Step into the shadows with this free DLC for Blade Prince Academy, introducing Kleff the Rat Assassin. This cunning new character focuses on physical damage to single targets with his exceptional attack speed. Kleff's spells include armor debuffs and several support abilities designed to trigger devastating combos during missions.
Kleff comes with his own narrative arc and unique character dialogues to discover throughout the base game.
Who is Kleff?
Kleff is a mysterious rat animalid born in the catacombs, in a tribe of ratmen. To survive and protect his clan, he trained at a young age to become a ruthless assassin. But his talents aroused the hatred of his rivals, who massacred Kleff's family in retaliation. After taking revenge by executing the murderers, he goes by himself to an inquisition barracks to be tried and imprisoned. But given Kleff's young age and the impressive number of thugs he had killed, the inquisitors made the decision to send him to the Blade Prince Academy.
On his forehead, his third eye offers the gift of premonition. He is capable of anticipating all the movements of his opponents in a combat situation, and reacting with dazzling speed, formidable precision, and deadly grace. Naturally, he specialized in infiltration and assassination.
What are his specificities?
Spells
Armor Debuff: Weaken enemy defenses, making them more vulnerable to your attacks.
Position Switch Spell: Swap places with an ally or enemy, creating dynamic positioning advantages.
Fog Zone Creation: Conjure fog zones to obscure vision, perfect for setting up devastating combos.
Status Effects: Inflict poison, bleeding, and resistance debuffs to steadily wear down your foes.
Fatigue Management: Kleff inflicts Fatigue on himself regularly, but his combo effects can remove these debuffs, adding an extra layer of strategy.

Unlocked automatically from sector 2.
Starts at level 3, ready to join your team with a head start.

We are delighted to announce that we have made more optimizations to ensure Blade Prince Academy runs even smoother on the Steam Deck since the release. Your feedback highlighted key areas for enhancement, and we’ve focused on making these changes to enhance your experience. Invitation to revisit: If you’ve played Blade Prince Academy on Steam Deck or with a gamepad, we invite you to give it another try. Since the launch, we've added the support of the Playstation gamepad controller as it was requested. Your continued feedback is major, as it will enable us to fine-tune and perfect the game further.
We are striving to achieve the "Steam Deck Verified" status, and we need your help to get there. By playing the game on your Steam Deck and sharing your experiences through reviews and feedback, you can help us demonstrate to Valve that Blade Prince Academy meets the high standards required for this verification.

1/ Mastering chain of command for effective chain reactions
In Blade Prince Academy, strategizing the order of actions is key. Plan a sequence of moves where each action sets off the next, creating a domino effect. This approach is especially effective in battles where timing and order of operations can turn the tide in your favour. Experiment with different combinations to find the most effective chain reactions for various scenarios.
2/ Utilizing the environment to your advantage
Pay attention to environmental elements, like barrels in sector 1, that can be used strategically. Triggering these at the right moment can inflict significant damage on enemies. Use abilities like Phoebos Jump to swiftly move out of the area-of-effect of these environmental hazards, ensuring your safety while damaging foes.
3/ Pact picking for character progession
Choosing the appropriate pact for each character dramatically impacts their performance. For a character like O’Ren, opting for a pact that boosts attack speed can be highly beneficial. This enhancement allows him to shoot faster, thereby increasing his damage output over time. It's essential to evaluate how each pact complements a character’s unique abilities and combat style, especially when considering long-term playthrough strategies. This foresight in pact selection can make a significant difference in both offensive and defensive scenarios.
4/ Understanding and utilizing combos
Early on, experiment with basic combos to understand how different attacks can be combined. Pay close attention to the tooltips of each attack, which provide valuable information on potential combinations and effects. Mastering combos can significantly increase your effectiveness in battles, allowing for more powerful and efficient attacks.
5/ Strategic movement and placement
Positioning is crucial in Blade Prince Academy. Always be mindful of your surroundings to avoid enemy charge attacks and friendly fire. Use movement strategically to maintain a favourable position, both for offensive actions and defensive manoeuvres. Learning to anticipate enemy moves and adjusting your placement accordingly can be a game-changer in tough battles.
