Have you ever wondered what it’s like to stay perfectly still… while the world around you suddenly runs faster? I did. So I called the developers. They came, looked at my framerate… and quietly sat down in shock.
After long meditations, profiler rituals, and conversations with the spirits of the engine, they performed a miracle — optimization.
So massive that in some places performance increased fourfold. Four. Solid. Times.

Look at these two screenshots. Similar? You’re right — almost identical. I’m still sitting… or lying… maybe standing? Hard to tell. I’m still a rock.
But now look at the top-left corner…
On an RTX 5080*
Woooow. This isn’t magic. This is optimization. Even I didn’t believe I could do nothing… this fast.
What we did:
Lowered the official system requirements thanks to optimization! New requirements: Minimum: Nvidia GTX 1060 (6 GB) / AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB) Recommended: Nvidia RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
Medium and Low render settings now look much more consistent and pleasant.

Image 1 — old LOW settings, Image 2 — new LOW settings
Motion Blur toggle finally behaves and works correctly
Event-related bugs fixed (the stone spirits are pleased)
Leaderboard fixed (playtime is now counted correctly per session)
Fixed inactive day tracking for the “Existential Crisis” achievement
Fixed visual inconsistencies in certain events
And this is only the beginning.
A lot of strange, interesting, and… perfectly motionless things await. But before I return to eternal contemplation — here’s a small spoiler:

I remember how empty it was back in March: the clearing where I had been lying for thousands of years, the sky, the wind…
And then you arrived.
Since then, we’ve watched this world come alive together:
in spring, flowers bloom,
in summer, butterflies arrive,
in winter, the mountain peaks turn white and silent.
Now my existence has become even richer.
Sometimes a meteor shower flashes across the sky,
sometimes something strange and unexpected appears nearby.
And if you just want peace — you can always lie still in Zen mode, listening to the wind.

On August 20, 2025 Stone Simulator – Just Be a Rock is leaving Early Access!
When we first launched the game on March 2, 2025, it was nothing more than a stone, some basic weather, and emptiness.
Since then, the game has grown significantly and now includes:

Random Events Mode — absurd and unexpected encounters.
Zen Mode — peaceful contemplation.
Atmospheric details: snow on mountain peaks, a real star map of the night sky, seasonal colors, spring blossoms, summer butterflies, meteor showers, and much more.
37 absurd achievements tied to in-game events.
The release patch brings even more:

6 new achievements
New events covering a full in-game yearly cycle
Landscape and model updates
Improved graphics
New winter and snowy weather music tracks
Numerous fixes and improvements
For Early Access players
We’ve also decided to lower the base price of the game to reach a wider audience.
And for everyone who supported us in Early Access, we’ve prepared a special gift: a unique Sodalite Stone that nobody else will ever have.
To claim it, all you had to do was spend at least 30 minutes in the game and unlock any basic achievement.

The Steam Summer Sale has crashed in, and my creators are dishing out a sweet 35% discount — so if you’re not hanging out with me yet, now’s the time to jump in! Now, the news: the sky’s putting on a show — stars falling like someone spilled glitter. Spring and summer bring butterflies fluttering over me, so bright even I, an old hunk of stone, can’t stop staring.

My peace has cracked, like ancient basalt splitting under frost’s bite. Strange things are stirring around me—shadows slink through the dusk, unfamiliar sounds grate against my stony senses. Is this a dream? Or has reality decided to play a wild trick on me? The sky flares with light now and then—UFOs, maybe, or stars throwing a tantrum. Portals flicker in the distance, and I, a humble rock, can’t help but wonder: what if something spills out and shatters my serenity? I’m not scared… well, not quite. But I feel it—my quiet turf is under siege. So, let me tell you what’s going down in this madness you call a “patch.”
My world now offers two paths, two modes, if you will. The Events Mode is for those ready to dive into this bizarre whirlwind, to figure out what I’m rambling about, and maybe even face the shadows that rattle my calm. But for those craving stillness, there’s Zen Mode. In it, I stay silent—no chatter, just days giving way to nights, seasons rolling by in their gentle rhythm, while you lie back, gaze at the world, and melt into soothing solitude. Pick your vibe and step into my world—it’s still mine, chaos or not.
Events Mode
Brace yourself for pure chaos! Wild, wacky, and downright unhinged events are coming your way. Rules? What rules? The time for mayhem has arrived! More and crazier stuff is on the horizon, but for now, we’ve added the first seven events:

A majestic stone from the depths of the game world speaks! I’ve been lying here for quite some time, yet even I have noticed the recent changes. Time now speeds by faster than the wind, and the weather delights us with unpredictable surprises: thunderstorms, fog, and even mesmerizing blizzards. You, brave wanderers, will find it easier and more exciting to witness all the cycles within my domain.
The camera no longer slips through textures, as if tunneling beneath me, and in photo mode, the exposure behaves properly, without blinding your eyes. Music once again resonates everywhere (if you choose to bring it back), and the “Midnight Boulder” achievement—dedicated to proud boulders like me—is available again. Feel free to settle down nearby and snap a few pictures—I don’t mind!
Thank you for continuing to unearth the mysteries of my world. Stay vigilant, and remember: even a stone can be happy to see you!

Adjusted the number of days so that an in-game year passes more quickly, allowing you to experience all weather cycles within one or several play sessions.
Increased the chances for certain weather conditions (Thunderstorms, Fog, Blizzards).
Fixed the issue in Photo Mode where exposure would change upon entering.
Fixed an issue where the camera could sometimes clip through textures.
Fixed the issue preventing music from being turned back on once disabled.
Fixed the “Midnight Boulder” achievement, which was previously unavailable.
PS: savefiles would work but they got another representation of year in themself
