I have some unfortunate news to share, and I hate it as much as you do, if not more.
I have to announce a delay for the TAP NG release.
As our patrons with access to the closed alpha probably have noticed I have not succeeded getting the game ready by now.
I have tried my best to at least get an update out for our patrons to share along with this announcement, but the work required for the route creation is a fair bit more than initially expected.
The further I get into development, the more I get the game to a 'finished' state for EA, the more I realize I need to put some more work into fine tuning the game to make sure the reviews on Steam in the first week are good. (read better UX, performance)
And then when the game is ready enough I also have to ramp up advertisement, which I did not have time for now.
I'm a bit reluctant to announce a new specific deadline straight away out of fear of missing it again. (I may have built a reputation by now)
I would say a release early July is realistic. I'll give a more specific update on this mid June.
It goes without saying, players who have permanent access to the game now will keep that permanent access. I suppose they will get the Steam Key late June.
I will also give an update on this mid June.
Meanwhile the patrons with permanent access will continue to get free updates on itch.io.
That being said, I suspect, and can say this with a fair bit of certainty, that the first of two updates required for the full play cycle will be published some time next week.
This update will enable you to create routes.
The second update, allowing the players to set up schedules, will come mid June, at which point I can pinpoint accurately a new release date.
