Mischance 1.1 - Full Release Update

I am happy to announce that Mischance is now out of Early Access!
Bug Fixes & Changes:

Fixed the tips screen staying on screen when "Heading to work".
Fixed the music slider to actually remember the volume you set it at now.
Reduced transition times between actions (less time to fade in and out of work/sleep).
Added a button to change wall themes of the house. You can now switch between 4 styles.
Added some visual changes to the house.
Minor visual overhaul to the Main Menu.
An Important Note from the Developer
This has been a long and insightful journey into the depths of game development, game design, learning the technicals of publishing a game on steam and player feedbacks! For a first game, I am proud of the experience and also super grateful to all the support till this day.
Unfotunately, Mischance is still not what I had initially envisioned it to be. I was quite ambitious with the game, and due to several obstacles (the pandemic, lack of motivation, personal stress) I ended up adding a lot less content than I would have hoped.
Regardless, this is still a very important lesson to me. I have learned that making a game involves a lot of steps besides the core development itself. The marketing, pipeline, asset creation, story-writing are some examples of several factors to keep in mind when developing a game- especially when you're the solo developer.
All things come to end, both good and bad. After spending more than a year and a half working on Mischance, I have finally decided to stop development and move on to newer projects. I will keep in mind what worked and what didn't work in Mischance and apply those lessons in games I will develop in the future. If I get the inspiration again, I might come back to Mischance. But for the forseeable future I shall be focusing on developing other games. I am excited for the journey from this point onwards.
A huge thanks for anyone who's bought my game, supported me on patreon and all my friends and family for supporting me through this phase. The development of Mischance will always be a nice memory for me and one of the early steps towards my career as a game designer.

It's finally here! After almost half a year, mischance is back with an update- a bigger one this time. No longer will you have to survive for an indefinite period.
Temporary Curse
The relic you touch binded you in a very powerful curse. But just like most curses, this one can also be broken. Your objective is to survive for 30 days by making some smart decisions and hoping for luck to be in your favour.
The reason for this change is so that players can have a simple goal to reach. You can now complete the game by reaching day 30. This also helps me focus on a more detailed and limited storyline for future updates.
Modes of transport
A lot can happen on your way to work. And that depends on HOW you go to work. You have 3 options to choose from now-

Travelling by foot
Travelling by bus
Skipping Work
Each of these options have different gameplay advantages and disadvantages. As you live through more days, these options can play a big factor in your chances of survival.
Additional Features
This update adds some minor features and changes that also help enchance the overall experience of Mischance.

Added tips for some of the common activities performed in the game
Different background tracks for Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, and Week 4
Added more scenarios
Added 4 more ways to die
Player can hallucinate, having random texts appear around the house at certain days
Game Over screen shows days survived and probability of death (may not always be accurate)
Added or replaced some props in the house
Added Intro video and End Credits
More UI and Gameplay Tweaks
Subtle Lighting Changes

Mischance Update 0.5.4 - Fever Death

Taking care of your health and hygiene is more important now than ever. And it's only fair that you stay healthy in the game as well. And as a good reminder to stay clean, there are now consequences for not doing so. Better wash your hands more often now!
I would also like to apologise for the radio silence. There were some hiccups along the development of mischance this month which slowed down the amount of progress I could achieve. At the same time, I did not want to keep the players waiting too long for an update, which is why you can expect another update in the next few weeks with even more features!

Mischance Update 0.5.3 - Economy System
Hey everyone! I am happy to announce the release of Mischance 0.5.3, which now has a money system! Players start with a small sum of money and receive a paycheck every few days. This money can then be used to buy new items from the store, which can be accessed through the laptop.
