New Languages, Fixes & Optimizations – Bearnard Gets a Big Patch!
Hi Folks! At the beginning of 2025, I started working on the Nintendo Switch port, which also brought plenty of improvements and changes to the PC version. And that's not all! The latest patch adds support for 8 new languages , including several Asian ones. So if English or Polis

At the beginning of 2025, I started working on the Nintendo Switch port, which also brought plenty of improvements and changes to the PC version. And that's not all! The latest patch adds support for 8 new languages, including several Asian ones. So if English or Polish isn't your first language, you can now enjoy the game in your own. Below is the summary of the most important changes and fixes.
Fixed:
Fixed occasional problems when connecting / disconnecting a gamepad
Scrolls panel do not stay on a screen when the game is unpaused
Fixed some edge-cases with Steam integration
Pause menu is no longer displayed when a gamepad is disconnected on a death screen
The game no longer crashes when a player rapidly clicks "Continue" button in a main menu
The game no longer crashes when a player pauses the game in a very specific moment of some cutscenes
Changed:
Translated the game to 8 new languages: Chinese Simplified and Traditional, Korean, Japanese, Spanish (LATAM), Portugese (BR), German, French
Improved English dialogues quality
Updated Godot Engine to a version 3.6. It does not bring any significant improvements for the player, but keeps me up to date and makes further patching easier
Made tons of optimizations for slower computers
Improved enemies placement / movement in some levels to make combat more appealing

Another game update has been deployed. This one focuses on game balance and minor bugs.
Here's the summary of changes and fixes:
Fixed:

Fixed key icon of grind action when a key responsible for that action was remapped
Changed:

There is now a limit of 3 cards per each Necromancer which may be dropped by minions
There is only 20 % probability that a minion will drop anything
XP for minions has been lowered from 10 to 1
Common tier cards grind value has been lowered from 15 to 5
Higher tier cards grind value has been lowered from 25% to 15% of its value
Lowered maximum gold which may be dropped by a killed enemy from 10 to 5

Edge cases when a Decoy or a Gift could have been stuck under a solid ground
Some very rare bugs when loading a saved game
Changed:

The cost of a Magic Remover card has been lowered from 3 to 2

It's been an incredible week for me and Bearnard. I'm thrilled that the game has been well received. Thank you for all the kind words, positive reviews, and overwhelming support.
Even though I tested the game extensively, a few minor bugs slipped through. Thanks for all the reports! Here's a quick summary of what’s been fixed recently:
Added:

Witch description was missing — now added.
Fixed:

Castle 01 - Barrels Puzzle: Barrels shot too high were getting stuck, which caused the gate to remain closed until a checkpoint restart. This is now fixed.
Addressed edge cases when loading and restarting levels, which could leave Bearnard with 0 HP.
Corrected level name translations in the Mines (Polish language).
Fixed camera positioning when the target was too far away.
Gamepad events now only respond to the default device, preventing double clicks/motion when using gamepad emulation software like DualSense-X or Steam Input.
Various other minor tweaks and improvements.
Cleaned up my desk (no more excuses for a messy workspace!).
Changed:

Reduced traps' collision boxes for easier jumping in tight spaces.
Improved areas with collectibles that Bearnard couldn't pick up when at 1 HP.
Deployed traps (e.g. Blue Poo, Mine, Spikes) are now removed when combat ends, preventing players from getting stuck in tight spaces after a fight.
Changed the "Restart level" text to "Restart challenge" when Bearnard is in a challenge room.
