Hello everyone, we're now exiting beta and moving to the full public release. I can't apologise enough for the delays around this one, but now, it is officially ready!

This update primarily focuses on expanding upon the main story… with The Tarbecks part II and a major side quest, THE DREAM HOUSE.

Apologies for the recent radio silence. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of artwork, programming, discussions with the publisher, and preparing what's coming next.

There's good news, bad news, and, well... news.

The road is long... but it leads to many paths...

I'm going to start with the bad news...

The bad news is, we are currently behind schedule on the public release of this update. While we're working tirelessly to push things out, I vastly ovestimated how much we could get done and achieve in the time we have while staying on schedule... That is on me, the full public release will be around mid August, I cannot give an exact date. I'd rather release this update properly than rush it out half finished.

The good news...

is I am not leaving players on a lurch. It isn't fair on you guys to continue waiting for a full release even longer, with nothing to show for it, so... We have updated the beta branch with what we call beta 2.0.

Beta 2.0 contains the full tarbecks part 2 quest including Lady Tarbeck's post romance route. - It is currently missing the other two routes for her character.

It also contains the travel inns, (three of them) which will now be accessible travelling through forest regions, where, three lovely maidens will be waiting to help ease your journeys... for a price.

Other news:

1.) After talks with the publisher, I can confirm in the coming months we will be launching some small content packs, these have been in the pipeline with the developer and were agreed upon many moons ago, but we've just been so busy trying to move the needle forward with the game... I can confirm now though, you should hopefully see them soon, and we hope you guys like and enjoy what we've prepared!

These are not full expansions, but those are coming eventually too.

2.) Yes... After the full public release of this update, the next update will focus on Regina and returning to Novaras, as well as moving the story forward.

3.) We're continuing to expand upon localizations, bug-hunting, and will have more announcements to make soon. In the meanwhile, here's one or two teasers of what's to come shortly...

... But that's not all, not when we also have the pending release of GRIM DAYS, coming soon...

First of all, sorry for the lack of news! As you can imagine, we've been hard at work preparing the next release, and today we've got a few important updates to share.

Beta Update

The beta build is now feature-complete for the core content, but we're currently finishing the post-romance content for Lady Tarbeck and the fortress inns.

Rather than rushing it, we've decided to extend this beta period from 7 days to 14 days. This gives us enough time to finish the remaining romance scenes, fortress inns, while also polishing a few additional quality-of-life improvements before the public release.

We appreciate everyone's patience—we'd rather release something we're proud of than rush content out the door.

What's next?

After this update, development moves back to the main story. Players will journey deeper into the Demorai Empire, learn more about the Emperor and the War of the Gods, and finally return to Novaras.

We will also be focused primarily on Regina's update.

Right now, things are very, very hectic right now with a lot of work on-going. I just wanted to touch base with you guys to let you know about some of the progress and fun stuff we're working on in the meanwhile.

First and foremost, I'd like to introduce some of the travel-barmaids! You may remember during one of the quests at the adventurers guild it talked about small armored inns along the roads for merchants and travellers to stop at. Well, one thing we DO want to introduce is that on your travels, there's a chance you will be able to run into one of these inns to spend the night there, AND... perhaps the barmaid working there may be interested in providing 'additional evening entertainment' ... For a price. Obviously travel is treacherous in PB, so this is a fun way to help the player rest, re-stock and potential deal with 'other needs' and should make the world feel more dynamic... Who knows what other interesting characters may lurk about in these frontier inns?

The quest artwork continues to come along smoothly, there's a lot of it, but I'm super excited to get to playtest it myself when it's ready. Here is a few more teasers from The Tarbecks Part II and The Dream house quest.

The Dream House continues to be one of the strangest and darkest side quests in Parasite Black so far. Things only get more unsettling from here...

Also, two more 'fun' things to show off in the meanwhile. First, is some more of Nijah's scenes being remade. Yes, yes, some people groan about remaking old scenes, but they were created before our Steam launch while we were still refining the game's visual style. Thus, many older scenes must be remade to match our current standards/aethestic.

Also, for the one person who keeps asking me when the 'feminine charm' (turn into a gal) perk is actually going to get the player laid, congratulations, arts on the way. :D

Anyway, other than that there is way more exciting news on the horizon but I'll go into more detail on that soon, we hope you guys are well and are pleased with the progress we're making so far. AND some exciting news on the manga!

We have some great quality of life improvements planned, more deep lore, quests, items, weapons, music, pretty much everything planned to hopefully elevate this game to the next level.

Now we have a moment, I thought it would be a good time to touch base and talk a bit about future plans, and important upcoming changes and more.

First and foremost, we're delighted so far at the reception to 'Big trouble in little Hamun' - We're glad that mostly everyone seems to have enjoyed our verry mouthy red-haired dwarf.

However, we unfortunately must push back the next update from the end of May to the end of June. I don't do this lightly, between staff illness, staff moving homes, and other staff on holiday, we are not able to guarantee the end of May deadline.

As such, The next update is re-scheduled for June 30th. We hope you understand and hope the next update will more than make up for the lateness.

The next update, we're aiming to achieve 3 things:

1.) -Some small Ingrid content to flesh her out a bit more including whether you left to her fate or told her to head to The Pale Dragon.

2.) -A new side quest 'The Dream House' - 'Hired by the beautiful Faymore merchants to retrieve their kidnapped daughter, the player finds himself trapped in a haunted house where the girls worst nightmares are bought to life...'

3.) -Continuing the main story with 'The Tarbeck's part II' - (Either this update or the next the player will then get to return to Novaras depending how we do).

We're currently still doing some art revamps, some small, some big but there's always something going on.

One of the bigger things we're looking into is revamping Nijah's old scenes. Many of them no longer fit the aethestic of the game, (they were made by an artist no longer part of development a few years back.)

(WIP - First draft of remake of Nijah Scenes).

Small changes to Sypha model (Below)

(Face softened, eyes widened)

(Sypha waistline thinned and her face tweaked to be more of a match stlyistic).

Some character models, like Garen's will also be recieving a revamp but, as usual we're always fighting against time.
