Hello everyone!
This is quite a moment for us as Update 1.6 has been in the works now for several months, and it represents a major step forward for Who Is Abby.
Over this time, we have been working hard to strengthen what was already there, improving clarity, polish, performance, and overall presentation across the game. We also want to take a moment to say a genuine thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave kind words, thoughtful feedback, or constructive criticism.
As a small two-person team, every review, comment, and discussion matters to us. A large portion of this update has been shaped directly by feedback from Steam reviews and the community forums, and it has helped us refine the experience in ways that would not have been possible otherwise.
Update 1.6 highlights
A fully remastered demo and opening chapter, redesigned to better establish tone, atmosphere, and intent.
Major lighting and visual improvements across the opening chapters.
Significant set dressing and environmental polish throughout the game.
A complete music overhaul throughout the entire game
Performance and stability improvements across all chapters
Numerous bug fixes and small quality-of-life improvements
Demo progress is now carried on to the main game.
Steam Cloud saving is now enabled
One of the key focuses of Update 1.6 was ensuring that the story lands as intended, particularly towards the later parts of the game. Based on player feedback, we have refined how key story information connects towards the end of the game.
Without changing the core narrative, these refinements are designed to help players piece things together more clearly by the end, and to better reflect the full context of the story once all elements are in place.
A note on the demo
The demo has been completely remastered as part of this update and is very representative of the full game experience. It introduces you to the light and dark tone, pacing, atmosphere, and Tom's relentless ability to comment about everything he looks at.
If you enjoy the demo, you should feel confident that the full game builds naturally from that foundation.
Quick tip. Who is Abby rewards those who pay attention and explore!
This update lays important groundwork for what comes next for Who Is Abby, and while we cannot talk about that just yet, Update 1.6 is a significant step in that direction.

It’s Halloween… so naturally, we’ve filled the world of Who is Abby with an unnecessary number of also unnecessary pumpkins, skeletons, cobwebs, and all sorts of other spooky nonsense.
Who is Abby isn’t actually a horror game (technically it’s more of a psychological thriller), but we figured it was the perfect excuse to drape a few ghosts over things and pretend we meant to.
The Halloween version will only be around for a few days before it mysteriously vanishes and everything returns to normal, so if you want to see Who is Abby looking a little more haunted than usual, now’s your chance.
Also fixed a couple of minor bugs while we were there...

We’re extremely excited to bring you a new update which puts Who is Abby to version 1.1.4! This update focuses on enhancing performance and addressing several key issues reported by the community.
Here’s a bit of a breakdown of the changes:

Changes approach for non ray traced lighting on the final chapter which has massively improved the performance. Note.We still recommend using ray tracing as the game just looks better.
Fixed multiple sticky stuck spots throughout the game.
Fixed Police station backdrop bug. There is now something to look at out of the windows.
Fixed an issue with the museum not loading properly from Chapter 6.
Fixed issue where you see Tom in the boat before getting in
Fixed Stocksynd House Achievement I wonder where you'll find that one....
Fixed the “floaty Tom” issue in a later flashback sequence.
Fixed an issue where players could light the fire from the attic in Chapter 6.
Many many other minor tweaks and fixes
It took us a little while to get this one out because of the difficulties with the performance issue on the final chapter for players not using ray tracing however, it is now resolved and runs considerably better. We managed to include a bunch of other minor fixes too.

Memory Fragment Placement: Fixed the bug preventing memory fragments from being placed in the Chapter 5 memory zone.
Item Streaming: Fixed an issue with item streaming in the upper area of Museum Chapter 8.
Removed Chris P Bacon's Bucket: It’s gone now. 🐖🚫
New Glasses:Fixed the focus problem with gas station shelves.
Player Launching: Fixed a bug where some inspectable objects would launch the player, while it could be fun it's not there by design.

We're thrilled to bring you what we're once again calling yet another final update of our Early Access phase. While we've previously hinted at final updates, this update truly sets the stage for the upcoming full release... Probably. We've overhauled several core aspects of the game to generally make it better and prepare for the grand release!
Major Highlights and What’s New:

Prologue Level Completely Revamped: We've done quite a bit with the first chapter, packing it with new activities and a richer narrative. There are even a few rather cool secrets, but you'll need the full version to find some of them... ;)
Additional Checkpoints: We have massively increased the checkpoint density across all chapters, making coming and going more enjoyable.
Redesigned Menu: The menu has been redesigned once again. It now has a fresh and more simple interface that’s not only sleeker but also optimised for controller use.
Settings Overhaul: We've expanded the settings menu with additional options, including the ability to select ultra settings without needing to enable ray tracing, hopefully providing top performance across a broader range of hardware.
Player Sticky Points Squashed: Numerous points where the player could get stuck have been fixed.
Refined Path Restrictions: We've completely revamped how player movement is blocked to keep you on the intended path without escape.
More Inspectable Objects: Discover many new items throughout the game, each adding depth to the story and environment. Or just listen to Tom's jaded view about a toaster, for example.
Increased Narrative Focus: We’ve enriched the storyline with added details that highlight the game's lore and enhance the overall narrative impact—as long as you're paying attention, at least.
Puzzle Enhancements: Tweaks to various puzzles to improve cohesion and integration with the game’s storyline.
Anti-Backtracking Features: We put in a few new mechanisms across areas of levels to prevent backtracking, hopefully keeping you moving forward and focused.
100's of General Bug Fixes: Too many things to list but we've fixed tons and tons of bugs. An honourable mention is that the shed in the second chapter can no longer be passed through...
