Today Remedy receives a brand new update! When updating the project to a new version of Unity, a lot of things broke. So while trying to fix what broke, we also made some quality of life changes to improve the game. Remedy was my first project and far from perfect, but I learned a lot about game development. Remedy doesn’t have many players, but it was fun to revisit this project and improve on some aspects of the game!
What’s changed:
-jump fixed. Player can no longer jump continuously when holding down the jump input
-auto save triggers moved to avoid stutter while in a jumping puzzle
-tutorial text re-written in newer unity version
-giant cube tutorial section removed. Now the player uses a ramp up to the first dissolve tutorial
-cutscenes changed to pre-rendered. Some cutscene playables were lost when updating Unity, so pre-rendered works! Also helps performance
-overhauled many sound effects including gameplay and cutscenes and adjusted volume
-player and cube icons added to ramp (roller ball) puzzle to better assist the player
-wood plank UI added to torch encounter
-objective tip added to assist players in finding the 3 open world cubes before the torch encounter
-re-created all Controller/PC UI for cubes and dissolve
-added symbols to the portal puzzle pillars
-Fixed jump pad particle direction
-Added Xray guide to maze
-Changed wall textures around maze
-Recreated end bridge
-Collider fixed in boss room ring platform
-Boss respawn position changed
-Portal issue fixed: Was messing with object selection/pickup when passing through portals at a certain speed
-Recreated the main menu and pause menu. Better controller support for menus
-Game volume slider and sensitivity slider
-Splash Intro recreated (loading changes)
-Main menu geometry and lighting adjusted slightly
-changed barrier texture back to blue hexagon
-New menus
-Save system fixed in new version of Unity

Hotfix notes:
- Fixed an issue that caused players to load near the beginning. This was a byproduct of adding the sensitivity save option. If the player started yesterday's update and the game registered no sensitivity save.. It skipped the part that loads everything else and set the player near the start. Should be fixed now. If not.. Try setting a sensitivity option to see if that fixes it.
- Fixed an issue where cubes spawn elsewhere after loading. This happens when the player walks into a save trigger holding a cube. Temporary fix is in place that should fix this and respawn the cube where it originally was. Working on a better fix for the future though.
- Added some more cube reset barriers near the boss puzzles
- Added Blue xray indicators to some pipes to guide the player near the cave entrance puzzle
- Added a save barrier in the middle for when the player returns from the islands
Known Issues:
- Some players have been crashing at the crystals of ruin. After reloading.. Seems to be fine, but working on a fix.
Also working on:
- Resolution/windowed options
- Prologue shadows/fog not appearing
Appreciate your feedback. Helps me make Remedy a better game! Have a great day.

Hello Everyone,
Got a lot of feedback regarding sensitivity and resolution options. Today’s update adds the ability to change your sensitivity in game. Resolution and sensitivity UI is in the menu, but only sensitivity works at this time. Still need to test the game at different resolutions. Windowed mode will be added soon as well. Alongside those big changes, ive balanced some other things as well like puzzle difficulty. Some users are reporting a “delayed” jump. This could be hardware related, but will try and experiment some more. Haven’t had this issue and most players report the jumping working just fine. Thank you for playing and here is a list of the full update!
Patch notes:
Fixed a collision issue for the caves ceiling
Added a texture to the island puzzle barrier to better guide the player at the objective
Adjusted the green ball jump puzzle to make less difficult
Added sensitivity options
Added UI in the menu for sensitivity and resolution
Resolution placeholder UI. Ability to change resolution/windowed mode is coming soon. Want to try and test a bit more.
Added short patch notes on startup screen to let the player know the big changes
Controller text updated on startup screen. Must be plugged in before game starts

Hello,
Some users have found a giant bug that I am working to fix. This issue hopefully is fixed with the patch that's about to go live, buy may require some more testing. This glitch accidentally saves before the game loads which will mess up the players current save. May have found the fix, but be weary of this issue if you are trying to progress.
Small side note:
- Fixed the water footstep sounds on other materials.

Hello everyone! Thanks for trying out Remedy! This is my first game as a indie dev and super excited to have it out there in the wild. Made some updates thanks to player feedback from yesterdays launch. Here's what's changed.
Changes:
- Fixed loading issue. Players previously couldn't reload the game after exiting to the main menu.
- Double jump has been fixed. Players should no longer be flung down when close to random geometry.
- Players should no longer be able to see the sun through walls
- Fixed rock collision issue at beginning of the game
- Add some invisible barriers in places players have gotten stuck.
Upcoming:
- Currently working to fix prologue fps issues
- Some players may experience the game getting stuck after completing the final boss puzzle. This should be solved soon, but for now the player may have to reload the level and finish the puzzle to advance to the final cutscene.
Appreciate your support and feedback! More updates will be posted here as well as @starsidestudios on twitter.
