We’re excited to announce that Simplified Chinese language support is now available for Loco Motive!
Over the past few months we’ve been working closely with Albert Wei (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Animal Well) to deliver a high quality translation of the source material.
Loco Motive has roughly 80,000 words, which is the length of a typical novel - so this has been no small feat! A big thank you also to Yiling Tang and Denis Andriushechkin at Riotloc for providing LQA!

Great news, folks! We’ve been shortlisted for Visual Innovation of the Year in the upcoming 2025 MCV/DEVELOP Awards, taking place in London, UK on June 19, 2025.
The MCV/DEVELOP Awards have been around for over 20 years, and aim to recognise the successes of the UK games industry in every area that it excels. We worked on Loco Motive for close to four years, so it’s immensely cool to be recognised by our peers, and to be nominated alongside some incredible titles. We've crunched the numbers and we're so excited to share that Loco Motive has now sold over 30,000 copies across PC and Nintendo Switch. After a short post launch break over the holidays, we jumped back into things last week and are now looking towards our next major update for Loco Motive.
1.0.4 was successful in addressing the majority of issues reported by our community after launch, but we still have a few sneaky lingering bugs to investigate. Our first priority will be to fix remaining issues and continue to improve the player experience.
In the new year we were humbled to recieve the Adventure Game Of The Year award from The Adventure Game Hotspot, and to have received six nominations in the upcoming AGOTY Awards,
We deeply appreciate all of the feedback and support we’ve received so far!
Quality Of Life Update
Outside of bug squashing, we’re working towards a bigger Quality of Life Update which will take into account the community feedback we’ve received post launch.
This update will include:

UI fixes
Minor puzzle enhancements
New Features
Reworked Autosave for a better experience with save games.
That’s not an exhaustive list, but we’ll be sharing more details in an upcoming dev blog!

Thanks to all of your helpful feedback and reports, we believe we’ve pinpointed the cause of the soft-locking issues. These should now be resolved, and we can’t thank you enough for your patience while we worked on these fixes!
Here’s a rundown of the changes:

fixed soft locks caused by incorrect handling of cancelled interactions
fixed soft lock that could occur when clicking multiple times on don's broken door
fixed rare soft lock when interacting with sister Gretchen and brother Jared in chapter two
fixed soft lock where the band could get stuck in a loop when entering green room in chapter four
fixed threading issue that could occur when interacting with the band members
fixed soft lock that could occur when rapidly clicking on the casino patrons
fixed potential threading issues when showing the perfumed note to characters

Jack is a Welsh actor and Voice Actor originally from Cardiff, South Wales. Jack has established himself as a versatile and rising voice actor for video games and character voices having featured in almost 40 video game titles as of 2024, including Baldur’s Gate III and Black Myth: Wukong.
Samantha Béart as April Benelli
Samantha is a BAFTA and DICE nominated, GANG Award-winning actor. In the world of videogames, they are best known for their role as Karlach in Baldur’s Gate III, but you may also know them as Thomasina in the critically acclaimed adventure game “The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow”.
Sally Beaumont as Beverly Moore, Sister Gretchen, Quinn Morgan, Florence Schreiber, Pearl Wexler, Shelly Gedling
Sally is a voice actor living in Oxford, UK and no stranger to voicing adventure game characters, having played a wide range across 30+ video game titles. The dust has finally settled on Steam Next Fest, and we couldn't be happier with the response to the demo! thank you to everyone who played, streamed on Twitch, told a friend and provided feedback!
Loco Motive was in the top 50 titles under the 'Most Wishlisted Upcoming Games' tab, meaning we featured in the top 1.41% of all games that participated!
