LAST LOOP, PART I: PROTOCOL "NOSTALGIA" IS OUT NOW!
Hello everyone!
After a long break, RussianPunk 2007 is finally receiving a series of major updates under the name Last Loop.
Last Loop will be released in three parts. The goal isn't just to fix issues in the original game, but to gradually rebuild it, improve its core gameplay systems, and prepare the story for the events of RussianPunk 2007: Quantum Nostalgia.
Today, Part I is officially available.
What's New
Reworked Prologue
The beginning of the game has been completely reimagined.
The horror atmosphere is still there, but the prologue now features more dark humor, bizarre events, and Sidoruga's signature brand of complete insanity.
Reworked Chapter One
The first chapter received the biggest overhaul.
It now features:
A brand-new wave system
A redesigned enemy spawner
A shop available between combat waves
A rebalanced in-game economy
A new player upgrade system
A redesigned death and respawn system through Limbo/Archive
Improved visuals and presentation
Combat Overhaul
Combat has also received a major update.
Changes include:
Rebalanced weapons
Reworked player and enemy damage
Improved enemy hit reactions
Rebalanced Emo Exploder damage
New hit markers
Updated enemy health UI
Better combat feedback and visual effects
New Animations & Visual Improvements
New first-person hand models
New weapon animations
Updated textures for several enemies
Refreshed user interface
New hit effects
Improved lighting and post-processing
What's Next?
Last Loop is planned as a three-part update series.
Part II
Will focus on rebuilding the second chapter, improving level design, and expanding gameplay systems.
Part III
The final update will conclude the story of the original game with a new ending and establish a direct connection to RussianPunk 2007: Quantum Nostalgia.
Important
Part I of Last Loop focuses primarily on the prologue and Chapter One.
The second chapter currently remains largely unchanged from the original release. A full overhaul of Chapter Two will be the main focus of the next update.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to play the game, leave reviews, and support the project over the years.

Hello everyone!
Over the past few years, RussianPunk 2007 has come a long way: from a small parody of modern games into a full project with its own atmosphere, story, and unique identity.
During the development of updates, it became clear that the original idea had grown far beyond its initial concept and evolved into a separate game - RussianPunk 2007: Quantum Nostalgia.
However, this does not mean that the original version of RussianPunk 2007 will be left behind.
Today, we are announcing the start of a series of Legacy Updates for the original game.
A total of three major updates are planned. Their goal is to improve the original experience while preserving its unique character, atmosphere, and the spirit of the game that started it all.
About the First Legacy Update
The first Legacy Update focuses on fundamental gameplay improvements and a complete overhaul of the beginning of the game.
The main focus has been placed on the Prologue and Chapter One. These parts received the biggest changes, including updated gameplay, improved balance, redesigned encounters, visual improvements, and numerous fixes.
Chapter Two has received essential fixes and smaller improvements in this update. A full rework of this chapter is planned as part of the next Legacy Update.
This approach allows us to improve the original version step by step, giving each part of the game the time and attention it deserves while keeping the main focus of development on RussianPunk 2007: Quantum Nostalgia.
Legacy Updates will continue alongside the reboot's development, improving the original game without replacing the work being done on the full reboot.
Below you can find a small preview of the updated gameplay from the first Legacy Update.

As development of the reboot continues, one of the areas that has undergone the biggest transformation is the place player visit after death.
In the original version, this mechanic was much simpler.
In the reboot, it is becoming a fully realized location known as the ARCHIVE.
BEFORE
AFTER
Every time the player dies, world doesn't simply reset.
Instead, they awaken in the ARCHIVE.
ARCHIVE
is a place between loops, where memories, fragments of worlds, and discarded timelines drift through the void.
It is where the remnants of past attempts to change the future end up. Places, people, and events that no longer belong to any reality.
Hidden within the ARCHIVE is a machine that records every cycle the player has lived through.
Every failed attempt, every death, and every restart of the time loop is carefully tracked and preserved.
Memory Restoration Device
After each cycle, most memories are erased. But not everything is lost forever.
Within the ARCHIVE, players can find a memory restoration device that allows them to recover skills and knowledge lost in previous cycles.
This is where new abilities are unlocked and forgotten fragments of the player's story begin to return.
What's Next?
The ARCHIVE is only one part of the reboot.
In the next development post, we'll take a look at the characters inhabiting the world of RussianPunk 2007: Quantum Nostalgia and show how both allies and enemies have evolved compared to the original version.

Hello everyone!
I’m preparing not just an update, but a full reboot of the project that will bring the game to a completely new level - more polished, cohesive, and much closer to the original vision.
This is no longer just a patch. The project is going through a major rework with updated mechanics, improved technical quality, enhanced visuals, and a much more refined overall gameplay experience.
What This Means for You
My goal is to make sure that owners of the current version will be able to access the new version of the project without additional cost.
If you were planning to buy the current version, I’d recommend waiting for the new release.
After the relaunch, the game will feature:
significantly improved stability and quality
expanded mechanics and systems
a much stronger overall experience from the very beginning
Why This Is Happening
Over time, the project evolved far beyond its original scope.
I want to bring the game to a state where:
the mechanics work exactly as intended
the visual and technical quality matches the core idea
the game feels like a complete and cohesive experience without compromises
Future Plans
PLAYTEST - The first large-scale test of the core systems and gameplay mechanics.
DEMO - A public demo version featuring a more complete gameplay experience.
EARLY ACCESS - The full launch of the rebooted version in Steam Early Access with continued updates and long-term development.
What Will Happen to the Current Version
The current version of the game will eventually become a legacy version of the project and will later be removed from sale on Steam.
This decision was made because the differences between the current and the new version of the project have become too significant.
