Now, let’s get into the details of this post:
- Save Game: As you can see, this update is packed with a lot of content—it’s the result of nearly two years of work. Because of this, many changes had to be made, and one of them is the Save System. I understand this might upset some players, but starting December 24th with this major update, everyone will need to start a new game.However, I promise it will be worth it! This update brings a ton of new features, giving you a fresh and exciting experience when you start again. Rest assured, your achievements and cards will remain intact—you won’t lose those. I truly appreciate everyone’s understanding.
These is the key points I wanted to share with you. If you have any questions or curiosities about the update, I’ll be available to answer them here and in the announcement over the coming days.

As many of you know, we are a two-person company, and our first game is Who Needs a Hero?, which we’ve been developing since 2021. To give you a little insight into our plans, our idea is to develop more games, all within the Who Needs a Hero? universe. We believe this universe is incredibly rich and fun, and it would be a shame to stop at just one game. We want to create several games in this immersive and comedic world.
That said, I know many of you aren’t fans of mobile games, but I’d like to share our other game, which is also set in the same universe and features the same characters. If you'd like to try it and support us there as well, I’d be very grateful. It’s a great way to pass the time while waiting for December 24th to arrive. If you’re interested, the name of the game is Hero Hero Clicker, currently available on Google Play, the Apple Store, and Samsung Galaxy Store.
Thank you for everything, and I hope you can continue to support us on this journey. To be honest, my dream is for Who Needs a Hero? to become a TV series. Imagine how amazing that would be! "Netflix announces the new TV series Who Needs a Hero?" Sounds like a dream, right? But I believe it will happen one day.

I would like to thank you for your continuous support and patience over the past years. We know that many of you are eagerly awaiting a new update on Steam, and we understand how much it can enhance the game and provide more hours of gameplay.
Our team consists only of me and a programmer, and unfortunately, we cannot dedicate all our time to the game's development. Currently, we are working on it only in our spare time, which is why it has taken so long to bring you new content.
However, I want you to know that I highly value your support and I am truly grateful. We are doing our best to bring the Steam update to you as soon as possible. While we cannot make specific promises at this time, we are committed to offering you an increasingly better experience.
Thank you for your understanding and support thus far. We will do our utmost to repay the trust you have placed in us. Please feel free to reach out to us via email or message whenever you wish.

So fortunately this update comes with a huge improvement and enhancements for your experience.
So to bring this new experience for you, we had to take a hard decision to reset your save games. The reason is because this new update was no longer compatible with the previous version of the game. It's crucial that you start a new game, since the merchant and new characters will show early on. I really hope you understand, I'm really sorry! Lov you all heroes <3
Enough small talk, and lets to the update!
What's new?
Inventory and Shopping!For a better use of your coins and followers, we're adding a inventory system with 20 unique and comic items. Heroes will be able to buy items with gold coins, and those who want to be a evil hero, there's the black market to trade your followers for items too.
The items will have different effects such as: Increase your health, increase your strength, roll more dice in battles, evolve your pet, unlock new customs, unlock new dialogues, etc.
A New Story! New Characters!
We're adding 30 new characters with their own dialogues and story! Not all characters are listed below, but I know you will unlock everyone as a true hero.
4 New Scenarios
There will be 4 new scenarios: Underworld, Capital, Arena and Ocean. It's time to cross the Ocean, visit the Underworld to get stronger, buy items in the Capital and battle in the Arena to become the strongest hero in the world!
A New Ultra Legendary Sword
We're adding a new pog sword with a new feature. You will be able to enchant your Raw Sword with four Rare Gems: Fire, Ice, Fire and Ice, Dark.
Each gem has an unique skin and status/effect. And of course, a nice description for each one!
More customization and mounts to ride!
We're adding 5 new color and hairstyles, a new system to customize your armor color. And we cant forget about the mount to ride! But don't forget, to unlock certain mounts you need to choose wisely.
Quick word and future plans
We still have a lot of ideas that we want to implement, ideas that have already been posted here on Steam before. But we decided to go slower, we're always reading your feedback and reviews. So after this update, based on your feedback, we'll be studying the best features to be added in the next major update.IMPORTANT: As I mentioned earlier, this is a new game that's no more compatible with the previous version. So all save games were reset. please don't be mad with me, I always want the best for you <3

- Added more Health Potions to buy
- Added more Traps to buy
- Added a new monster
- We fixed some spelling mistakes
- We improved the Save Game system (we're still testing)
- Fixed a layout bug on the chat followers and store
- Layout improvement
- Fixed a small visual glitch where the edges of the player sprite don't fully disappear when attacking.
- Fixed an event that Black Market was asking for gold intead of followers
- Added new dialogues to the story

Thank you all so much for your support throughout Beta Test! Many people helped us by filling out the form! And that's very good, because we can improve the game even more.
The plan remains the same, we intend to launch on April 10th. But since there are a lot of people testing, we are finding more bugs than we expected (GOD HELP US). But don't worry, if we need to delay the release, it will only be for a few days! We want to be sure everything is ok.

- You need to start a new game and the game ends on lvl 120 (There's a bug after this level that all characters start to appear again)
- After this Beta, all your progress will be lost.
- Press the "T" key to increase the game speed by 2x. This will help you test faster.
- The DLC 18+ is disabled only in the BETA
The game has a few errors that we are already aware of, but these errors will not interfere with the gameplay, don't worry.
KNOWS ISSUES:
- After you finish the game, we're facing a save game problem. So you won't be able to start a New Game.
In the coming weeks we will be fixing and improving the game for the official release (APRIL 10).
The beta version will end April 9th

Below I will explain it better why we had to do it. Hope you understand.
The game will go into a beta testing on 27th March, during 14 days. There is a lot of content being added and we're facing more bugs than we expected ːsteamsadː ːsteamsadː ːsteamsadː So we want to test the game with as many people as possible before releasing the update to the entire Steam community.
The new update will be released on Sunday (10/04/2022), with NO DELAY THIS TIME. We will make sure that everything is balanced, no bugs, new music implemented, new animations, among other details and effects.
We prefer to delay the release for a few days instead of releasing a buggy game and spoiling your experience.

The new update is taaaking so long, I know. And I'd like to apologize again for that.The main reason of this delay, is that I had a few personal problems. Also, the new update have a lot of content, so we're doing our best to deliver everything we promised. Hope you understand 🙏 🙏🙏
But now we have a release date: March 21st, 2022. Now let me show what we've been working on!
As I mentioned, we want you to make better use of your coins, fame and followers. So we'll be adding 20 new items that you can buy on the shopping. There will the normal shopping to use your gold coins, and there will be the black market to trade your followers and fame for items too.
The items will have different effects such as: Increase your health, increase your strength, roll more dice in battles, evolve your pet, etc.
Yes, we will be adding a whole new story with 30 new characters. Not all characters are listed below, I want you to play before you see everyone, for example the new Final Boss that's surprise.
There will be 4 new scenarios: Underworld, Capital, Arena and Ocean. As I mentioned before, after you save the Kingdom of Grimar, you will be invited to a tournament that takes place every 10,000 years.
So now you will need to cross the Ocean, visit the Underworld to get stronger, buy items in the Capital and battle in the Arena to become the strongest hero in the world!
For the last sword, we're adding a new feature. You will be able to enchant your Raw Sword with four Rare Gems: Fire, Ice, Fire and Ice, Dark.

We're adding a new Armor too. You can find it under the Sea, just ask for mermaid, she can helps you!

Here is a list of everything that will be added to the new update:
- A New Story for level 80+! A tournament that takes place every 10,000 years will start. And only the strongest heroes were invited! Will you be the strongest hero in the world?
- Twenty new characters with new dialogues!
- Three new scenarios! (Yes, Underworld is one of them!)
- Market: Buy items, mounts, weapons and relics with your gold coins.
- Black Market: Buy prohibited items with your followers.
- Mount System: You can have up to 4 mounts, changing them whenever you want in the main menu.
- Items: Life potion, strength potion, mermaid milk, boar bones, a rare candy to evolve your pet, four new weapons to roll more dices during the battle and more. (I haven't decided all of them yet, but there will be more than 10 items!)
- Save Slots: You'll be able to have three save games.
- Russian and Germany Languages confirmed!
- Mind Reading Skill: The skill that is available only on DLC 18+, now will be on the next update too! It's time to read their minds to know their true intentions.
- More content for the custom system! (New colors and hair styles, scars on the face and you'll be able to change your armor color now)

- We want you to make better use of your coins, fame and followers. So we decided to add a shopping where you'll be able to buy items.
- New items that will help you on battles and other stuffs. Maybe a Rare Candy that evolves your Pet?
- Inventory! Now you'll have a bag to keep your itens.
- New weapons and equipments that will add new dices on the battles. May you could buy an Epic Bow and roll a 4 side dice plus?
- Monsters will now have chance to drop itens!
- Russian and Germany Languages!
- Save Slots! Now you'll be able to have more than one Save Game.

What are Steam Trading Cards?
Steam Trading Cards are virtual cards earned by playing games on Steam. Sets of cards can be turned into game badges and tradable Steam community items.So now whenever you play Who Needs a Hero, you'll be able to unlock and earn profile backgrounds, trading cards, emoticons and badges. Here's what you can achieve:
- Collect 10 Cards of your favorite characters!
- Craft 6 AWESOME Badges to show to your friends!
- Unlock 10 "SUGOI" Emoticons that you can use on Steam chat!
- Unlock 3 EPIC Backgrounds that only the real heroes can have!

NEW FEATURES!
- Now you can marry Juliet, the busty elven woman! (PS: She looks even more beautiful in a wedding dress). ːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyː
- Play as a Girl now! This doesn’t change anything other than your appearance.
- Use the Beast Master skill to tame a pet that will follow you during your journey. (Maybe a baby *****?).
- It’s time to fly on a Dragon! Now you can use the Riding skill to ride a dragon! At least you could try.
- Now the Demon Blood Relic gives you a demon wing if you became a demon!
NEW CONTENT!
- 20 new characters with their own dialogues.
- 2 new locations! Under the Sea and Lava Cave. (It’s time to find out if mermaids really exist)
- Added a legendary armor and a new sword!
- 6 new haircuts with 3 new colors.
- 2 new skin colors.

- Improved scenario effects.
FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS
- Fixed a bug where the skill Ancient Wise and Lockpick did not increase the success rate.
- Fixed text issues.
- Fixed the alchemist’s dialogue, now you’ll be able to research about immortality and infinite money
- Fixed the Lord of Fight’s dialogue that prevented you from making the last battle in the arena.
- Balance changes: we decreased the power of a few enemies.
- Performance Improvements
📢 IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're not a new player and your level character is 100+, I recommend that you start a New Game to see all the new content. The reason is because I’m always reading your reviews and a lot of people found the game repetitive after level 40+. So this update was made mainly from levels 40 to 80. You may wish to continue your game, but you’ll not see all the content. I’m really sorry guys! Hope you understand ːsteamsadː
