The support of players like you across the years is the reason we're here today.
When Defiant Development closed its doors, we weren't sure we'd ever get the chance to return to this world. But the passion this community continued to show through reviews, fan art, discord discussions, and everyone who kept introducing new players to the games, never really went away. It reminded us that the world of Hand of Fate was still worth fighting for.
Like the Dealer, we love the game … and we’re also hard to kill.
We’ve been working away on this next chapter Hand of Fate: Hordes, and today we launch into Early Access. That means this is where the real work begins, with your input and help. Early Access helped shape the original Hand of Fate into the game it was, and we’re looking forward to walking that road again with Hand of Fate: Hordes.
Why We Think You’ll Love Hand of Fate: Hordes
While Hordes explores a brand-new genre, it's still very Hand of Fate at its core.
The Dealer is back (yes, Anthony Skordi returns!), bringing the same atmosphere, storytelling and wit that made the original games unforgettable.
The adored woodcut card art from Jesse Gillespie, has been dusted off, for more intense games of chance.
The world, characters, monsters and lore you know and love are all here - reimagined through fast-paced action where every run tells a new story.
It's a fresh way to experience the Hand of Fate universe while keeping the heart, charm and personality that made you fall in love with it in the first place.
Why Early Access?
The biggest reason Hand of Fate became what it is today, and paved the way for Hand of Fate 2, was because of the community support and feedback we saw during Steam Greenlight (what is now Early Access).
Your responses challenged us, your ideas made the games better, and your support gave us the confidence to keep creating.
We're hoping to build up Hand of Fate: Hordes the same way.
Over the next 12 months we'll be adding new heroes, quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons and more, and we'd love to shape those updates alongside the people who know this world best - you.
