Bear Dens, and Tuning
Dens:

Bears now try to set up a Den under a Dead Tree.
Bears will pick Den sites that best satisfy their needs and are also away from the homestead as much as possible. (Usually near a river, berry bushes, or mushroom patches)
Dens with Bears inside will show up as hot on the temperature overlay.
If an occupied Bear Den is approached, the bear will emerge to defend it.
When Bears travel far from their dens to find food, they will return to the den area after their needs are fulfilled.
This means that the further from the Den, in the lower the bear activity is likely to be, but they can still be drawn by rotting garbage for example.
Increased the Smell range for Bears by 50% so they can detect rotten garbage etc. further from the den to go eat it.
Dens locations will be remembered by their owner, but once the owner dies, the Den will expire. A new Bear may move into the same spot though if it was a prime location.
A Den is destroyed when the Dead Tree above it is cut down.
When a Den is destroyed, the Bear will lose half of its territory bar but also max out its fight bar.
Since a Bear patrols the area around its den the most, it is likely a good idea to lure the bear away before trying to remove the Dead Tree to destroy the den.
Dens will also expire under circumstances that would make the den undesirable to the bear, this will lead to them seeking a new location as well.
Torches or buildings near the den, or it being in a location that the bear can no longer reach will make the den undesirable and it will be abandoned.
Bear Tuning:

Allow Bears is now a World Map Setting for New Game Startup so it is easier to find.
Bears are defaulted to off.
If a Bear's Story line concludes via events, or hunting, a repeat of that story element will now not happen for 5 years
Bears will not arrive until year 3 now.
Older saves will read whatever the Bear gameplay setting last was and apply it to the world map for newly loaded games.
Bears can still be turned on and off in Settings/Gameplay as well on a per World basis.
Other:

Changed many of the toggle buttons such that the entire toggle element will show the help text when moused over instead of just the small toggle box itself.
Clicking on the text will also toggle the button as well now.
Fixed Bees leaving node reservations behind when their tasks aborted and they were looking for a dead tree to inhabit.

Fixed Clanfolk that are hiding in houses to escape Bears panic running instead of slowly moving while carefully watching in direction of bear.
Changed, Clanfolk hiding inside from Bear outside state so it will clear after a short time, allowing work to still get done if it is safe elsewhere.
Clanfolk out is the line of sight of a Bear but still in standoff mode will now move quickly to find an escape door while they are unseen.
Clanfolk now not allowed to pick tasks in rooms behind doors that are closely guarded by bears. They should take another route to get there.
Clanfolk will now not try to hide behind doors that do not lead to rooms. So no hiding behind a free standing door in a field.
Bears will now only Standoff against Clanfolk they can see (instead of just by distance).
Once the Bear knows about a Clanfolk, they will remember them and track them even around corners until they get into a room though.
This means that a Standoff bear will follow Clanfolk around corners once they know about them, but they will not standoff against Clanfolk on the other side of a house that they have never seen.
Lowered Food Conditioning Affliction Timers but made the per second change much higher. So Food Conditioning only lasts 10 seconds instead of 500, but over that 10 seconds the change per sec is much higher.
Lowered Habituation Gain from Humans Nearby from 5 -> 1 per second. The Habituation has been growing way too quickly.
Lowered Angry Affliction on Bears from 1000 -> 500 Seconds.
Bear Being Chased Affliction now lowers Habituation 10 -> 20 per second, but beware this makes the bear very angry over time.
Dog Barking will lower Habituation from 0 -> 2 per sec now.
Loud Music will lower Habituation from 0 -> 5 per sec now.
These changes should help keep habituation under control now.
Please let me know if Habituation is still getting too high too fast and I will continue to tune, thanks!

Fixed Bear blocking crafting stations in rooms close to but not containing the bear.
Fixed Bears getting stuck in rooms. On saves with them stuck, they should find a way out now.
Fixed Bears chasing Clanfolk into houses
Made Bears in Aggressive mode not constantly gaining Flight (Courage) bar because it was getting them stuck in towns instead of leaving.
Lowered Bear Hive detection range by 30%
Made Hive Eating provide more calories to the Bears so total destruction is less likely.

Hi Everyone,

Update 20 is all about Bears, their Behaviors, and their developing Stories. So, I spent a bunch of time researching Bears and fell into another rabbit hole. Here is the result!

The Bears have a unique set of Behaviors that simulate the the natural drives and reactions of real bears. The goal was to make bears as realistic as possible instead of having them just be aggressive monsters.

I will describe life with bears in detail below, but rest assured it is possible to coexist with the bears if desired. You can also scare them away, or hunt them if feeling foolhardy.

If you want to avoid Bears completely, you can also turn them off in Settings/Gameplay.

Story wise, the Bears are fully tracked, just like people, and remember everything that has happened to them. Currently there are two "story" bears, each with three story stages that unfold over three years, but that will expand in time as well.

Hooking the bears up to the Story Generator will allow for interesting longer term encounters with Bears, getting to know them over time as they roam their territory. Bears add some spice to the Homestead when they wander in, and probably some relief when they finally leave, but their return should feel familiar and maybe a bit nostalgic as their story develops.

Note: You do not need to start a new game for Bears to appear. The only requirement for them to appear is that it is year 2+ and the right season.

Also: There will be some behavioral oddities with the Bears for the next few days. I am working hard on ironing these out and will be pushing small patches. Since their behaviors are so complex, there is a lot of emergence between Bears, Cubs, Clanfolk, and Deerhounds which can lead to situations that I had not accounted for. But if anything, these situations will be odd/entertaining for the most part :)
Overview:
The Bears:
Artis:
Artis is a young female bear who is still quite Timid and Unsure around Humans. Her Habituation and Food Conditioning are nil. If she does not learn any bad habits, she should not be a large threat.
Spawn Requirement: Year 2+, Spring Day 2, Sunset
Mathan:
Mathan is much older, larger, and has little patience for Humans. He sees Humans as an easy source of food, and he knows they flee at the sight of him. Mathan is a menace, but his intense fear of Fire can be used to manage where he wanders.
Spawn Requirement: Year 2+, Autumn Day 2, Sunset
Bear Simulation:
Bears track five new attribute bars to simulate real world Bear behavior.

Territory: Decrease this bar to zero and the Bear will move on, for a while.
Habituation: This is how safe a Bear feels around Humans.
Food Conditioning: This is how much a Bear associates Humans with an easy meal.
Standoffs: When Bears encounter Humans, a Standoff will occur. The result will be Fight or Flight
Fight: Once full, the Bear Attacks. Initial value based on Food Conditioning.
Flight: Once Drained the Bear Flees. Initial value based on Habituation.
Additional Info:

Courage: A Bear Standoff takes Courage, which is based on the Intimidation Skill.
Panic: If Courage gets too Low, the Clanfolk will Panic and Run, this triggers the Bear's Hunting Instinct.
Scaring Bears: It is much safer to Scare a Bear from a distance than to hunt it, the Wecht Drum or Bagpipes will work for this.
Drum?!?: Yes, there is a new instrument!
Fire and Torchlight: Great for keeping bears away from an area.
Deerhounds: Great protectors, and their barking helps to Scare Bear away.
Poking the Bear: Do not mess with an Angry Bear.
Garbage: Bears love it.
I don't want Bears: They can be turned off in Settings/Gameplay.

Digging Deeper:
Attributes Details:
Territory:
The Territory Bar represents how confident the Bear feels in the area. The goal with this bar is to cause it to drain as quickly as possible so the Bear moves on.

When the Territory Bar reaches zero, the Bear will leave the area.
When a Bear is Hunted or Scared, the Territory Bar will decrease.
Noise from the Homestead will also lower the Territory Bar over time, but as Habituation increases, the Bear will see Noise as less of a threat.
Bears will also leave to make a Den for the Winter.
Habituation:
This simulates how comfortable the Bear is around Humans. Habituated bears are not necessarily aggressive, but they do not see humans as a threat. This brings them into closer contact though which can lead to bad outcomes.
Keeping Habituation low is important. A Habituated Bear gets closer and stands its ground longer. This leaves more time for the Clanfolk's courage to deteriorate, causing a flee which will result in a bear charging due to instinct.

As Habituation Increases, the Bear will get Closer and will maintain a Standoff Longer.
Habituation increases slowly over time as the Bear gets used to Human settlement noise.
Habituation will increase quickly if a Human panics and runs from a Bear.
Habituation Decreases when a Bear Flees from Humans due to a Standoff or Injury.
Flight Response:
The Flight Bar can be seen as the Bear's Courage when dealing with Humans. Habituation determines how full the Flight bar will get. Another good reason to keep Habituation low.
When a Standoff happens, the Flight bar will decreased based on what the Human (and helpful Deerhound) are doing. Hopefully the Flight Bar drains before the Fight Bar fills.

The Flight Bar will Drain during a Standoff, and when it reaches zero, the Bear will Flee the Standoff.
Over time, the Flight Bar will increase again to a value determined by Habituation.
Food Conditioning:
The Food Conditioning Bar shows how much the Bear sees Human settlements as a place to get an easy meal.

A Food Conditioned Bear is Dangerous.
Food Conditioning creates more Habituation as the Bear is drawn to Human areas for food.
As Habituation increases, the Bear gets closer, eventually the Bear sees the Humans as a competitor for the Food and has lost all Fear.
Food Conditioning cannot be decreased.
Fight Response:
The Fight Bar tracks how close the Bear is to charging. Once the Fight Bar fills, the standoff is over and the Bear will do its best to attack and remove the perceived threat.
Unless there is a doorway nearby or a loyal Deerhound ready to intercept the Bear, someone is in for pain.

When the Fight Bar is full, the Bear will Charge and Attack.
During a Standoff, the Fight Bar will increase, and its initial value is determined by Food Conditioning.
Standoffs:

A Standoff occurs when a Bear and a Human get too close to each other.
When a Standoff happens, two bars will appear below the Bear, Gold for Flight, and Red for Fight.
When the Gold bar drains, the Bear will Flee. When the Red bar fills, the Bear will Charge.
The Human in the Standoff will also have a Gold bar that shows their Courage.
The initial value of the Courage bar increases with higher Intimidation Skill.
As the Standoff progresses, the Human will try to back away safely, but if the Courage bar reaches zero, they will Panic and Flee.
If Courage is below 25% and a Bear charges, the Human will also Flee.
Humans playing dead will not be mauled as much as those who are caught while fleeing.
Hunting Bears:

When Hunting a Bear, as soon as an arrow hits, the Bear will either Attack or Flee.
The Bear will Attack if it has a high Fight Bar or is Angry due to being recently injured, otherwise the Bear will Flee when hit.
Repeated attacks on a Bear over a short period of time are very dangerous, so the Hunting task is cleared each time an arrow hits.
Hunting will lower the Territory and Habituation bars quickly, but is also quite dangerous.
Currently there is only one case where a bear will outright kill a Clanfolk. That is if the mama bear's cub is killed. In that case I assume you asked for it, so their fury will be unleashed. Later on I will likely add some difficulty settings for this, but for now, you have been warned about cub hunting.
Scaring Bears:

A safer way to get Bears to move out of the area is to Scare them.
Bagpipes and the Wecht Drum can be used to create Loud Noises to Scare the Bears.
Deerhounds will also accompany their owner to help.
Scaring Bears will lower the Territory and Habituation bars.
Bears will also prefer to avoid areas lit by fire or torchlight.
Bear Diet:

Bears are Omnivorous so they will eat just about anything available.
Bears are particularly fond of Rotten Food, so Dumps are very attractive to them.
Bears will also raid Berry Patches, Eat Mushrooms, take Fish from Rivers, and Destroy Beehives to eat the sweetened brood comb inside.
Bear Quirks:
Bears have their own set of Quirks that will modify their behaviors like they do for Clanfolk. This gives the bears extra personality that can also evolve over time.
As Artis gains experience over the years, her quirks develop from those of a timid young bear, unsure of her surroundings into a protective and confident mamabear who commands respect.
Mathan's quirks feed his enormous appetite, but also to boost the importance of a new Gameplay Mechanic...
Fire and Torchlight:
Ahh finally a use for torches beyond lighting and ambience. They keep bears away.
Normal bears will not like to stand next to Fires, so torches next to beehives for example can keep the bears away. This range is about 2 tiles.
On the other hand, Mathan is terrified of fire (part of his backstory and why there are bears in the area in 1300's Scotland)
Mathan will not approach even the light from fires. So the entire light range of the torches is off limits to him. Note, this system checks the actual lit tiles, so wall that blocks the light will also create corridors where Mathan can walk.
Using the lighting mechanic is important because Mathan has no fear of people and loves eating human food. Using the "Keep Lit" option with the torches is a good idea when Mathan is around.
Deerhounds:
The Deerhounds have a whole new set of behaviors to assist with the Bears as well.
If a Deerhound is set to Guard mode it will assist with Bear Hunts and Bear Scares. In both cases the Deerhound is there for support and not to attack (because it would get killed.)
In the Scare Bear task, the Deerhound will help by barking to intimidate the Bear as well.
But the Deerhound's main role is as a buffer against a Bear's charge. In that case they will enter hero mode and try to save their Clanfolk if they can.
I had a pretty epic case of this where a Deerhound saved its human from being mauled and chased off the bear, but due to injuries the loyal hound died next its owner. I did give her a hero's funeral though. Currently I have turned off bleed out due to injuries, so you do not need to worry about losing your beloved pet. It may end up being a difficulty option later.
Wecht Drum:
So, there is a new instrument, the Wecht Drum! In the 1300s, they were used to winnow oats and were both a tool and musical instrument. They have quite a booming sound that is ideal for scaring off the bears too.
In reality they need clean rawhide for the drumhead, but I decided to go with dry hide instead so they could unlock earlier in the Ideas flow. This will bring them online at around the same time as the Bears start arriving, so you have an option other than hunting them.
I also couldn't leave out the Bagpipes, so those will also work as a tool for the Bear Scare task.
Back Away Slowly:
Once a Standoff starts, you will notice gold bar appearing below some Clanfolk. All of these Clanfolk are trying to escape the bear without setting it off.
The Clanfolk will try to maintain a facing direction with the bear while slowly backing up. This backup speed increases as courage decreases. Remember courage is directly tied to the Intimidation skill. If the Courage gets below 25% that Clanfolk will run.
If the Clanfolk are lucky, there will be a door nearby and they will try to hide inside. In general the Bear will not follow into houses.
It can be quite interesting when a Bear wanders through town and everyone starts noping out and backing into doorways.
Clanfolk will not exit doors near Bears, but they will still try to look for work away from the bears so life can go on, but just not in a bubble around the bear.
Playing Dead:
Why are my Clanfolk flopping over! This is the Clanfolk playing dead. If it's brown lay down.
When a Bear does charge, they will do much less harm to a Clanfolk playing dead. The bear will lose interest more quickly, and if a Deerhound is around it will give a good opportunity for the bear to be chased off.

Food Desirability Improvements

Changed Food Desirability vs Spoilage calculation such that the Desirability of the food is proportional to how much of a desirability boost food gets as it is closer to spoiling.
So a food about to spoil with 100% desirability will have 100% + 1.5*100% = 250% desirability (this boost only starts to take effect in the last 1.5 days a quality remaining and increases from 0% to 150% over time)
But a food with 50% Desirability will have 50% + 1.5*50% = 125% desirability;
A food with 25% Desirability will have 25% + 1.5*25% = 62.5% desirability.
What this means is low desirability foods may spoil more often, but the foods that have been set to be more desirable will be eaten more reliably.
This is mostly an issue with Mushrooms which have a short spoilage timer and could be eaten due to increased desirability since they spoil quickly.
If this change causes too much low desirability food waste due to spoilage, I will limit this change to mushrooms. - Please let me know.
Added Cooling to the Desirability calculator so that it knows cooled foods will take 2x as long to spoil and will take that into consideration.
Added Frozen State to the Desirability Calculator so that Frozen foods even if close to spoiled will not be given priority since the spoilage will not progress.
Note: An exception to this is for foods at 5% quality left but still frozen. These foods are likely being nibbled by rats and will still be prioritized before being lost completely.
Note: Distance still plays a role with food selection, with very far away foods being deprioritized. So where a 75% nearby food, vs a 100% very far food, the 75% will be picked.
Cooking Pot

Fixed Cooking Pots being 10x more desirable than they should be. Was a result of the changes in v0.622. So a priority of 5 now related to 100% desirability 6 = 120%, 7 = 140% etc...
Cooking Pot will now accept Dried Mushrooms
Skep Movement Improved

Increased the Default Priority of Skep Shelters and Bee Boles from 4 -> 5 so that Skeps from Swarm Lures which have a priority of 4 will be moved to the Shelters and Bee Boles by default. Skeps are moved to the highest priority holders.
Decoration Changes

New System to handle partially filling decoration slots. So for flowers, instead of taking 100 flowers, the slots will only use 10. Also works for Graves and Wake Tables.
All tables changed from 4 -> 7 default priority so that the decoration slots for flowers get filled sooner.
Tables were lower than the Herb rack (priority 6) so table flowers were being ignored until herb racks were all filled.
Other

Fixed Default Priority of Eggs being 4 instead of 6 like other foods.
Better description for Distance based task priority picking on the Clan Laws page.

Made the Deerhounds' Livestock guarding better about getting from inside buildings to outside to get at the predator when the route takes them further from the predator to get there.

This should help these items to be hauled sooner and be less likely to get rained on.
Other:

Fixed bug where if a Clanfolk was dead but unburied before leaving a settlement, the alert to bury them would persist into the next settlement.

Added "Clearing The Table" to the table eating task, such that if an empty bowl/dirty dish is produced as the result of table eating, it will chain to an auto haul to clean it up.
Also, if a food like Dried Berries, which is in a bowl is not completely eaten at the table, the remainder in the bowl will be hauled back to the food storage.

Fixed case where Milking and Shearing Spot could get stuck workers if those spots were surrounded by other objects which prevented the animals from getting close.
Changed Deerhound Guard behavior such that dogs will not get stuck barking at threats outside of a room that predators cannot get inside.
Happens at night when predators sleep near barn and the dogs try to protect livestock inside.
Increased Deerhound protect livestock behavior range such that the dogs can get out of much larger houses once they decide to go after a predator.
Long paths were causing them to break off if the exit door was very far from the predator.
Changed livestock guard behavior such that eating and drinking is more important than guarding, but attacking predators is still more important than eating and drinking.
This is to prevent dogs from getting stuck guarding and then starving when the predators are close enough to be a threat, but not close enough to be an attack target.

Lowered Automated Farming Task Priority from 5 -> 4 to match the default priority elsewhere. In existing games, the number will need to be lowered manually.
Fixed bug where if an in use trough was emergency boosted, the Clanfolk would see it as a crafting station needing feed resources due to the extra unit slots, but since the trough was full already, they would just end up shrugging and having a drink when they arrived, next to the chicken already drinking there... As is customary in these types of situations.

Hi Everyone,
Update 19 contains three sections: Creativity, Planning, and Efficiency. The focus for this update was to deliver a variety of long requested atmospheric and quality of life features.
Creativity:
Tables and Chairs:

Clanfolk will now eat at the Tables if they have connected Chairs available.
There is also an adjustable radius for each table to attract Clanfolk for meals.
When a table is selected, all the chairs that are connected to it will also be shown with an attachment arrow.
Clanfolk will prefer to sit in the chairs with higher desirability, but still obey priority preferring higher priority.
Desirability is shown in the menu when picking which chair to build
Reworked Serving Table such that the access point is now on the table instead of in the tile in front of it.
Old style serving tables will remain, but all new serving tables will be of the new type. Destroy the old tables to retrieve supplies and build the new style.
Added an "Ate At Table" positive affliction. This provides a bonus for having tables.
More positive afflictions involving food variety and table activity are on the horizon as well.
There will be work done on conversations at the table to make mealtimes a social event.
The Cooking Pot will also work with Tables now.
New Floor Coverings:

Added Straw and Tartan Floor Runners.
These can be used to cover the length of a hallway and will grow and connect to neighbor pieces in the same direction.
The floor runners are less wide than a tile, so the floor below can also be seen for a nice effect.
Added 4x4 Straw and Tartan Rugs

Added 2x3 Straw and Tartan Rugs
Bigger Doors:

Added two tile wide Barn Door and Wooden Door.
Added three tile wide Reinforced Door.
Milking and Shearing Spots:

These new objects provide a logical anchor location where Shearing and Milking will happen.
This prevents Milk and Wool from being left in the fields.
The Clanfolk will first grab the appropriate tool, then take the tool to the Livestock, and then lead the livestock back to the station and get to work.
If a Livestock cannot reach the Milking or Shearing Spot, then they will still be worked on in the field. So stations are best placed where Livestock can naturally reach on their own.
Note: The stations can be shared by multiple Clanfolk, so making more than one in a barn is not needed. They work like the signs, where multiple units can use them at once.
I also added Chained hauling to the Sheering and Milking tasks, so even if the task happens in a field, a hauling task will trigger right away to bring the products home.
Added a progress bar to the Shearing and Milking task.

I just wanted to quickly divert from the new stuff to mention how helpful reviews can be. Even a short review indicating what stood out to you or a new experience achieved can be quite useful in letting others know what Clanfolk is all about. Reviews also help me to understand what players are enjoying and how to prioritize my tasks.
So between the Steam Forums, Discord, the Testing Branch, and Reading Reviews is how I decide what I will be working on next, the long term shape of the Clanfolk, or find a new rabbit hole to fall into.

Planning:
Planning Mode:

Planning Mode allows you to place colored Planning Areas.
These look similar to stockpiles, but do not interfere with item or object placement.
Planning Areas can be increased in size by dragging similar to the stockpiles.
Planning Areas can be set to only be visible only in Planning Mode or all the time.
Added a Planning Grid that should help a lot with counting tiles and general layout. (Off by default)
Selected Blueprint Actions:

The Planning Menu also contains controls for modifying blueprints using a drag select.
Possible blueprint actions are: Start, Stop, Cancel Build, Priority +1, Priority -1, and Set Priority.
The blueprint layers affected can also be set using the toggles for Roofs, Walls, Floors, Objects, and Decorations.
Blueprint Actions can be used to move entire buildings in and out of stopped mode and also to change their priority.
The color for stopped blueprints is now grey and the stopped icon is also grey to make them less intrusive when not actively being built.
Note: Blueprint Actions do not work on Tasks or Items, but those functions can be handled using Smart Drag even outside the Planning Menu. Just click an item and then drag and all other similar items will be selected.
Livestock Table:

The Livestock Table shows Type, Sex, Age, and Slaughter status of all livestock.
Slaughter Scheduling is also unlocked with the Livestock Table. This will allow you to set a slaughter time for Livestock to some future growth stage.
Slaughter times can be set by selecting an individual animal or at the livestock table.
Clicking on an entry on the livestock table will take you to that unit.
The timed slaughter status for livestock will show only when the livestock table is selected or the unit itself is selected.
The Axe/Hand icon will appear once the slaughter task activates.
Chief Laws:

The Chief's Laws are set via the Clans panel.
Chief Laws will be toggled rules that some Clanfolk will like and others will dislike.
For now, the New Tables have provided a good test case for Clan Laws at eating times.
Law: Clan Mealtimes: Everyone in the Clan will try to eat only in the morning and evening unless there is an emergency
Law: Table Manners: Clanfolk at a table will wait for everyone on the way to arrive before eating. They will chat while waiting
Law: Pets At Table: Pets are allowed to eat at the table and sit in chairs.
Efficiency:
Feed Range System:

Most Crafting Stations now have an adjustable Feed Range. This allows you to ensure only items in nearby storages are used in crafting.
The feed range by default is the entire map. This has been the behavior up until now.
It is now possible to lower the feed range, such that only items close to the crafting station will be used. (adjustable range circle)
This is good for cases where you do not want a Clanfolk to walk across the map to grab a stick to add to a fireplace.
So if there is a branch pile nearby, and the branch pile is fully within the feed circle, only then will the branches be used.
When using this tool, hauling becomes more important since crafters will only see items within the circle.
Please let me know if you run into problems with this. It is a very powerful tool, but also a really easy way to break the crafting flow.
If you don't touch the Feed Range Slider, then everything should work as it always has in terms of crafting.
Haul Priority:

Added a Haul Priority slider to the Inventory Menu.
This will allow you to set the haul priority of all current and future items of a type.
Useful for cases like increasing the priority of branches, so all newly spawned branches get hauled first. Instead of having to select them and then raise their priority as they are spawned.
Crafting Priority:

The Non-Strict Priority system has been rebalanced to prevent the default priority creep that had been happening with crafting stations.
The Default priority of most entities has been lowered to 4 to give more headroom as well.
Originally the priority of the crafting stations was used to dictate production flow, but with the addition of non-strict priorities, these higher priorities caused workers to be drawn into production chains instead of working on other tasks.
Solution: Crafting priority Slider
There is now a Crafting Priority Slider under the Clans Menu. (Clan Laws)
Crafting Slider Settings:
Materials: This will weight the workflow in reverse such that raw materials are given priority.
Distance: This will turn off workflow weighting. So in this case the closest station (of the same priority) becomes the most desirable one.
Products: This will focus on building the more advanced items as they become available.
Note: Previous saves will have a mixture of the new and old default priorities, so it is best to reset object priority using the button on the bottom right of the screen.
Better Closest Item Find:

Upgraded the Get Closest Entity logic - this is tries to figure out the closest entity to pick up, but walls and pathfinding can change what it means to actually be closest.
It is a solve for the problem of a Clanfolk trying to grab something on the other side of a wall, when it would be better to just walk 5 steps in the other direction for the slightly more distant object.
The new Closest Entity logic can "somewhat-smartly" scan for items up to 40 tiles away using pathfinding (vs 7 tiles in previous version)
The new system can do up to 16 checks vs 5 checks to pathfinding per search, but as pathfinding distance increases the number of checks allowed decreased to keep the logic performant.
The new system also caches similar searches, so in the old system a storage box could contain 6 items and use up all 5 checks, but the new system treats this as 1 search.
The new system also estimates the pathfinding distance to neighboring tiles, so those also will not consume from the 16 possible checks.
So all together the system should be better (but not perfect) at finding the closest entity, even behind walls.
