In this update, we bring you another beautiful car, various other improvements, as well as a long awaited feature: Working wipers and raindrops! Some weaker cars are also tuned by our best players, so they now have a competitive chance. Furthermore, we're proud to announce that Touge Shakai should be getting Steam Deck Verified soon!
New Car: Shin-Gojira
An iteration on the Gojira, the new model focuses on stability and power. As a newer generation, this modern reimagining features an improved dynamic AWD system and tuned suspension, allowing it to put power down like it’s on rails. However, beware: all this new tech comes at a cost — weight!
New feature: Working wipers and raindrops
We've finally managed to complete a long standing feature that was supposed to come out with the rain update, but we hope it was worth the wait! The wipers are able to be controlled manually (you have to bind it yourself for controllers), and the raindrops dynamically react to them. They also react to the environment, such as subtle movements under high speeds, or stopping when going under shelter!

New blur effect for rims
Previously, the spinning rim effects were done by swapping them out for flat, pre-generated blurred discs. However, it always bothered us that it was imperfect, causing slight color-shifts and lighting mismatch. Now, we're really happy with how the new effect turned out, fully dynamic radial blurs applied in real time!

We agree with feedback that it was a little weird for modifying the car in a paint booth, so here's a brand new beautiful garage to work on your cars in! Furthermore, there is a "walk around" mode that you can use to admire your creations, as well as to walk up to each part to modify them directly!

As mentioned before, this update is focused on fixing and addressing issues and improvements, such as car balancing, based on your feedback. Also, to give more meaning to Team Battles, there is one new feature.
New Feature: Team System
Touge Shakai now features a fully-fledged Team System, allowing players to form and join teams once they hit level 50! We've designed this system to bring players together and enhance the competitive experience.
The Team System includes:

Creating & Managing Teams – Players at level 50 can create their own teams, while leaders can approve or reject applications, as well as transfer ownership
Team Battles Integration – Teams are now officially tracked in 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 battles, with stats recorded for battles between registered teams
Team Decal - Upon joining a team, you will automatically have access to the team decal in the garage
Please head to the "Profile" menu to access it. Teams and team battling is an ongoing feature, and we still have plans to expand upon it to make it more interesting. If you have any interesting ideas, please share them with us.
Since this update doesn't have any content drop, here's a little teaser for what we're currently adding to the game!

In this update, we bring to you a brand new feature, which in a sense is somewhat of an entire game by itself: FPV Drones! As well as the longest track to grace Touge Shakai.
New Feature: FPV Drone
Touge Shakai now features an FPV drone which you can fly in game! The simulation was written from scratch after months of research. However, as we're not actual FPV drone pilots, please reach out to us to give feedback if you're a real pilot and would like to see it be even more realistic! We would love for the FPV drone community to join us, as we think they're a great fit for chasing cars attacking the Touge.
The drone is quite fully featured, and includes 3 flight modes:

Acro (Full manual)
Angle
Altitude Hold
As most FPV pilots would say, although it is the toughest, we recommend Acro mode if you can handle it, as it allows the most agile movements to do some moves required to keep up with the fast cars! Note that because the drone is a high performance drone that can hit over 180km/h to keep up with the cars, it is practically impossible to fly with a keyboard, hence only gamepads and joysticks are supported.
The drone is accessible in 2 ways: while watching a saved replay (accessed from the replay menu), or in an online free roam lobby (spectator option in pause menu). We hope that you have as much fun flying, as you do driving in TS!
New Track: Sadamine
We're happy to finally bring you one of our favourite, as well as longest touge course. We feel that Sadamine is a beautiful location, as well as an awesome layout. Enjoy the challenge of this high speed yet technical course, now both on the ground and in the air!
Other Changes and about the next update
We now have a new improved driving HUD (thanks AYLehis!), with more future designs incoming, which you will be able to unlock by playing the game. We will also bring back the old design as an option, if you prefer it! For the next update, we'll be focusing on looking back on the game, such as car balancing, and fixing long standing issues, instead of developing new features that take a long time.

Firstly, apologies for the duration this update took, but it's finally here! In this update, we now have Team Battles, a new car, and a new track!
New Game Mode: Team Battles
You can now join up with your friends and battle as a Team! Team Battles support 2v2 up to 5v5 battles. For now, it is a very basic implementation, and will be expanded upon in the near future to include more different rules of battling, such as concurrent uphill and downhill battles, and allowing players to vote on the lineup to allow more strategies.
New Car: Suisei
At long last, the most requested car to be added is here. Check it out!
New Track: Remade Enna Skyline
Due to production reasons, to complete Enna Skyline we had to remake it from scratch, and now the full length version is here!

It's time for VR ! In our opinion, all cockpit based games should support VR, as they're the best ways to immerse players in the experience. Now, we're proud to say that Touge Shakai supports Virtual Reality ! If you have a headset that works with SteamVR, TS should work with it.

In our opinion, all cockpit based games should support VR, as they're the best ways to immerse players in the experience. Now, we're proud to say that Touge Shakai supports Virtual Reality! If you have a headset that works with SteamVR, TS should work with it. We also believe that TS is one of the most detailed racing games in terms of interior animations, and we're really proud of it. Now, they can be experienced as intended!
In our implementation, all of the regular user interface has been adapted to work within the VR environment, and the menu experiences should be familiar. During scenes that are unsuitable for VR, such as camera panning or third person cameras, the game will render these scenes on a "virtual monitor" to prevent motion sickness.
Just a couple of things to take note of:

Please bind the "Reset VR Position" control within settings before firing up VR
If you have SteamVR installed, enter the game normally and an option to "Activate VR" should be on the main menu
There is a setting to lock the camera to the horizon under "Camera" settings
VR mode is still slightly experimental and there might be some things we have to fix
New Track: Myogi
Another great track from the past has been made for TS, and... it's Myogi! A unique but unusual aspect of this location is that for parts of the course, the sides of the road are flanked by wide and low pavements. It's up to you to exploit them to achieve the best racing line!

Feedback from our testers was that there were many puddles where it made no sense, which made the puddles more of a hindrance than adding to the overall fun. Hence, we've decided to rewrite the system, and now the puddles are hand placed, which was a much more laborious task than we had anticipated. We hope that you guys will now have fun challenging the touge in the wet!
New Track: Tsuchisaka
It's finally time for a new track, and we're happy to announce that Tsuchisaka will now join the roster as one of the custom made maps for TS. In our previous game, Tsuchisaka was one of our favourite tracks, with a great layout, big elevation changes, and slow and high speed sections. We're really excited for it to make a comeback, and believe that it will quickly grow to be one of your favourite tracks here too!
Walltap Penalty System
In the top level of players, a driving style has emerged, whereby to drift the rear of the car into the guardrails to gain time. The penalty system has been updated specifically to detect this exploit, and should generally not affect the penalties of other forms of collision. Gentle wall taps should still not be penalized. Thereby, along with the new track and rain weather, we've decided that it would be a good time to reset the leaderboards. We hope to see a cleaner driving style at the top of the leaderboards soon!
