🗺️ Introducing Biomes:
Our previous beta was the start of something much bigger. With Beta v24 we're happy to announce that Biomes finally make its way into Stallion Squad. This has been a highly requested feature since the very beginning and it's finally here to shake things up. In this update you'll get to experience a total of six new biomes - Grasslands, Birch Forest, Cherry Grove, Desert, Snowy Peaks and Dead Forest. Each biome comes with their own set of resources, wildlife and loot - just waiting to be explored!
⚙️ Create new items with new machinery:
More ways to craft items are added in Beta v24 - the Mortar, Cauldron and Well! The Mortar is used to grind resources into new items. The Cauldron is used to create drinks and potions. The Well is used to fill buckets with water.
⚡ Upgrade your character with Skill Points:
Earn Skill Points by levelling up and spend them to upgrade stats on your character. Health increases the maximum health and speeds up health regeneration. Strength increases base damage. Luck increases the chance to hit critical damage. Agility increases critical damage and your defense. Intelligence increases damage to ore veins and trees when gathering resources. We plan to add more ways to upgrade your character in the future.
🧟 Zombies are back for trouble!
In Beta v24 we're adding back Zombies. You can find them located at various Zombie Camps. They usually spawn in groups up to 3 so be careful and make sure you're well prepared! Fighting them is a risk - but with a high reward! The loot-tables has been updated and you'll now have a chance of getting new items such as Experience Potions and Ancient Knowledge!
🎁 Play and earn awesome rewards:
As we wrote in our previous blog posts, Beta v24 brings new ways to earn free rewards by playing Stallion Squad. We're introducing Drop Chests in Beta v24 that act as RNG-containers. By opening them you'll recieve a random tier of cosmetic item based on a set of parameters and percentages. We're also adding a way to earn Horsecoins for simply playing the game. Gameplay:

Six new biomes have been added: Grasslands, Birch Forest, Cherry Grove, Desert, Snowy Peaks and Dead Forest.
Monuments (random structures with loot) have been added.
Quests are back and reworked, play through the questline and earn XP!
Added over 50+ new items and recipes to earn in the game.
Added Mortar to grind resources into new items.

New tabs have been added to the Inventory where you can access Quests, Map and Skills.
Added a new Respawn button in the pause menu.
The horse in the Item Shop and Locker will now rotate 180 degrees when looking at back-cosmetics.
XP-bar has returned back above the health- and hunger bar.
The compass has returned to the HUD.
You can now hover over items in your Locker to see name, type and rarity.
The Locker has gotten a face-lift and looks visually more appealing.
Added reminder to update Stallion Squad if on an old version.
Art and Music:

Added new music to the radio by bluecloud: alarm clock

Performance:

Level Streaming has been implemented to only load parts of the world where the character is located.
Upon death the player will now immediately be destroyed.

Tweaked light maps on foliage such as flowers and grass.
Technical:

You can now hit F3 to bring up a debug menu.
You can now link your Peekio Connect account to Steam.
You now need an active internet or Steam connection to use the Item Shop.

✅ Fixed: Wooden Club has broken damage, needs nerf.

🌍 Started from the bottom, now we're here:
V23 has been in heavy development since V22 launched back in March with a lot of Stallion Squad's core fundamentals redesigned from the ground up. There are many reasons for these decisions. We've learnt a lot since we launched V1 back in 2019 and, naturally, found better solutions and ways to go about things.
Multiplayer should run a lot more smoothly now with improved syncing and movement on the network, the ability to jump in and out of a server without losing your progress and dedicated server support. Additionally, on both Singleplayer and Multiplayer: Stallion Squad should run a lot better on lower-end hardware with a lot of work done on optimization.
👕 Dress up your character with the new Locker:
Style is a reflection of your attitude and your personality. That's why we revamped how cosmetic clothing items work in Stallion Squad. Instead of having to craft them each individually inside of a world like in versions prior, you now have a dedicated tab in the lobby called the "Locker" where it's all about dressing up your character - your way!
🔧 Make Stallion Squad yours!
With our new settings you can cater Stallion Squad to your playstyle with ease. One of our big features this update is the ability to change your keybinds.
🛒 There's a new shop in town:
With the introduction of Beta V23 we're happy to announce that the long-awaited Item Shop has finally opened its doors to the public. The goods being sold here are purely cosmetic only and has no affect on gameplay. The currency used here is Horsecoins and they will be earned through both regular gameplay and - optionally - purchased with real money.
Changes
Gameplay:

You can create a new server to host for other players to join in and play. Players can join and leave as they please and everything they do in-game will be saved on the host.
Skill Points have been reworked. For each level you earn in-game you'll recieve skill points you can use to upgrade several different perks on your character.
Added different kinds of locks (key lock, code lock, door locks, chest locks) that let you protect your builds and items.
Added durability to tools. You can fix your broken tools with the new Repair Kit.
The Item Shop has opened for business!
Brand new Locker tab in the lobby where you can customize your character.
We're adding the first iteration of our new quest/storyline system.
Added flowers to worlds.
Added ore veins to worlds. Pop these open with a pickaxe to reveal the goodies inside. Contains various sort of minerals.
Added shrubs to worlds with grant you fiber, a brand new item for crafting.
Some items will now burn faster or slower than others.
Added new modifier on some consumable items that heal you over time.
When a tree is chopped down it will now leave behind the stump.
Fully chopped down trees will no longer respawn. (Unless you keep the stump).
Removed crouching.
Every single voxel is now saved inside of a world save.
Horse Masks will no longer clip through the character when emoting or swimming.
You can now raise or lower builds.
Added options for changing your keybinds in the settings.
When swimming regularly you'll now face over water. You can choose to dive by pressing CTRL which will let you explore underwater.
Transitioning from land to sea is more seamless now.
Added physics to dropped items. They will roll if dropped down from a hill.
Improved movement and syncing on networked servers.
You can now save and load worlds inside of a game without having to go back to the lobby.
Improved the chat and now displays the correct Steam names.
Damage and other attributes will now be displayed in the infobox of an item.
Added autosaving in case of emergencies (yes they happen).
You can now hold to use tools. No longer neccesary to spam-tap!
Added fall-damage.
Only items with a use (tools, consumables etc.) can now be dragged down to the hotbar.
Horsecoins are now Steam items, can no longer be cheated in.
Added a Straw Dummy to test the damage of your tools and weapons.
UI and UX:

Added damage indicators showing the amount of damage dealt to players and enemies.
Added healthbars to player nameplates
Added a new oxygen bar for when you dive underwater.
Added a durability bar on weapons and tools.
Added a rewards tab in the lobby.
Added a message box dialog with a Yes/No choice when doing certain actions.
Added messages to the chatbox when players join and leave a server.
Overhaul of the settings UI both in-game and in the lobby.
Overhaul of the inventory and crafting UI.
Overhaul of the pause menu and music player.
Nameplates will now properly align when swimming.
Improved pretty much all the item icons and descriptions.
Removed the black bars in the lobby UI. (Finally?)
Art and Music:

Added new music to the radio by bluecloud: soda can, theme park, popsicles, rainy days & something blue in the clouds.
Enhanced and improved the existing tracks in the radio.
Added sounds for jumping into water, swimming, diving and going out of water.
Improved SFX: Footstep sounds, higher quality sound effects, birds chirping, ambience.
There are so many new sounds we literally can't put them all in the patch notes, get in-game and see for yourself!
Updated 3D models for workbenches and furnaces and they both have an animation now when used.
Improved the render target actor that displays the character inside of the player inventory UI.
Added marks on trees when they get hit.
Added Achose's sponsored item: Floppa Hat.
New animations for respawning and dying.
New animations where trees fall after being chopped down.
New animations for using tools and weapons.
New animations for when you miss with a tool or weapon.
Improved water visuals and effects.
Added impact visual effects when hitting trees and rocks.
Added a screen shake effect when hitting things.
Overhauled foliage and effects.
Trees and foliage will now vary in size.
Improvements to procedural generation creating more realistic terrain.
New splash screen when launching the game.
Performance:

Greatly improved performance whilst in the lobby.
Loading times are significally faster.
Trees will now disappear outside of your render distance.
Technical:

Stallion Squad has been ported from Unreal Engine 4.22 to 4.26
A lot of the core fundamentals of Stallion Squad has been rebuilt from the ground up.
Item Shop API (https://peekio.no/api/item-shop.json) now fetches item name, item icon and rarity directly from Steam.
Bug Fixes

✅ Fixed: ESC in the lobby closes the game.
✅ Fixed: Lobby menu buttons are interactable when hidden.
✅ Fixed: When first getting ingame you have to hold right click to look around.
✅ Fixed: Player reflections in water.
✅ Fixed: Water could turn green in certain situations.
✅ Fixed: Infinite loading screen after dying in certain instances.
✅ Fixed: Unable to create your first world on a fresh new account.
✅ Fixed: Window and screen resolution settings does not properly scale.
✅ Fixed: Chat does not display the right player name.
✅ Fixed: When dying you could end up with another players inventory.
✅ Fixed: The world generates multiple times when you're on multiplayer causing major lag due to rendering two worlds at once.
✅ Fixed: Having the pause menu open while being killed will cause the menu to be duplicated.
✅ Fixed: Some resources spawn several times in the same location.
✅ Fixed: Issue where the music player does not play any sound.

The most notable addition to this update is the Steam Workshop! Share your worlds with the community or download worlds uploaded by others! You can also upvote/downvote, favorite, filter and get verified. We're hoping to see the Workshop expand in the future and become a small metaverse inside of the Stallion Squad game.

You will now gain experience points from doing your regular tasks around Stallion Squad. Picking up items, chopping down trees and doing your gardening are just some of the many ways to level up. There will be more functionality added to this in a later update.
🌍 More world customization:
Beta v21 features new ways to customize your world and an overhauled look to the "Create World" UI. In addition to these new features, you can now also change world settings by using commands such as /cheats (on/off) and /gamemode (survival/creative).
Developers Note: Fishing were supposed to be an addition to this update but will be delayed to the next one. I want to make sure it's a stable and enjoyable feature before pushing it out for betatesting.

Each save contains their own items, their own world seeds and cute little thumbnails to go along with it. You can access savefiles from Stallion Squad/Saved/SaveGames in their respective folders.

🎒 UI Overhaul:
Most, if not all, the user interface in Stallion Squad has gotten a visual update with the goal of creating a more simple and clean layout whilst not being hard on your eyes.
🌎 Quality of Life:
With a lot of the content now shifting over to the procedurally generated worlds; we're giving you a ton of new additions that will make exploring these worlds even better. This update brings the introduction of damage counters, cancel crafting, compasses and more! Check the full list of changes below.
Changes
Gameplay:

The Hub is no longer it's own seperate world. You will be sent there when you enter your world and you can leave it by walking through the portal.
All emotes have been reset due to a change in struct saves that will greatly improve performance and make adding more emotes in the future an ease.
You can now cancel crafting by right-clicking in the crafting queue.
New saving system allows for infinite savefiles and more replayability.
Play new minigames in the hub to earn coins and tickets!
Added bushes and rocks to procedural generation.
Added random events (gift balloons, zombie waves) to procedural generation.
Added palm trees you can find by the beach.
Added seashells you can find by the ocean.
Added diamond-, ruby- and emerald ore.
You can now save your spawnpoint with a bed.
UI and UX:

Improved the radio user interface and experience.
The crafting list now better explains the neccesities for crafting.
You can now see every craftable item in the crafting list.
Added a compass.
Added damage counter to monsters.
A new indicator in the quest user interface showing you the prize for completion.
Added consumables to the creative menu.
Brand new look and feel to the crafting menu with new categories.
Added an image indicator to the blueprint and hammer for showing items needed to upgrade or build.
Cleaned up and simplified the user interface for campfires and furnaces.
Hiding the UI will now also hide chat, quest log and name tags.
Art and Music:

Added two new songs to the radio: Marjo - Angels and Cold Soul - Mellow
Added a galaxy effect when attacking with the Intergalactic Sword.
Improved materials and textures for the procedurally generated terrain.
Improvements to procedural generation creating more realistic terrain.
Automatic detection of tall mountains or cliff-sides will generate a rocky texture.
Updated the model for shirts.
Performance:

Improved menu systems to open and close faster.
Improvements to quests which makes the transition between quests more smooth.

Increased storage size of Rustic Box from 3 to 4
Decreased storage size of Barrel from 5 to 4
Increased storage size of Wooden Chest from 5 to 6

Increased storage size of Refined Chest from 5 to 8

Bug Fixes

✅ Fixed: Coins are not correctly aligned on-screen with the border in the Item Shop.
✅ Fixed: Music stops when you turn the volume down to 0.
✅ Fixed: The volume indicator resets to 100 when you close the pause menu and open it back up.
✅ Fixed: The pause button will reset when you close the pause menu and open it back up.
✅ Fixed: Player stats won't show properly when driving in a car.
✅ Fixed: Some of the buttons in the lobby can be "focused" on by clicking TAB.
✅ Fixed: Treasure chests will make you unable to open the pause menu.
✅ Fixed: You can crouch in water.
✅ Fixed: You can't place props on procedurally generated terrain.
✅ Fixed: Physics for traffic cones and footballs allow you to stand on top of them.
✅ Fixed: Zombies doesn't drop any items.
✅ Fixed: You're unable to place Wood Chair and Wood Table.
