Small Patch - Patch Notes
Fixes
Fixed an issue where some music tracks were not accessible in the track pool for certain minigames, including Run Pigeon Run and Piano Mezzo Forte. As a result of this fix, more music track options are now accessible for these minigames!
Fixed an issue with the challenge to spend Crumbs, which did not work as intended, as the player would not receive challenge progress when spending Crumbs.
Fixed an issue with the challenge to make purchases in the store, where the challenge would not update if the player bought items too quickly.
Fixed an occasional issue where items that cannot be purchased would not be highlighted in red, appearing purchasable.
We want to thank the community for reporting these issues, especially around the specific music track minigames issue, which we're happy to have fixed in this patch. We hope you enjoy experiencing and sticking to the rhythm of these minigame tracks, especially for the Run Pigeon Run and Piano Mezzo Forte minigames! 🎵

In Battle of the Dancers, the last Pigeon standing wins... or you could say it is Owl or nothing! Your aim to play the music in rhythm, without any mistakes. Hit all buttons in a row without any mistakes and you’ll begin filling up your fireball gauge. When this fills, you’ll send a devastating fireball at your opponent, which lowers their health bar. The pigeon with the most health at the end of the round is the winner and can deal the final blow!
📈 Voting Options, Ranked Mode & More!
When creating our new game mode, we have implemented changes based on community feedback since our launch in October 2023. Battle of the Dancers will include features such as voting options, expanding on the music genres and the addition of a Ranked Mode- all for Battle of the Dancers!

Steam Cloud Saves
For our Season 3 update, we have pushed out a small change to activate the Steam Cloud Saves feature. Unfortunately, we have no control over which save file will be uploaded to the Steam Cloud. We'd recommend to players who've played Headbangers: Rhythm Royale on multiple devices to play first on your device with the local save that you'd want to keep from 4 April 2024 14:00 BST onwards. This is to ensure the correct save file is uploaded to Steam Cloud.
We're excited to implement Steam Cloud Save and for progress to translate between players' multiple devices. For Multi-PC and Steam Deck users, we hope this feature helps you hit all the levels on your new Season 3 Battle Pass!

More dancing Pigeons. You asked for it. We are delivering it! Battle of the Dancers is a brand-new game mode that challenges players to put their best talon forward in a one-on-one rhythm battle and includes a selection of new choreography and tracks.
🕺 How to play:
In Battle of the Dancers, your aim is to play the music in rhythm, with perfect timing and using the correct buttons. Hit all buttons in a row without any mistakes and you’ll begin filling up your fireball gauge. The Season 2 Battle Pass contains all new cosmetics items including new Full Outfits, Individual Items, Taunts, Voices and more!
We've been listening to all players feedback around the Season 1 Battle Pass and it's functionality. From this, we have decided to make some tweaks based off your suggestions! For Season 2, we've increased the amount of XP needed for each individual level. We hope this is a greater challenge for all and that it makes our Battle Pass feel even more rewarding!
Remember Flock, you gain more XP by progressing further in each game of Headbangers so do whatever it takes to stay in each round of rhythm chaos! We hope you are ready to test your Headbangers skills to see if you can unlock our Level 30 Full Costume: The Cinema Pigeon!

Didn't unlock all of the Challenge Skins in Season 1? Don't worry, we've got you! All previous Challenge Skins from Season 1 are featured in Season 2, with all your Challenge progression carrying over from the previous Season.
CRUMBS
We've seen questions from the community regarding Crumbs in Season 2. We want to clarify that your Season 1 Crumbs progression will carry over to Season 2! We've opted to not reset Crumbs progress for multiple reasons. Firstly, players can begin purchasing the new cosmetic items from the very start of the Season. Secondly, we've seen you all working hard to earn more Crumbs even after you've completed the Shop and bought all the cosmetic items in Season 1. This dedication to Headbangers is amazing and deserves to be celebrated. We are genuinely grateful for the amount of hours you've played our Rhythm Battle Royale game for!

The third hotfix is now live for Headbangers: Rhythm Royale for all platforms! Hotfix 3 reduces the lobby timer to 60 seconds and contains fixes to the lobby backfill bugs, fixes to specific challenges and more.
Before we soar into more information around the hotfix, we would like to inform the community that the team are working on an issue surrounding a network error, preventing some players from launching the game. Once we have a fix, we will update the community with this news. We hope to have a fix for this soon across all platforms and appreciate the community's patience while we remedy this issue.
Hotfix 3 - Lobby Changes:
After listening to players' feedback from our launch week, we have altered the lobby timer and fixed an issue surrounding lobby backfill! 🤟
At launch, our lobby timer was set to 120 seconds. Many players stated that this timer was too long, that players were leaving lobbies before the two-minute mark and that we should reduce this timer. With Hotfix 3, we have reduced this timer to 60 seconds. Now, players will spend less time in the lobby menu and more time playing our rhythm minigames! 🎧
On our October 31st launch, many community members noticed a bug around players leaving lobbies. When a player left an open lobby, a bug caused the lobby to never refill back to 30 players. In Hotfix 3, we have fixed this issue with server backfill. With Hotfix 3, if players leave during the timer screen, the lobby can still fill back to 30 players. Full lobbies for all! 🥳

Reduced the lobby waiting time to 60 seconds.
Fixed an issue with the server backfill to ensure remaining free slots in a lobby are filled with players.
Fixed an issue where the challenge outfit for the Aubergine skin would not unlock if a disconnection occurs.
Fixed an issue around Crumb Unlocks. Future crumb level unlocks in the battle pass will be rewarded as the bug around Crumb Unlocks, which would sometimes not be awarded, is now fixed.*
Fixed an issue where the sound effects would be missing when using the Team17 overlay.
*At this moment, we have fixed this issue for future Crumbs Level unlocks. If you unlocked a crumbs pack before Hotfix 3 and encountered this issue, your Crumb total will not be fixed. We will continue the investigation into this issue and provide further information around this bug in the future.

PATCH NOTES - HOTFIX 1
All Platforms
Improvements to the target movement in First Piano Shooter.
Fixed an issue in Run Pigeon Run, where bots would complete the game with a negative score, if players disconnect during the minigame.
Fixed an issue in The Space Race where players may notice a brief hiccup when the vinyl restarts.
Fixed an issue in Garden Party and After Party where the play-head disappeared during the listen phase.
Steam Only
Fixed an issue where some connected USB peripheral devices could cause the title to crash.
KNOWN ISSUES
Our team is aware of an issue producing a network error, preventing players from launching the game. We apologise for this inconvenience and can assure you this is a priority for us to remedy in a future hotfix.
When we have a fix for this, we will make sure to update the community here on Steam.

About Headbangers
Have you ever looked at a Pigeon and thought, “what is going on in your head?” Well, think no more! Headbangers puts you and 29 others into the eye of the Pigeon while you battle it out in rhythmic challenges to find out who is the ultimate Master Headbanger. Headbangers challenges players to take on 29 player-controlled Pigeons across four increasingly tense rounds, testing their memory, rhythm, reflexes, reaction time, and most importantly… their ability to rap! Want to see more of the Pigeon mayhem? Check out our brand-new launch trailer below:
In Headbangers: Rhythm Royale, players battle through four rounds, with each round increasing in difficulty. In round one, 30 players go head-to-head, with only 20 players advancing to the second round of Headbangers. For the first round, a minigame is randomly selected out of the pool of first round minigames.
BE THE STAR OF A GAME SHOW!
One of the six first-round minigame options is ‘Guess it!’. In this minigame, your agility and musical ability are put to the test! The goal in ‘Guess it!’ is to select the instruments you hear in each musical excerpt as quickly as possible.
At the start of the minigame, you will hear one musical instrument per sequence. When the instrument wheel appears, select the instrument you just heard!
As the minigame progresses, musical sequences will get tougher! Each sequence will contain more musical instruments. At first, this jumps to two instruments per sequence. Near the end of the minigame, you’ll need to identify three instruments per sequence! Flock, we hope you know your maracas from the cello! 🤭
A PIGEON FITNESS TEST?
In the second-round of Headbangers, new skills will be assessed! In ‘Fitness’, your memory and reactions will be tested as you soar into a pigeon fitness class. Your job is to memorise, and then reproduce the fitness coach’s moves and rhythm.
At the start of ‘Fitness’, the coach will only move in one or two directions. This minigame is scored by how accurately you reproduce the coach’s movements. Your score is shown as a percentage at the end of each sequence, with the total accuracy shown in the top left corner!
Deeper into the round, the coach will move in many different directions, throwing in pauses along the way. Don’t get caught out by the coach repeating directions multiple times or by the coach’s sudden changes in movement! Only ten pigeon players can progress to the next round of Headbangers!
RACE TO THE FINISH!
Five Pigeon-players head into the final round of Headbangers. However, only one pigeon can claim the victory and become the Master Headbanger! In fourth and final round minigame ‘The Final Ride’, players' rhythm skills are tested! Your goal is to copy and play along with the rhythmic sequences to move your chariot forward.
Like many Headbangers minigames- as you get further into the minigame, the round will get harder! The tempo of each musical sequence will increase as you progress through ‘The Final Ride’. The amount of buttons you’ll need to hit per sequence will increase. Remember, the first pigeon to the finish wins the tournament!
‘The Final Ride’ is one of the five final-round minigame options. Headbangers has so much replayability, with 23 varied minigames at launch!

This includes items available in our free shop. As you play rounds of Headbangers, you will gain our free in-game currency called Crumbs. Each skin requires players to complete several in-game challenges to unlock specific skins! Track your progress in the challenge tab in the main menu of Headbangers.
