CodeWalker now has a ton of new features that you're going to love! Tower view gives you a lightweight proxy for each file, showing you its relative density in terms of code, so you can instantly see if you have any run away monoliths. And it's so lightweight you can work with hu
This is Echo™, our new diff tool. It lets you see the LOGICAL differences in your code, as opposed to just the text differences. Even the smallest change can have a massive cascading effect. CodeWalker Echo™ will show you exactly what is going to happen. We've added new languages
The previous patch had an artifact from an upcoming feature, activated ahead of time. It was placing a debug file from our upcoming git repo addition, onto the desktop whether you liked it or not. That has been fixed. More on the actual feature once it gets closer to production!
I'm trying to get in the habit of releasing bug fixes immediately, rather than wait until new features finalized. So this version mostly just addresses some of the current bugs. Incredible new features will be coming out soon :) CodeWalker's Retrace is a little tricky to set up.
CodeWalker Desktop - April Update This version massively speeds up the user experience, fixes a number of bugs, and sets the stage for some incredible upcoming features. Bugs C++ parser The parser choking on some issues in the Quake source code. Fixed. And then we found more and
This build does a number of things: Adds the caching system. This will enable you to parse massive projects more than once. If it encounters a file that it's previously parsed, has the same file size, and same modification date, it will simply pull from the cache. This in turn en
Recently one of our users found a significant crash when parsing the source to Quake III Arena. The photo above is not that part of code, that's only the very core of Q3A (The crash fix isn't done yet). But I thought this would be a good opportunity to explain my thoughts on some
Brings Windows, Mac, and Linux versions up to date. Notes: 1. Linux version does not have a native file browser. Aside from that, it should work properly. 2. Mac version is still Intel only for now. We will have a new version out soon that is Mx Native. 3. All three now generate
My apologies guys, I had the wrong depot set as default on Steam. This should be correct now for Windows and Linux, and the MacOS version will hopefully be up to speed this weekend!
Now when you build for Python, it will create a python file in your CodeWalker Retrace folder, and link to that in the cloned file. I will provide more details on how this system works shortly, along with a new video. It's simple, but I feel like it's still al little clunky so I'
in this version of CodeWalker (v815) Gave the 3D overview mode a name other than 3D overview mode because 3D overview mode is pretty tedious. We now call it Recon. It's still a 3D overview mode, but now it has a shorter name. Recon: Added custom mass code match feature that lets
This build addresses a number of issues that users have had, and adds custom automated scanner, dependency scanner, and a few other features that will be outlined in the next video
New in this version: Better screenshots. The screenshot engine uses a larger size setting now. Microscope: improvements to retrace to allow easier colorization of threads Microscope: Lots of cosmetic changes. Microscope: bug fixes for python and C++ parsers. 3D Overview : Changed
(As we spin up operations here, we'll be updating the news and info sections.) Back in 2021, CodeWalker inventor Chilton Webb and CEO Sam Webb competed at the Texas A&M New Ventures Competition. They took 6th place out of hundreds of competitors, through three rounds of inter
First, I'd like to thank everyone who reached out over the last two years. We've had a ton of positive feedback, and we really appreciate it! We also had a little behind the scenes issue that prevented us from updating, and then even talking about the product for almost two years
Hi guys, I just wanted to drop a quick update here, we're almost done with the next big update, and in this one CodeWalker will gain an HTML parser so you can generate trees from any website, as well as a Javascript language parser. Technically this started as a Javascript parser
This build lets you take a file straight into Microscope (the 2D version) from the 3D version, improves display speed and parsing speed, and fixes some C++ parsing errors. It also addresses some platform issues with MacOS (the app is code signed and notarized properly now) and sh
CodeWalker should create a "CodeWalkerFiles" folder in your home directory, with a file named "LastFile.txt" inside that. That's basically a black box for the parser. Open that, and it should tell you what file was being parsed when it ran off into the weeds. Currently there's an
