There is currently an idea to integrate Steam Inventory into Bunny Guys!.
For those who are not familiar with the system yet: Players could earn tradable items directly while playing, collect them in their Steam Inventory, use them in-game, and if they are eligible, buy and sell them through the Steam Community Market.
The best part: Even players who received Bunny Guys during the Free-to-Keep promotion would be able to participate in this system. Unlike Steam Trading Cards, all over 4 million owners of Bunny Guys would be included.
Possible content could include:
Rare characters
Cosmetics (e.g. earrings, hats, etc.)
Collectible artwork
Legendary items
Random drops while playing
It is important to me that the system remains fair. It should expand collecting, trading, and customizing your own character while also providing an additional incentive to return to the game regularly.

The next major update for Bunny Guys is just around the corner and brings one of the most requested features to the game: the ability to customize your Bunny.
With this update, one of the community's most requested features finally makes its way into the game: the ability to customize your Bunny.
In this news post, I'd like to give you a small preview of what you can expect in the upcoming updates:
Over 180 cosmetic items for your Bunny
Optional Supporter Pack with 32 exclusive cosmetic items
Improved leaderboard protection against invalid entries
Planned Training Mode with checkpoint saving (not part of the upcoming update)
News about the planned Co-op Mode (not part of the upcoming update)
Over 180 Cosmetic Items
With the upcoming update, you'll be able to customize your Bunny exactly the way you want.
Right from the start, you'll have access to over 180 cosmetic items, including various hats, glasses, masks, backpacks, and many other accessories that can be mixed and matched.
All items are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay. This allows you to create your own unique style without gaining any gameplay advantages.
Of course, this is only the beginning. I plan to continue expanding the selection step by step in future updates.
Optional Supporter Pack
Alongside the update, an optional Supporter Pack will also be released.
It includes 32 exclusive cosmetic items that are only available through the Supporter Pack.
Out of the over 180 cosmetic items available in total, only 32 are exclusive to the Supporter Pack. The vast majority of customization options will be available to all players.
The Supporter Pack offers no gameplay advantages and is intended for everyone who would like to support Bunny Guys while receiving a few exclusive cosmetic items.
If you're interested in the Supporter Pack, I'd really appreciate it if you added it to your wishlist today. It helps me a lot as a solo developer, and you'll be notified as soon as it's released.

Improved Leaderboards
The update also introduces new measures to further improve the integrity of the leaderboards.
An integrated verification system analyzes gameplay for suspicious behavior and detects invalid or manipulated results. Such entries will not be added to the leaderboards.
For obvious reasons, I won't go into detail about how the system works. The goal is to create fair conditions for everyone and make the leaderboards more reliable in the long term.
Additional Improvements
As with every major update, this one also includes numerous bug fixes, optimizations, and smaller improvements designed to further enhance the gameplay experience.
Training Mode (not part of the upcoming update)
By far the most frequently requested feature has been the ability to save your progress at checkpoints.
Since Bunny Guys is primarily a competitive game, I wanted to find a fair compromise.
That's why I'm planning a Training Mode where you'll be able to save your progress at checkpoints. This will allow you to practice difficult sections without having to start over from the very beginning every time.
Since this mode is intended purely for practice, achievements and leaderboard entries will not be available in Training Mode. This keeps the competitive mode fair for everyone.
I hope this approach addresses one of the community's most requested features while preserving the competitive nature of Bunny Guys.
Co-op Mode (not part of the upcoming update)
I'm also continuing to work on the previously announced Co-op Mode.
Many of you have asked for a way to climb together with friends instead of competing against each other. That's exactly what the Co-op Mode is intended to offer.
I'll share more information about it once development has progressed further.

Here's a small look into the future of Bunny Guys. The following roadmap shows some of the planned content and features that are currently being worked on.

Roadmap
New Levels
To keep Bunny Guys fresh and exciting in the long term, more levels are planned.
Each new level is intended to make the climb:
longer
crazier
more challenging.
The number of checkpoints will remain unchanged to ensure the challenge stays intact.
New Game Mode
Currently, there are:
Normal
Hardcore
Another game mode is already in development. I don't want to reveal too much about it yet, but it is intended to provide new challenges and fresh gameplay experiences.
Co-op Mode
One of the most common requests from the community was a mode where friends can win together.
That's why I'm planning a Co-op Mode.
Planned Features:
Climb together with friends
The round only ends once all team members have reached the goal
Before starting, players can choose between Competitive and Co-op
In Competitive Mode, everyone plays for themselves. In Co-op Mode, you work together as a team.
More Interaction
Many players would like to have more ways to interact with each other.
That's why I'm planning additional features to make player interactions more interesting.
And yes... there will also be ways to annoy your friends a little on the way to the top.
Achievements
One of the most discussed topics was achievements.
Part of the community would like to keep their current 100% completion. Others would like to see additional achievements for content that is currently not represented, such as:
Hardcore Mode
Additional Checkpoints
Future Content
After careful consideration, I have decided not to add any new achievements.
I understand that many players would have liked to see additional achievements. At the same time, I want to respect players' existing progress and avoid situations where previously earned 100% completions are lost afterwards.
Therefore, there will only be minor adjustments to the names and descriptions of existing achievements where it makes sense. The total number of achievements will remain unchanged.
In short: There will be no new achievements. Existing achievements may, however, receive visual or naming updates.
Leaderboards
Another important topic is the leaderboards.
It is important to me that records are earned fairly and not achieved through cheats or glitches.
There are currently some records whose legitimacy could be clearly documented and verified. Other best times, however, cannot currently be verified with certainty.
That's why I am working on additional security measures to further reduce manipulation and make the leaderboards fairer overall.
If you have achieved impressive records and can provide video proof, I would be happy to see it. This helps evaluate existing records more accurately and, if necessary, take action against unfair times.
That's why I'm interested in your opinion:

Character Customization
Another community request is the ability to customize your character.

Changes & Improvements
The game files have been further compressed, reducing the overall game size.
Various sections of the level have been visually adjusted and optimized.
The Glass Bridge has been reworked:
The elements you walk across are now spaced further apart, creating a greater challenge.
The visual snow wind now has matching sound effects for a better atmosphere.
The chainsaws have also been equipped with new sound effects.
The mattress texture has been revised once again.
The beds still retain the cross in the center.

Your Requests Are Here: Respawn Button, Steam Deck, Climb & Settings Update

today I have released another new update for you. In addition to several bug fixes, various requests and suggestions from the community have also been implemented. There are also some smaller improvements and optimizations designed to further enhance the overall gameplay experience.
Main Menu
The main menu has been slightly reorganized to make navigation clearer and more intuitive. From now on, you can find the Graphics, Sound, Controls, and Language sections separately under the Settings menu.
In addition, you will now find a small book containing various tips. This section is still under development and will be expanded further in future updates.
Graphics Settings
Bunny Guys! was already running smoothly for many players. However, users with older hardware occasionally experienced performance issues.
Until now, the game exclusively used TSR (Temporal Super Resolution), which is not always the best option, especially on older systems. Therefore, you can now choose between multiple anti-aliasing methods:
TSR
TAA
FXAA
MSAA
This gives you more control over the balance between visual quality and performance, allowing you to optimize the game for your specific hardware.
Steam Deck
Good news for Steam Deck players: Bunny Guys! has now been officially rated as "Playable" by Steam. If the corresponding badge is not yet visible in the store for you, it should appear automatically within the next few days.
The Steam Deck compatibility report also mentioned that the game still required some optimization for Steam Deck. Therefore, I took a closer look at the reported issues and made several adjustments.
From now on, the game automatically detects whether it is running on a desktop PC or a Steam Deck when launched. Similar to PC, suitable default settings will be applied on the first startup.
The following default settings are now used for Steam Deck:
Anti-Aliasing: TAA
Graphics Quality: Medium
Resolution: 1280 × 800
Of course, you can adjust these settings at any time according to your preferences.
One of the biggest performance factors on Steam Deck was TSR. With the new default settings and the additional graphics options, the gameplay experience should now be significantly smoother.
Controls
Under Settings -> Controls, you will now find the additional control options that many players have requested.
Newly added options include:
Mouse Sensitivity
Gamepad Sensitivity
Invert Mouse Axis
Invert Gamepad Axis
This allows you to customize the controls even more precisely to match your personal preferences.
Climbing
Climbing is one of the core elements of the game. The corresponding stones are among the obstacles that many players consider particularly challenging.
At first glance, they can sometimes seem unpredictable. In reality, however, the shape of the stone plays a crucial role. Depending on where and how you land, the bunny will find different amounts of grip. If you do not take the surface into account, you will quickly slide off again.
With this update, I have made a small adjustment to the climbing system. Climbing should now feel a bit more reliable without reducing the overall difficulty. The challenge remains the same, while the controls and behavior on the stones feel more consistent.
Respawn Button
One of the most frequently requested features was a respawn button to skip long falling sequences. However, a fair balance between convenience and gameplay fairness had to be found.
Players should be able to use the feature without it becoming an exploitable advantage. Therefore, the respawn button is not available at all times. Instead, the game monitors the duration of a fall. If the system detects that you are in a prolonged fall, the respawn button will automatically appear.
After triggering a respawn, you will be returned to the last checkpoint you reached. This helps avoid unnecessarily long waiting times without affecting the challenge or fairness of the game.
Checkpoints
In rare cases, a bug could occur that incorrectly sent players back to Checkpoint 1 of the map, even though they had not reached it yet. This issue has been fixed.
However, I will continue to monitor this behavior to ensure that no similar issues occur in the future. If you notice anything unusual, please let me know.
Checkpoint Lock System
Since many players reported that older checkpoints could still be registered when accidentally passing through them, I have now introduced a checkpoint lock system.
For example, if you have already reached Checkpoint 5 and then fall down, accidentally running through Checkpoint 3 will now be ignored and will no longer be saved as your current checkpoint.
This ensures that previously reached checkpoints cannot be replaced by older ones. As a result, your progress will no longer be overwritten if you accidentally pass through an earlier checkpoint.
Hardcore Mode – Checkpoints
A bug was reported here that, in rare cases, could cause players in Hardcore Mode to spawn at a checkpoint even though no checkpoint should have been available there.
This issue has been fixed and should no longer occur.
Countdown
A small adjustment has also been made to the countdown system. More options are now available for selecting the countdown start time.
This gives you greater flexibility in determining how long the countdown should run before a round begins. Depending on the chosen setting, players now have more time to join an upcoming round and participate before it starts.
Key Binding Display
In the settings menu, two gamepad icons were displayed incorrectly. These have now been corrected.
Gamepad
The button mapping for Zoom and Sprint has been adjusted. Sprint is now assigned to LT, while Zoom is assigned to RT.
I believe this layout feels more comfortable and intuitive than before.
Languages
All supported languages have also been updated to reflect the new menu structure and changes, ensuring that all new features and settings are displayed correctly across every language.
The currently supported languages are:
Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
Optimizations
In addition, several smaller optimizations have been made to further improve the game's performance. Most of you probably have not noticed any performance issues, but I still want to continuously improve performance wherever possible.
One of my goals is to ensure that players with older computers or less powerful hardware can enjoy the smoothest possible gameplay experience.
Leaderboard Display
A small adjustment has also been made to the leaderboard. In some cases, longer player names could cause the leaderboard layout to shift unexpectedly.
This issue has been fixed, and the leaderboard should now display correctly in all situations.
Miscellaneous
Several additional minor improvements have also been made, some of which may not be immediately noticeable. For example, certain red blocks have been slightly widened in specific areas to provide better footing for the character.
Various other small adjustments and optimizations have also been implemented to make the overall gameplay experience feel more enjoyable and consistent.

Over the past few weeks, many new players have tried Bunny Guys. Because of that, I would like to answer some frequently asked questions and share a few tips about certain mechanics that often cause confusion.

What did you enjoy most about Bunny Guys?

I have also heard your requests for more maps. At the moment, I am taking things a little slower while already working on new updates and improvements for the game in the background.
For me, the last two weeks have also been a complete 180-degree turn. For almost three years, Bunny Guys was more of a small game flying under the radar. Suddenly, thousands of players tried the game, and the community grew enormously in a very short time.
About Bunny Guys!
Bunny Guys is not a relaxing climbing game, even if it may look like one. At its core, it is about endurance, precision, and perseverance. Whether you are competing with other players or simply against yourself, the pressure to keep going despite setbacks and the desire to reach the goal no matter what are essential parts of the experience.
Mistakes, setbacks, and stressful situations are intentionally part of the game.
Tips
The following examples show some areas that are often misunderstood and should help you better understand the climb. Further below, there are two videos that may help you as well.
The infamous rocks
These rocks are among the obstacles that many players find especially challenging.
At first glance, they may sometimes seem unpredictable, but the shape of the rock actually plays an important role. Depending on where and how you land, the bunny can find different amounts of grip. If you do not pay attention to the surface, you can quickly slip off again.
If every landing worked automatically, there would hardly be any challenge left at this point. That is exactly why these rocks are so tricky.
The following image shows an example of a more favorable and a less favorable position.
Jumping off platforms
Position also plays an important role when jumping off platforms. It is important not to step beyond the edge, even if it may not always feel that way from your perspective.
Especially in stressful situations, it can happen that the bunny is already slightly sticking out over the platform. Even small differences in position can affect the jump and make jumps more difficult than expected.
To illustrate this, I have prepared some images that show the difference between a favorable and an unfavorable position.
Using the mattress
This mattress is a tough one, I know, many of you absolutely cannot stand it.
Here too, position plays an important role. If you jump too far to the left or right onto the mattress, you will be launched in that direction accordingly. If you land as close to the center as possible, the bunny will bounce much straighter upward. If you are positioned a little further forward, you can direct the jump more strongly forward.
Another important point: Hold the sprint key (Shift) while jumping and keep your movement direction. This gives the bunny additional momentum, which can make the jump much easier.
As with many obstacles in Bunny Guys, this also applies here: With a bit of practice, the mattress becomes much more predictable than it first appears.
Grabbing onto objects
In general, the bunny can grab onto most objects in the game. On these platforms, the red-marked areas serve as the intended grab zones.
The light-marked surfaces, however, cannot be grabbed.
The reason for this is simple: If you could grab onto all surfaces, certain obstacles and jumping sections could be bypassed, which would remove part of the challenge.
The images show the difference between a valid and an invalid position for grabbing.
Spectator mode
Some players were a bit confused when joining servers because, after connecting, they could only fly through the world with the camera.
This is the spectator mode. With this camera, you can watch other players during their ongoing run.
Why does spectator mode exist?
When you join a server, it may be that the round has already started. In that case, you can no longer actively participate in the ongoing round and will automatically be placed into spectator mode.
If the lobby is still in the countdown, however, you can join the session normally and participate in the round.
Planned improvements
I will improve the server list and spectator mode a bit in the future so that it is easier to see which servers have already started and which ones you can still actively join.

Slow Motion Mode
One of the most common requests from the community was the ability to use a slow motion mode. I’ve now implemented this feature!
With Slow Motion Mode, you can slow down your character’s gameplay and enjoy a completely new gaming experience.
Note: Slow Motion Mode is only available in Singleplayer and cannot be used in Multiplayer.
Hardcore Mode
Hardcore Mode was also requested by many of you, and of course I’ve added it as well. For those players who think I still need to turn up the challenge a notch.
You wanted a Hardcore Mode that removes all checkpoints. Now you have the chance to prove what you’re capable of and see who can achieve the best time. Every decision matters!
Anyone looking for an especially challenging gameplay experience can now take on this crazy mode.

I’ve also added a short piece of information below each player’s name. This now shows which game mode is currently being played.
Hardcore Leaderboard
In addition to Hardcore Mode, there is now a dedicated Hardcore leaderboard display.
Using the Steam leaderboards, you can view all rankings and compare your position with other players.
Hardcore Mode is also linked to the normal leaderboard. If you achieve a better time in Hardcore Mode than your current personal best on the normal leaderboard, it will automatically be updated there as well.
Important: If you play in the normal game mode, your progress will not count toward the Hardcore leaderboard.
Bloom Option
I’ve frequently read in your reviews that many of you would like the option to disable the bloom effect.
From now on, you can adjust this setting directly in the graphics settings according to your personal preferences.
Language Improvements
Translations have been revised and various improvements have been made for the following languages:
German, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Arabic, Greek, Bulgarian, Turkish, Romanian, Czech, Hungarian, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Dutch, Danish, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Japanese, Russian, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Spanish (Spain), Korean, Italian, French, and English.
Fixes
Of course, I’ve also fixed several smaller issues.
Among other things, the character occasionally had a habit of holding onto the circular saw. While it looked quite funny, it definitely wasn’t part of the crazy game design.

I have also fully translated the Steam store page into all available languages to avoid possible misunderstandings and make the content easier to understand for all players.
