and Non-Stop Dance, letting you choose the soundtrack that best fits your drive.
An active internet connection is required to use this feature.

Driving Rogue Demo - New Update Live!
We've been hard at work over the past weeks, and today's update brings one of the biggest additions to the demo yet. From the new Driver Files progression system and Photo Mode to improved handling, new NPC encounters, visual upgrades, and dozens of fixes, there's a lot to check out.

Here's everything included in this update:
Added Driver Files system
Added a player profile that tracks your driving stats, including your average grade, most-driven car, and best scores.
Added Missions with progression tracking that unlock new cards as you play. This is a simplified version of the full game's system, adapted specifically for the demo. Don't forget to claim your unlocked cards and traits before using them!
Added Driver Titles, a new progression system that unlocks exclusive traits and passive bonuses. These traits stay active regardless of which car you drive, letting you customise your playstyle through gameplay progression.
Added player progression
Added experience and levelling, allowing you to progress through levels and unlock new content as you play.
Added Photo Mode (accessible from the pause menu)
You can now capture your favourite moments with a fully featured Photo Mode, complete with a variety of camera settings and effects to help you get the perfect shot of your car.
A huge thank you to ZaKoN, who first suggested this feature and helped us shape it into what it is today. We hope you'll have as much fun taking photos as we had making them!

Added Dynamic Shadows (Graphics option)
Added a new Dynamic Shadows graphics setting that brings more life to the world. When enabled, your car and NPC vehicles cast dynamic shadows that react to the surrounding lighting, making nighttime drives feel more immersive and visually rich.
Added High Quality Motion Blur
Added a new High Quality Motion Blur option that delivers a stronger sense of speed while staying much sharper than the previous effect. It's designed to be a balanced middle ground for players who want the extra feeling of motion without the image becoming overly blurry.
Added NPC Racers
Added NPC Racers that challenge you to score duels during your runs. Racers can show up as random encounters during Challenge Races. Beat their score and cross the finish line before they do to claim victory!
Added a new traffic NPC: Cargo Van
Watch out for the new Cargo Vans driving through traffic! Slipstreaming behind them will cause them to drop their cargo onto the road, so be careful not to end up directly in its path.
Gameplay Updates
Updated vehicle handling and drifting
Improved the overall driving and drifting feel to make cars more responsive and natural to control. You should notice a smoother and more confident driving experience right from the start.
Updated launch behaviour
Fine-tuned launch mechanics for better responsiveness and more consistent starts.
Updated traffic AI
Improved traffic vehicle behaviour and spawning to create more natural and varied traffic flow.
Updated race balance
Daredevils no longer appear during the first stage.
Cargo Vans and oil hazards now start appearing from Stage 2.
Obstacles are now tied to race stages instead of biomes, creating a more consistent progression.
Updated the tutorial
Improved the tutorial flow to make learning the game's mechanics smoother and easier to follow.

Updated multiple road sections
Improved buildings, props, sidewalks, and the overall look of several road sections throughout the game.
Updated environment assets
Gave our Residential and Commercial biomes a visual overhaul with improved assets and rendering.
Fixed various environment issues
Fixed a variety of environment, material, and texture issues across the game.
Audio
Added new UI sound effects
Added sound effects to various UI interactions to make menus feel more responsive and polished.
Updated drifting audio
Improved drifting sound effects with better volume balancing and pitch modulation for a more dynamic driving experience.
Fixed various audio issues
Fixed a variety of sound issues affecting races, tutorials, the pause menu, and multiplayer.
VFX
Added NPC dithering effect
NPC vehicles now use a dithering effect when spawning, making pop-ins much smoother and less noticeable.

Improved vehicle, weather, and post-processing effects to further enhance the overall visual experience.

Removed AI voicelines
All songs containing AI-generated voice lines have been removed. We’re excited to say that our game is now fully human-made, and we’re currently working with vocal talents for future tracks. Until then, instrumental versions of the songs will be used in-game!
New Garage

Sense of Speed
Improved camera movement and speed sensation.
Added new braking camera movement effects.
Updated motion blur and high-speed post-processing effects.
Pickups
We’ve added a brand-new Pickup System! Various pickups can now appear throughout the road during gameplay, rewarding players who take risks and stay alert. These pickups include Bonus Coins, Bonus Points, Bonus Time, Combo Breaker, Healing Pickups, Ability Refill Pickups, and the new Joker Pickup, which randomly grants one of the available pickup effects.
Weather System
Introducing the new Weather System! During races, there is now a chance for Rain or Snow weather conditions to appear, each affecting how your car behaves on the road and adding an extra layer of challenge and variety to every run.
Car Wash
Added the new Car Wash area that can appear across tiles and refill your ability bar.
Added new Ability Refill VFX.

Added optional Hold Handbrake to Drift mechanic.
Re-added the optional Tap Brake to Drift mechanic.

Vehicles now react to steering with suspension sway, adding more weight and realism.

Adjusted grade score requirements.
Removed the time threshold for stopping drift when using the handbrake.
Holding the handbrake after a drift now forces braking.
Handbrake now always stops drifting immediately on press.
Near miss system rebalanced:

Each effect scales with the rarity and number of mods you own in that category — the better your build, the more intense and stylish the visuals. Upgrade your stats and bring that 2000’s tuner vibe to life!

Instrumental Playlist – 100% non-AI tracks (pure instrumental experience)

This update brings gameplay improvements, balance adjustments, new features, visual additions, and several fixes to make the experience smoother and more enjoyable.
Shadow — New Playable Vehicle
A brand new vehicle has entered the road.
Shadow
Trait: Gains 1x multiplier per Engine mods owned.
Shadow is designed to be playful, sleek, and powerful, built for players who want to dominate the road with style and speed. We are very excited to hear what you think about this new addition, so make sure to let us know your impressions.
Drifting System & Handling Model
Drifting has been one of the most challenging systems to tune, and we spent a lot of time improving how it feels. With this update, we made several adjustments aimed at making drifting smoother, more responsive, and easier to get into.
One of the biggest additions is the new Drift Assist option. This optional setting helps players handle sharp corners more comfortably and makes learning the drifting mechanics much easier. Experienced players may still prefer playing without it, but if drifting previously felt frustrating, this feature should make a big difference.

New Drift Handbrake feature (Spacebar / Gamepad B or Circle)
New Drift Assist option available in the Settings menu
Balance Changes
Adjusted score requirements and coin rewards
Reduced the required score for higher grades
Balanced road section difficulty for the first stage

Added owned mods information to the pause menu
Added option to toggle gamepad vibration in Settings
Updated Coolant and Anti-Coolant cards to receive bonus effects from other cards
Fixed an issue where input could become locked after selling overflowing cards

New vinyls have been added for the Centipede vehicle.

We’ve added something completely new to this build that hasn’t been playable before:
Meet Saber
This is the first time Saber is available in the demo, and we’re excited for you to try it.
With this update, players can now experience three distinct vehicles, each with unique gameplay effects:
Centipede – Does not lose speed while drifting
Saber – All mods are more effective
Delivery – Gains more points while drifting
Each car offers a different playstyle and strategy, so your approach to races and combos can change dramatically depending on your choice.
If you’ve already played the demo, we highly encourage you to jump back in and try the new vehicle — it might completely change how you play!
