Original postShhh! Do you hear that? It sounds like… screaming, humorous trivia questions, and outdoor enrichment? That’s the sound of Trivia Murder Party 3!
We spoke to the audio team from Trivia Murder Party 3 and the earlier Trivia Murder Party titles on what inspired and shaped the audio design over the years, from [REDACTED]’s voice changer to the evolution of the classic Trivia Murder Party soundtrack.
What have you been working on lately?
Lately I’ve been working on camp songs for various killing floors! These are songs that fit with the theme of each minigame, and hopefully really set the mood for the creepy camp setting for this game. I imagine these are songs that [REDACTED] grew up singing when he went to summer camp, but he made twisted versions to play at Camp Mass Acres. Some of the songs have fun easter eggs in them too! - Nate, Audio Lead
I’m currently working on TMP3’s VO which involves applying FX to Spencer’s raw voice files and working with our contractor, Katherine Tole, to ensure the lines are polished and game-ready. I’m also helping Nate with mixing and some technical sound engine puzzles. I’m also the audio lead for a yet-to-be-announced game for PP12. - Avery Makel, VO/Technical Sound Person
What has informed and inspired the sound design on the Trivia Murder Party franchise?
When making Trivia Murder Party 1 we really wanted players to feel like they were playing inside a horror movie… a very cliched horror movie with recognizable tropes for us to reference and subvert. I always thought it was funny how big franchise horror movies in the ‘90s would have these terrible hair metal or rap rock songs in the credits that shoehorned in the title of the movie. I asked Andy Poland if he could come up with something that felt like it was riffing off that idea and he came up with that great silly theme song that plays during the credits. Hopefully players would feel like they’d made it to the credits of a horror movie. That was the first time we did a song with lyrics during the credits of one of our games. - Arnie Niekamp, Director of TMP1
Andy and Brian did an amazing job with the sound design on Trivia Murder Party 1 and TMP2. So for TMP3, I’ve taken the themes they created and expanded them into the 3D world of the game. The sound design is naturalistic, tactile, and aggressive. There are lots of metal clinks and slashes, meaty impacts, and visceral screams. Since we’re at an ‘80s-style summer camp, I also included a lot of analog synths and VHS distortion when needed. The 3D environments have given me lots of room to play with Surround ambiences. Each environment has creepy background sounds that should keep you looking over your shoulder! - Nate, Audio Lead
For [REDACTED]’s voice, we wanted to keep our favorite aspects of TMP1 and 2’s voices and use them to create something fresh for the new 3D environment. [REDACTED] has many “moods” and we wanted to ensure the voice fx complimented them all. It took a few iterations to land on FX that felt good and didn’t sacrifice intelligibility. I’m really happy with how it turned out. - Avery Makel, VO/Technical Sound Person
Watch on YouTube How has the music and audio evolved as the game has evolved through the development cycle?
Another audio lead (Brian Chard) started this project. He made a lot of amazing music and sounds for the game, so since I’ve gotten involved, I’ve taken a lot of his tracks and added orchestral layers and various effects to make things sound bigger. I’ve also tried to inject more campiness into everything to really immerse players in the setting. - Nate, Audio Lead
What went into keeping [REDACTED]’s identity a secret with the voice changer? How did the original team come up with that idea and has it changed at all with each different game?
The voice changer was baked into the joke of the game from the very beginning, even when it was first pitched as a rough concept. There’s just something funny about the voice modulator cliche in horror movies. It was hard to find the right voice underneath though, to be able to communicate all that personality even as it's being dampened by the modulator. We auditioned a lot of very talented voice artists, and even had someone else record half of the game before starting over with Spencer. - Arnie Niekamp, director of TMP1
What is your favorite sound effect or song in the game so far and why?
The drumline track in Math is way better than it has any right to be. When we were building that game out I wanted a big hype song to juxtapose the banality of doing basic math and Nate absolutely knocked it out of the park. - Spencer, Creative Director on TMP3
I love the song that plays during [the minigame] Chalices, mainly because I got to play with some fun backwards lyrics effects. - Nate, Audio Lead TMP3
How do you maintain the audio themes of the last games while updating them on Trivia Murder Party 3?
There’s a beautiful “List of the Dead” theme that first appeared in TMP1. I’ve basically treated it like a main theme and worked the opening melody into lots of parts of the game. Forgive me for some music nerdery. The melody starts on the 5th scale degree and oscillates a half step above and then below that note. I’ve used that figure in shredding metal guitar lines, “Psycho-esque” murder music, and in camp songs. I’ve also used re-orchestrated versions of some of the songs from previous games, like the TMP2 Intro montage. - Nate, Audio Lead TMP3

Building out the main areas and environments of the game, this includes the intro, the lobby, scoreboard and the end of the game. - Wyatt, Senior World Artist

Thinking of interesting ways for dolls to die. - Kristin, Senior Tech Animator
Designing the in-game UI, from the player HUD to the trivia screen. - Kyle Fleischer, UI Artist
So many things :) ! New dolls and customization options. Overarching style, color and tone. And even tutorials drawn by [REDACTED]. - Matthew Bell, Art Director

What has informed the look of the game?
Using different visual cues and motifs present in 80s horror, whether its certain camera angles or homages to scenes or easter eggs - Wyatt, Senior World Artist
This is the first TMP that doesn't take place in a locked room, so lots of references from nature. - Kyle Fleischer, UI Artist
A mix of 80s horror and the VHS-era macabre, but also campground throwbacks and voodoo. - Matthew Bell, Art Director

How has the look of the game evolved as you continue to move forward in development?
Like any game, it takes time to iterate on and find the look we’re going for. We’re trying to be intentional with creation but also leaning into some stylization to tie the horror game vibes into some level of comedy. - Wyatt, Senior World Artist

As we keep building new things and the game gets more complete it gives me a lot more context for how my animations get used, and I can make them even better. And deadlier. - Kristin, Senior Tech Animator
Each new space is its own puzzle, but we’re getting comfortable with the recipe. Dialing in the amounts of horror, 80s references, campground themes, and gameshow murder. The same is true of the characters, we’ve made some smart choices that are going to allow your characters to be more expressive and personalized. - Matthew Bell, Art Director

How do the different departments work together to achieve the intended look (i.e. the artists and the engineers)? How do you blend the practical concessions with the creative goals?
Death threats, subterfuge, and not taking no for an answer. - anonymous TMP3 dev
The best ideas get a laugh or a gasp. The team runs toward these ideas working to see how they can strengthen the goals. - Matthew Bell, Art Director

What is your favorite art asset in the game so far and why?
It’s silly but the tutorials that [REDACTED] creates. They’re raw, unpolished but expressive and it shows how [REDACTED] must see his contestants/victims. - Matthew Bell, Art Director
Watch on YouTube What have been some of the biggest challenges with the art direction?
Given that the environments are semi-realistic, it’s always a balance of believability with animations. Too cartoony and it won’t fit in, too realistic and it’ll look strange on our characters. - Kristin, Senior Tech Animator
Designing UI that doesn't get in the way of the action. We finally get to see the world in its animated glory. - Kyle Fleischer, UI Artist
I’ve mentioned that TMP3 is a mix of 80s horror, campground, and murder gameshow. It's also a mix of cute and gruesome. Which means it’s a constant push and pull from these elements. - Matthew Bell, Art Director

We have an exciting new roster of doll avatars for Trivia Murder Party 3. Any insight into the fate of the dolls from Trivia Murder Party 2?
Probably death. But death is not the end… - Kristin, Senior Tech Animator
They live on in our hearts. - Kyle Fleischer, UI Artist

Original postWe’re thrilled to share an update on how Trivia Murder Party 3 is shaping up to feel bigger and more alive than ever… which is more than we can say for some of [REDACTED]’s victims!
This past year has been focused on expanding our creative vision and leveling up our technical capabilities. We’re striving to make a Trivia Murder Party that honors everything fans love, while elevating it in exciting new ways.
We’re excited about the progress we’ve made and appreciate your patience, excitement, and support while we’ve been quietly stitching all of this together behind the scenes. Trivia Murder Party 3 is shaping up to be a deep, rich, and immersive adventure, and we can’t wait for you to step inside.
State of the Game
Our goal for Trivia Murder Party 3 is to deliver a sequel that simultaneously delights existing fans while expanding the franchise's possibilities. We’re not just slapping a fresh coat of paint on top of some new content; we went back to the drawing board for a massive leap in scope, atmosphere, and longevity.
We’ve been hard at work defining the core creative and design principles that are guiding every choice, including:
Leaning into 3D: We are delivering a bigger and better experience by taking advantage of a modern 3D engine. This is allowing us to craft an immersive cinematic world grounded in a unified theme: the terrifying atmosphere of an 80s slasher/summer camp. Does anyone want a high-res sloppy joe?
Always Someone to Play With: A core focus is making it easier to connect with friends or strangers anytime with online multiplayer and matchmaking. We are building the game so that the humor, gameplay, and social energy of Jackbox always shine through, no matter who you’re playing with.
Evolving Gameplay: We are designing new gameplay elements, including the introduction of Plot Twists, which inject surprise and variety by changing up the rules or social dynamics of every game.
Variety and Re-Imagination: We are focused on providing a variety of minigames with strong replayability. This means creating exciting brand new minigames and bringing back your fan favorites, but re-imagined and modernized to take full advantage of our new 3D engine.
Tone: Expect the signature Trivia Murder Party experience, where the tone alternates between creepy horror and lighthearted comedy.
Expansive Trivia: Our team of writers (real mouth-breathing humans) are creating an ever-expansive library of interesting trivia questions and, good news, only one of them is about Ryan Seacrest! Additionally, thanks to our Plot Twist system, we will be introducing brand new spins to trivia that we think you’re going to love.
Our approach of combining cinematic presentation with deep, robust online systems in a new modern game engine is ambitious, and getting extra time to build this game concept has been rewarding. (Also, we weren’t kidding about that Ryan Seacrest question. The correct answer is B.)
Concept Art
Here’s a look at some early concept art for a few key gameplay moments. Keep in mind, none of this art is final so don’t yell at us in the comments if the game comes out and looks a bit different. We do have comments on Jackbox blogs... right?
An early look at a minigame prototype called Killer Cam:

2026 is going to be a big year for Trivia Murder Party 3, and we want to share with you some of our Milestone goals so you know what to expect.
Spring 2026 – Steam Alpha Playtesting
In early spring, we plan to utilize Steam’s Playtesting feature to allow you, our community, to play Trivia Murder Party 3 for free and provide us feedback on your experience that we can learn from to improve the game and new online play features.
We will have a lot more information to share about how Alpha testing will work soon, so keep an eye out here on our blog!
Late Summer 2026 – Early Access available on Steam and Epic Store
Launching Trivia Murder Party 3 as an Early Access title is a first for Jackbox, and as you would expect from any Early Access title, we’ll provide a series of updates to the game to improve gameplay and add new features and content. But most importantly, we are excited about the opportunity it will give us to learn and interact directly with our community to shape the future of the game!
TBD 2027 – v1.0 Launch
Our current plans are to exit Early Access at some point in 2027 with a v1.0 version of Trivia Murder Party 3 expanded from Steam and Epic Store to include: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch 2.
That’s it for us! We have to go make [REDACTED] his favorite kale smoothie or he’ll smash our ant farm again. We’re grateful to our dev team for their hard work and to our wonderful fans and community for their patience and enthusiasm! Stay tuned for more updates in 2026.

Original postThe Trivia Murder Party 3 team is hard at work making a new trivia party game full of minigames, new and old. They definitely are NOT trying to escape a murder sleepaway-camp run by a disembodied voice with daddy issues. Ahem. Where were we?
Ah yes, minigames! Trivia Murder Party has always been a beautiful yin and yang of trivia and minigames. The great fun of Trivia Murder Party is that you still might win, even if trivia isn’t your strong suit.
Designing Trivia Murder Party 3 gave our team the unique opportunity to revisit and reimagine minigames from the first two installments, deciding which ones to bring back and how to evolve them. At the same time, moving to Unreal opened the door to entirely new concepts as well, allowing us to push the boundaries of what a Trivia Murder Party minigame could be.Working in a new engine allowed the team to think outside of what was possible before.
We spoke to the team on an all new minigame coming to Trivia Murder Party 3.
Can you tease an upcoming new minigame? What’s the premise and how does it work?
One of the new games we’re working on is called Archery. Vulnerable players must place themselves on an archery target and safe players aim and shoot at them. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
Where did the idea for “Archery” come from?
Once we locked down the camp setting, this was one of the first new ideas we greenlit. It checked a lot of boxes for us: it fit the theme well, it allowed safe players to knock out vulnerable players, and it gave us an opportunity to do something new and interesting with the controller. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
What challenges did you have to overcome while designing this minigame?
The biggest challenge that arose was figuring out how the aiming and shooting mechanic should work. We initially tested a timing-based mechanic where you had to intersect two fast moving lines. Our first stab at this proved to be too difficult. Playtesters were consistently missing the mark, which was not the intent. We want something that is challenging but certainly not impossible. After dialing the speed of the lines down, it improved some but it still wasn’t yielding great results.
Then, our Lead Designer, Joe France, had a better solution. He designed the mechanic to mimic what it’s like to shoot a bow and arrow. You press and drag to aim and then release to shoot. The catch? The longer you spend aiming, the more your reticle starts to wander. Tired arms make for bad shots. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
This better control scheme unlocked a lot of design space, too. With intersecting lines, we could only define how fast each line should scan its way across your device. Now, we can tune in how much your reticle will naturally sway, how long it takes for fatigue to set in, and how much force you need to drag to meaningfully guide the reticle around. If you think you’re getting the hang of it, well…. don’t get too comfortable! - Ryan McGill, Infra Engineer
Did the minigame look very different when you first started making it up until now?
In addition to changing the mechanic, we also initially tested it taking place inside a cabin, believe it or not. This game now takes place outside. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
How are you incorporating fan favorite minigames into the new Trivia Murder Party 3 while still making them feel fresh and well integrated with the new title?
We know what some of our fans’ favorite games are from a survey we sent out last year. We use that info in helping shape some of our decisions into what games are coming back into Trivia Murder Party 3. Many of the returning games have fresh new twists applied to them in addition to fun new aesthetics in this 3D space. But just like from Trivia Murder Party to Trivia Murder Party 2, we are going to introduce a majority of new games. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
How do you make sure minigames are well balanced and fun before the audience gets to play?
We playtest our games constantly. Even when a game is playtesting well and receiving positive feedback, making tweaks to timing and controls and presentation has enabled us to explore other opportunities. We're not always pursuing the first concept we land on, even if it gets good feedback. Always seeking ways to improve and learn why some things are working, some aren’t. - Sydney Hunt, Game Product Manager
Are there any fun or silly minigame ideas that got pitched but could never make it to production? Why?
Do we have a lot of dumb ideas documented somewhere? Absolutely. Some of them are wonderfully dumb but are either out of scope or not technically feasible. But I wouldn’t say “never” as I’ve learned over the years that if enough people love an idea, we usually find ways to make it work. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
Which of [REDACTED]’s minigames do you think you could survive irl? 👀
Dictation. Not to brag, but I beat my high school typing instructor in a typing challenge. Again, not a flex (but I won pretty easily). - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
Math! I’m positive. How many numbers could there possibly be?! - Ryan McGill, Infra Engineer

Original postJackbox has been hard at work on Trivia Murder Party 3 because we wanted to give our fans more of the world they know and love. The Trivia Murder Party franchise has always been full of rich lore and a beloved murdering host who threatened us with bodily harm if we didn’t make another game for him to star in. We had no choice but to give the people what they want!
By making Trivia Murder Party 3 a stand-alone title, our devs get the opportunity to give the franchise our full attention while working in Unreal Engine 5, a new tool for us. The Jackbox Party Pack format is brilliant for variety, but it limits how much we can innovate our tech and how deeply we can explore any single game. A standalone title lets us go all-in, creating a deeper and richer experience, while being able to try new things like online matchmaking. And we can continue to support Trivia Murder Party 3 with future content updates, like new trivia questions and minigames. He’s been saying it for years, but [REDACTED] really does deserve our undivided attention….
We sat down with a handful of devs from the Trivia Murder Party team to share a behind-the-scenes look at this upcoming title and what it takes to make a new game at Jackbox.

Trivia Murder Party 3 has been announced to the world! What has development of the game been like up until this point, and how does it feel to see fans reacting to the news?
It’s been exciting to see fans reacting to the news! Although it’s confusing as to why so many people are happy about the return of [REDACTED]. That guy is a literal nightmare to work with. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
Development has been a blast. We’ve seen your whispers, your requests, your “give us TMP3” posts, and it’s been so rewarding to finally answer that call. Seeing fans light up at the announcement makes all those months of ideation and iteration feel worth it. Wins on wins on wins! - Alex Weick, Senior Producer
In what ways is development of Trivia Murder Party 3 similar to development during the first two installments? In what ways has it been different?
There’s a lot to live up to, and we’re dedicated to keeping the spirit of TMP intact throughout development while introducing meaningful ways to play, connect, and evolve the experience without losing what made it special. We’re adding a ton of fresh new content and also diving back into some fan-favorite mini-games from the previous installments. Reimagining them through the lens of summer camp, riffing on what fans already love, and finding ways to add *s’more* chaos has been particularly fun. - Sydney Hunt, Game Product Manager
The Unreal Eengine gives us a chance to make the game feel more cinematic and alive than ever before. There’s been a lot of excitement to try ideas that the team wanted to do in previous versions, but just didn’t have the technology to make it happen. - Joe France, Senior Game Designer

Why are we revisiting the Trivia Murder Party franchise now, and as a standalone game with online multiplayer?
Trivia Murder Party has always been a standout, blending trivia, social mini-games, and a campy horror vibe that’s uniquely Jackbox. Fans have flooded our feeds with love for the game, begging for more questions, new mini-games, and a deeper dive into its twisted world and that has inspired us to take a daring leap forward. Revisiting Trivia Murder Party as a standalone game gives us an opportunity to further explore this rich world and give the franchise the spotlight it deserves. More importantly, Trivia Murder Party 3 isn’t just a standalone sequel title, it’s a stage for us to push boundaries and innovate for this franchise and Jackbox Games as a whole. - Mike Zuba, Executive Producer
It can take a lot of work for players to do all the scheduling needed with friends to host a Jackbox party. While still supporting [the traditional way to play Jackbox], we did want to make it easier for players to enjoy the game they purchased with fewer hoops to jump through. - Joe France, Senior Game Designer
We’ve always focused on local play, but we kept hearing from players who wanted a smoother way to play remotely (whether with friends or strangers) without the need for complex coordination or relying on workarounds. Online multiplayer in TMP3 is our way of making the experience more accessible, spontaneous, and frictionless for everyone. - Sydney Hunt, Game Product Manager
Is there a moment from a prior meeting or playtest that stands out to you as especially exciting or pivotal? How did it influence the direction that the team is going in?
This past fall we had a big onsite meeting that resulted in a lot of exciting brainstorm sessions. It not only grew our backlog of ideas, but it allowed us to align on the things important to the game and some areas that could be improved upon. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
Without giving too much away, seeing some classic TMP beats come to life in a new engine has been genuinely transformational. Another moment that stands out is the first time we got host audio in the game. This is my first TMP, and hearing [REDACTED]’s voice for the first time in that context was surreal. They’re simply an icon! - Alex Weick, Senior Producer

What can you share about the setting of Trivia Murder Party 3? What were the sources of inspiration for the summer camp theme that the game exists in?
TMP3 is set at an old abandoned summer camp that [REDACTED] attended as a teenager. Like its predecessors, this installment is also influenced by horror films, specifically the slasher camp genre.
Several folks on the team have attended a summer camp in their youth, so it’s been fun/mortifying to recall personal experiences into brainstorms. Will the game feature a talent show wherein [REDACTED] performs the cheerleader sketch from SNL (just like I did back in the day)? You’ll just have to wait and see! - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
It seems the former administrators of the camp left behind some old cassette tapes… [REDACTED] might incorporate them into his macabre game show. - Brian Chard, Senior Audio Lead
What makes the team working on Trivia Murder Party 3 unique? Does the team have any traditions or new processes they are trying? What has been the best part about working with this specific group of people?
The team working on Trivia Murder Party 3 is really special because it brings together a mix of people who have deep experience with the series, others who are bringing in fresh ideas for the first time, and of course, [REDACTED], our resident expert in the craft of murder. There’s a real respect for what made the first two games so beloved, but also an excitement about pushing the format in new ways. There’s a lot of laughter in the room, a lot of “what if we tried this?” energy, and a real willingness to take risks together. - Sydney Hunt, Game Product Manager
What are some beloved things we can promise WILL return in this latest installment of Trivia Murder Party 3?
1. Trivia
2. Murder
3. Party? - tbd - Brian Chard, Senior Audio Lead
Will there be marshmallows?
Fielding this question during TMP1 and 2 development was weird, but now it’s not. Yes, there will be marshmallows. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
Our first marshmallow recording session is next week, I think. - Brian Chard, Senior Audio Lead
What’s your favorite camping memory?
Growing up, I spent a lot of time camping with my dad in Canada. Those trips were basically a crash course in all of his favorite things, but the most consistent part was the soundtrack. We’d sing along to Randy Travis and Johnny Cash on repeat while he played guitar and harmonica by the fire. During one of those campfire jams, I fell face-first into the flames. Luckily, his “dad reflexes” kicked in and he had me out before I even knew what happened but, needless to say, singing Ring of Fire hit a little different after that. - Sydney Hunt, Game Product Manager
During a family camping trip to Colorado, my sister and I entered a drawing contest organized by the camp rangers. The drawing my sister made of a “chipmunk” was so cursed that it became part of family lore. This 30-year-old drawing will still surface during the holidays. It’s truly legendary. - Spencer Ham, Senior Creative Director
While camping, we didn’t put our trash away as we should have. When I woke up the next morning, I heard a story from my parents about a curious bear who wandered in and started sniffing me from the other side of the tent. - Joe France, Senior Game Designer

We’re thrilled to bring online play to this fan-favorite title, and with it comes an exciting challenge: how do we preserve the Jackbox experience players know and love from local Trivia Murder Party, while seamlessly adapting it for online play?
We want online play in Trivia Murder Party 3 to be as simple and approachable as Jackbox Games have always been and we’re building the experience with that in mind. Players who purchase the standalone game can easily start a lobby, have local players join just like any other Jackbox game, or hop online to connect with other remote groups. Even better, your local players can come along for the online ride. Neat!
Hate playing games with strangers online (dare we say… stranger danger)? Good news! Local play isn't going anywhere in Trivia Murder Party 3, so you can still hop on with just the friends you have in the room.

Trivia Murder Party 3 Online-Play Frequently Asked Questions:
Will Trivia Murder Party 3 work over Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, and other video applications?
Yes! I have bad news about Skype, but all the platforms mentioned here (and even more besides) should support playing over video, just like previous Jackbox Games.
Can I play Trivia Murder Party 3 on my phone like other Jackbox games?
Yes! Just like other Jackbox games, in TMP3 you’ll be using your phone (or tablet, or anything with a browser) as your controller, for both online and offline play. Murder-mayhem right at your fingertips!
Can I play Trivia Murder Party 3 locally with my friends in the same room?
Yes! Even though we're adding online play, we're not taking away local play. Go throw a house party.
Can I play TMP3 online with my friend who is in the room on the same game?
Yes! Whether it’s just one other person or a house party with you and six of your closest friends, you can fill the remaining spots with online players.
How many people will be in any single online match in Trivia Murder Party 3?
Online matches will support up to 8 players, just like other Trivia Murder Party titles. The only difference now is that you may not know all or any of them! That part’s up to you.
Will I need a subscription for online matchmaking in Trivia Murder Party 3?
No, you won't need a subscription for online matchmaking within our game. Once you purchase the game, all online play features, including matchmaking with friends or strangers, are included at no additional cost. If playing on a console, you may need a subscription to access online services for the platform you’re on, like Nintendo Online, Playstation Plus, or Xbox Game Pass.
Will there be voice chat in the game?
In Early Access, Trivia Murder Party 3 won’t include built-in voice chat. Creating a safe and trustworthy environment for players is a top priority, and building the right systems to support that takes time. It’s something that’s definitely on our radar for the future.
How are you moderating bad behavior online?
In Early Access, we’re launching with a light set of social features designed to help create a safe and positive online environment. For example, mod.jackbox.tv will continue to offer moderation tools like kicking unruly players. We are also designing a lot of the game to not need heavy moderation just to keep the fun going. I bet we'll have more to say about this in future posts and as we explore more moderation tools in Early Access!
Are there going to be online parental settings?
While Trivia Murder Party 3 won’t include custom in-game parental settings at launch, we’ll be following the guidelines and requirements of the platforms we’re releasing on - many of which already offer built-in parental controls and monitoring tools. We always encourage families to make use of these settings to help create a safe and comfortable play environment.

Original postHi everyone,
We’ve made the decision to delay Trivia Murder Party 3 into 2026.
From the beginning, Trivia Murder Party 3 has been one of our most ambitious projects yet. The game is being built in a new engine and it will be our first Jackbox title in recent years with online matchmaking. It is also the first title we hope to continuously update with new events and content after its release.
We know how much the Trivia Murder Party franchise means to our fans and to our team. We are excited to collaborate with our players to help Trivia Murder Party 3 evolve and we want to create the best possible starting point. We know that can only be achieved by giving our staff the space, time, and work environment to do what they do best.
We can’t wait to bring the party to you next year. In the meantime, you can follow our progress on the Trivia Murder Party 3 Steam page and on our blog. We look forward to sharing more with you soon. Thank you for your patience with us and for your support of our games for so many years.
