Hi everybody!
The team has been hard at work on the new update. This one now includes new features like a brand-new survival mode and local leaderboards. Here is the full changelog!
Decreased the spawn time of enemy units on EASY and MEDIUM.
Decreased slighty the damage of enemy units on EASY. A penalty of 15%
Implemented a retreat button: When the button is clicked, the squad automatically runs back to the nearts LZ, ignoring all enemy units
All barricades and sandbags now have cover on both sides.
New Survival mode including all playable factions.
Implemented Local Leaderboards
Weapon damage in short range has been balanced: heavy weapons are weaker and assault weapons are stronger.
Fixed text showing up in English in the Portuguese version.
Fixed issue where health bar was showing up on top of the minimap.
This is now live for PC and LINUX. We are still having some small problems with the MAC version but are working to get those fixed asap.

Hi everybody!
First of all: Thank you all for the wealth of feedback we got since the release of the game. We are working hard to fix what issues are left and to make the game an even better experience. That said, there is a new patch available that brings the game to version 1.1 and changes the following things:
Infantry units now have an auto-heal function, so they can recover their HP.
The way it works is: health goes up automatically with a timer, but the speed of recovery depends of the unit type. Light infantry heals faster than medium, and medium heals faster than heavy. This will also work to make light infantry survive longer because they heal faster than others. Light and medium infantry also get more cover bonus than heavy infantry.
Mechs shields have been tweaked and are much stronger.
Rocket damage is weaker and has a higher chance of slightly missing the target.
Mechs can now be sold in the Hangar.
Mechs are now cheaper to repair in the landing zones.
New weapon information in the barracks (a tooltip when hovering the weapon icon).
First mission is now much easier. We also moved the turret control console to a more visible place to make sure people don't miss it.
Third mission is easier (removed some enemy platoons from the village).
Auto-turrets have more health (bumped from 500 to 1200).
Higher targeting precision when aiming/selecting enemy units.
Fixed mech/pilot lost when restarting the game.
Fixed plasma cannons (AA) not registering in side missions as destroyed.
Increased maximum number of mechs from 7 to 8.
Turrets, mechs and bunkers now have a health bar.
There will be more patches but this one should make the game easier to play from the getgo. Let us know your thoughts.

Kasedo Games' futuristic RTS Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons, the tale of a mercenary company trapped on a planet overrun by enemy forces, (who are also mechs and mercs, but crucially wearing different outfits), is now available on Steam. And because no game launch is complete without an accompanying trailer, the publisher has also released a new video that showcases both gameplay and cinematics. Cue the giant robots!
According to the description on Steam the game sees specialized unit classes with unique weapons and abilities battling across five different worlds, each with its own environments and weather conditions, while bases can be customized and upgraded with weapons and infrastructure that will provide boosts and additional abilities to squads in the field. Relations with various factions influence progression, and the player's actions have a "direct impact on the local system's balance of power."
It's single-player only, which is kind of unusual for the RTS genre, but it doesn't take a whole lot of hardware to run—the recommended spec is a dual-core CPU at 2.4GHz or higher, 4GB RAM, and a GeForce 8800 GTX—and it offers Steam trading cards and achievements, which are always nice.
However, the user reviews, to use Steam's own parlance, are "mixed"—almost perfectly so, currently sitting at 20 positive and 19 negative. That's hardly a ringing endorsement, but there actually seems to be a good bit of common ground between the two sides, including comments/complaints about the high degree of difficulty, spotty AI, and some rough edges that will hopefully be smoothed down in future patches.
Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons is available until January 16 for 15 percent off its regular price of $20. A boxed version, for those who you who enjoy such things, comes out on January 23.
