It has come to my attention that a group of delinquents has recently started trying to 100% my game. This is obviously unacceptable, and since all of the achievements in my game are currently obtainable, I have decided to add a new achievement that you literally cannot obtain. This should hopefully stop anyone from trying to 100% the game. /s
In all seriousness, there was an achievement in the game that was basically impossible to get that I have removed, along with another achievement that is no longer necessary. I don't believe any players have legitimately obtained either of these achievements, so there shouldn't be any negative side effects. The positive side effect is that the game is now possible to 100%, for the few people who are crazy enough to try.
Other tiny changes were made to parts of the game I thought no one would ever see, since they might soon be seen. Good luck everyone!

In the last update, people's save files were getting deleted, so I pushed a hotfix yesterday that would prevent this from happening in the future. The catch was, in order to do so, I had to change where I was storing data, which meant everybody's save files got deleted. I felt really really bad for this because I thought I might have betrayed my players or lost their trust, so I have come up with a solution!
In the newest hotfix that released today (6/12/2021), any deleted progress will be restored!
The save data that was getting corrupted was a .txt file that stored information about player position, rotation, velocity, etc. However, the location where skins were being saved did not get corrupted. So, I can look through the save file for the skins, figure out what the furthest one is, and set the players position to the location of the skin. This isn't an exact restoration, but it's a lot better than being put back at the beginning.
In more basic terms:
I hope this fix helps out, and thank you for sticking with me through this situation :)

It has recently come to my attention that the previous update was wiping peoples save files, and this is an issue with how I was storing saved data. This is completely my fault due to an inexperience of working with Steam, and I apologize to any players affected. Sadly, to fix this issue, I have had to rework how data is saved, so updating to the most recent version will put you back at the beginning of the game. Fortunately, you will keep your skins since they are saved separately from in game progress.
Again, I sincerely apologize to any players affected, but this fix is necessary to ensure that no more save data corruptions will happen in the future.

After seeing a lot of players get stuck in various locations and be overall confused about the game, I have decided to change 3 things:
Along with the above changes, 4 new hidden skins have been added to the game, and 2 existing skins have been modified slightly. The 4 hidden skins occur in the world just like the regular skins, but you will have to venture off the beaten path and explore a bit to find them :)
I hope making the game more accessible with this update will help players discover everything this game has to offer!

For being the primary focus of the game, the wormhole has been really underwhelming in terms of creativity, visuals, and challenge. When in development, the wormhole was created by copy-pasting the main world, removing the walls, and then moving around some of the obstacles. It worked great as a placeholder level, but should never have made it to live servers. It completely lacked in creativity, visuals, and challenge, but this update aims to fix that.
The old wormhole that we know and love has undergone a complete makeover, and aside from the first few jumps, is completely unrecognizable from its original implementation.
In the old wormhole, players would only faced real challenge on the last obstacle, and it was tedious to get back to the very top to make another attempt when the rest of the level provided little challenge. In order to address this spike in the difficulty curve, a patch was released to make the final obstacle easier, but then the game felt too easy compared to other games in the genre. Instead of making the final obstacle easier to level the curve, these changes raise the difficulty of everything else to the level of the final obstacle. Now, almost every jump is designed to have some sort of consequence to it, and there are a number of jumps that test the players knowledge and execution of advanced maneuvers like strafe jumps, multi swings, wall jumps, etc.
3 new skins have been added.
Very minor changes to the main world.
A hint for the true ending has been added.

A lot of work has been going on in the past few months since the launch of the steam page, and I'm now confident enough with the progress that I can announce what I've been up to.
Worm Adventure 4 will now support an online multiplayer experience! Play with friends in custom lobbies, strangers in online lobbies, or a mix of both. This has been a widely suggested feature and I'm very excited to have it working well enough to include it in the release of the game! Everything you can do in the game, you will be able to do with your friends: both standard mode and arcade mode are fully supported.
A multiplayer game isn't complete without skins, right? Well fear not, skins will be added to the game, and the vast majority of them will be available from the start or unlockable through in-game progression. I have plans to add 1 or 2 paid skins so that people can support me if they like the game a lot, but again, the majority will be available for free.
I'm also excited to announce the release date of the game! Right now, it is set to release on December 31st 2020. Yeah, I know, thats the last possible day the game can release to meet its 2020 release goal, but I want to give myself as much time as possible to deliver the best experience I can. The game would be released sooner, but I'm balancing being a college student and working as a solo-developer. Right now, passing my classes is more of a priority, but as soon as my quarter is over, 100% of my resources can be poured into the game, and I'm confident it will be out by the end of the year.
Unfortunately, due to complications behind the scenes, the game will no longer be releasing on Mac and Linux. I'm very sorry to anyone excited to play the game on these platforms, but the amount of time and effort it would take to get the game running on these platforms is beyond the scope of a solo-developer (it's a little bit difficult test a game on a mac when you don't even have a mac). If the release of the game goes really well, I definitely still want to get the game onto these platforms, but as of now, Mac and Linux support have been removed from the steam page. Again, I'm very sorry to anyone who will now be unable to play the game
