Scratch that, we’re straight-up releasing it! It’s available NOW!
Going Underground is a completely new story campaign and a massive content update.
Chip ‘n Clawz are in deep trouble! Literally! Their HQ has fallen into a bottomless pit full of creepy crawlies. Worse yet, the local army of alien bugs is commanded by a powerful alien creature who uses telepathy to mess with our heroes.

Here’s what we’re adding to the game:
A brand new campaign
11 new story missions in a new environment
New enemy faction: an army of unique Brain Bugs and their buildings
Area Control missions and playable Brainioids in story missions
An epic new boss
New HQ mods, weapons, status effects, comic books, and info cards
New multiplayer maps and content
New PvP and Skirmish maps
All DLC content that affects multiplayer (HQ Mods, weapons) is available for free to all players!
Mix ‘n Match
The DLC campaign can be played on its own or between missions of the core game
Progress is shared: all new DLC toys are available in all classic missions!
How does it work?
Once you get the DLC, all you need to do is complete story mission 5, “Stating the Blobb-vious” to access the new campaign. If you’ve already beaten that mission, you’ll see an arrow to the left of Blobbius’ helmet: that’s your gateway to the underground!
When you collect your new guns and HQ Mods, their blueprints will wait for you in the Loadout menu. Use Nanobitz to build them.
When you collect your new comic books and info cards, you’ll notice a new tab in the Gallery. Turn the page and enjoy!
The PvP and Skirmish maps are available right away: you’ll find them in the lobby when you create a new game. So are the new HQ Mods and weapons. Dive in and start blasting!

Tweaks and fixes:

Skirmish rebalance - we did some fine-tuning thanks to your feedback and amplified the opposite difficulties. Easier difficulties are now easier, and harder difficulties hit even harder!
Panic music now plays correctly when the Brainioids press the Panic button in Skirmish battles.
Fixed a rare issue where the camera could get stuck inside the hero character when starting a level. Yikes!
Fixed a rare issue (we’re talking really rare!) where the Pause Menu does not show correctly when pausing/unpausing quickly.
Wireless DualSense controllers are now detected correctly. No need for chords anymore!

New features:

Skirmish mode is added to the game! Pack 1 is now available.
Play battles against AI-controlled Brainioids.
Choose between 5 difficulties ranging from casual to unfair!
Pack 1 comes with 3 maps: Brainioid Central, Commanding Heights, and Secret Base.
Play solo, or invite friends in online or split-screen Skirmish co-op.
Friend’s Pass - 2 PvP maps now available for free!
Friend’s Pass players can now host public and private PvP games on the maps “Commanding Heights” and “Brainioid Central” for free!

Fixed missing Railgun VFX. Sniping the bad guys is flashy once again!

Dear Chip ‘n Clawz community,
Thank you so much for playing and engaging with our game. After years of development, nothing is as rewarding to a game developer as finally seeing your game in the hands of players. A lot of evil brains have been squished in these first days, and that’s just the beginning!
Our priority is talking to you, watching your streams, reading your messages, and taking notes. Your feedback is invaluable, and we take it very seriously. Namely:

We know you want more PvE. In our initial design, we planned to keep our PvP maps, as the name suggests, player-versus-player. You guys have spoken loud and clear that PvP alone won’t be enough, and you expect to be able to play versus AI. We hear you.
We know you want to see a roadmap. Many of you have been asking if we have plans for future support of the game. Yes, we do! We are hard at work developing additional content for Chip ‘n Clawz, and we can’t wait to share our plans with you. To kick things off, Friend’s Pass players can expect to host PvP matches on two of the multiplayer maps with the next update. That’s right, free battles for all!
We know you want bug fixes. Despite being developed by a small team, our game is super stable, cross-platform, runs smoothly, including on Steam Deck! We take pride in that. That being said, we can always improve the experience and iron out those little things that annoy you. They annoy us, too. We’re on it!
We know you appreciate the little things. As mentioned, our game came right off the gate with a wide range of features and extras, not the least of which being the free Friend’s Pass. We want to continue developing cool things for you. For a start, expect to see Steam trading cards, emoticons, and badges very soon. "ClawzLOL" is happening!
We want to build the best game we can for you guys, and we’re hard at work designing and implementing everything listed above. Major announcements are coming very, very soon.
We are doing things by the book – carefully evaluating and planning out each feature. We’re starting with the most important ones, so you can get them as soon as physically possible.
We ask for two things:
1) Be just a little patient. Good things are coming, and they are coming fast.
2) Be loud! Tell us what you want to see added and improved, and tell your friends about the game. Play PvP. Use and abuse the free Friend’s pass, it’s right there!
Once again, thank you so much for these exciting first days! There are tons of Brainioids around, and things are just getting started for our Grav-Sphere-hopping duo!

Major fix:

Fixed an issue causing the game to crash when placing buildings on missions with pre-placed Gun Turrets (“Guns Blazing” and “Stating the Blobb-vious”).
Tweaks and fixes:

Gun Turrets now properly target General Blobbius and all of his cronies.
A small rework of the mission “Stating the Blobb-vious” improves visuals and gameplay.
Artillery now properly targets high-ranking Brainioids in the mission “We’re in Big B Trouble”.
Janitors now properly yell when hurt, or if their doom is imminent. Poor things.
Small tutorial tweak in the mission "Guns Blazing" now properly highlights Chip's Overdrive ability.
A few typos were corrected.
The “IDKFA” achievement now works properly. If completed, reloading your save will trigger it.
A mysterious sphere named “Alien Cat Spawner” was removed from the game. Or was it?

What is Friend’s Pass?
With the Friend’s Pass, you can join forces to save the world in online co-op... or go head-to-head to see who’s the best of the best in PvP multiplayer for free across any platform thanks to cross play support. As long as one person owns the full game, both you and a friend can play the full campaign via online co-op and play all the PvP maps available at launch. Friend’s Pass will be available to download for free on PC, PlayStation and Xbox!
How to play with Friend’s Pass
Let's look at an example: You just got Chip ’n Clawz vs. The Brainioids and you’re looking to play co-op with your bestie, but they don’t own the game. Follow these steps for unlimited multiplayer fun:

You own the game (You’re set already!)
Your friend downloads and installs Friend’s Pass on their platform.
You share an invite code with your friend, which you’ll find in-game.
Your friend joins your co-op session by entering the invite code in the game.
Play the game together!
Here’s a spiffy graphic sharing how Friend’s Pass works (spoiler alert: it’ll be so easy to get and use Friend’s Pass, even a Brainioid can do it!)

By the way, along with having the ability to join a friend’s online game session for free, Friend’s Pass owners also have the option to play the first four singleplayer levels for free to get an introduction to the game and learn how to play.
