Calling all aliens (and earthlings) of chaos and destruction! The Big Chicken is here with great news – an update for Alien Hominid HD has arrived, full of audio and visual bug fixes, music restoration, and TURBO FIRE! Yes, you read that correctly. TURBO. FIRE!!!!!!
Sending a Big Chicken BAAAAAAAWK to the community members on Discord and social media who reported various bugs and pointed out the previously missing original music tracks. We appreciate you behemothly!

New Stuff

New - A Turbo Fire option has been added for aliens tired of button spamming
New - Added option to change player hats during gameplay (destroy things fashionably 💅!)
Input - Players can now play local 2 player with a gamepad and keyboard
To utilize both of these new features, open up the settings menu, navigate to player options, turn on Turbo Fire, and choose your hat of choice!
Restoration Software

Art - Restored the original art for 1-4 boss's body
Audio - Restored original music for the All You Can Eat minigame
Audio - Restored the background music in 2-6 to the original "BassGun" music track
Cutscene - Restored the original ending cutscene, credits, and music
Bug Fixes

Art/Animation - Fixed a visual bug with the bear in 2-2
Art/Animation - Tweaked the agent running animation in the attract screen to make it smoother
Art/Animation - Fixed visual bugs with with the helicopter and first boss in 1-5
Art/Animation - Fixed visual bugs with the Pudding Boss
Art/Animation - Fixed a visual flicker with jet enemies in 1-5

Input - Fixed a bug with the B button mistakenly bringing up the player profile in the leaderboards
Input - Fixed various issues with Steam Input and X1 controllers
Input - Fixed bug with PS5 controller icons not appearing properly when using with Steam Input
Level - Fixed a softlock that would occur after Bustletron in 1-1
Level - Fixed an incorrect camera position at the start of 1-1
Level - Fixed a bug causing the 3-3 boss head to disappear and softlock
Level - Fixed visual issues with the Tank's turret cannonball fire in the 1-4 intro cutscene

We appreciate all the feedback and bug reports you’ve sent in over the last month, and today we have a quick hotfix to address some issues we’ve found. Take it away, bug fixes list!
Bug Fixes

Input - Fixed keyboard mapping bug when loading directly into levels 1-5 and 2-6
Input/Art - Fixed button icons for "Press Start" prompt in levels 1-5 and 2-6
Input/Art - Added new button icons for Steam Deck.
Input/Art - Fixed P2 press start button icon in Neutron Ball and Pinata Fiesta
Input - Hide the mouse during gameplay and when idle in menus
Input - Allow Esc/Start to consistently skip movie cutscenes
Input - Re-enable mouse during scoreboard screen
UI - Allow right-click to back out of leaderboard menus
Settings - Fixed bug with displaying the incorrect resolution after alt+tab in fullscreen

We don’t want to imagine that, so here’s a fancy unlock guide for all the heads you can earn in Alien Hominid Invasion for owning our other games on Steam!
How does it work exactly? Well, in Alien Hominid Invasion, you can unlock many different heads through leveling up, securing loot, and buying loot at the Hideout. By also owning our other games on Steam, the following heads are added to the game's loot pool:

Castle Crashers – Pink Knight, Green Knight, and Barbarian
BattleBlock Theater – Cat Guard, Raccoon, Hat of Purrham
Pit People – Horatio, Yosef, Pipistrella
Alien Hominid HD – Original Alien
Because who wouldn't want to play through the tragic yet beautiful story of Horatio before turning him into a silly, havoc-wrecking alien who will destroy anything and everything to make his Mothership proud?

Legend (factually) goes that Alien Hominid is the game that started it all for our little (big) chicken studio. Initially brought to life as a flash game for Newgrounds 21 years ago, the charming hand-drawn animations and exciting side-scroller level design inspired not only the formation of a company, but the motivation to expand the title into a retail console game and hatch what would become the beginnings of The Behemoth universe.
Two decades later, our first game baby RETURNS to modern consoles as we preserve Behemoth history and share it in new ways, all in conjunction with the release of our newest title. We can’t wait to share the world of Alien Hominid with you once again!

Run-and-gun Flash classic Alien Hominid HD will come to Steam alongside a sequel
Alien Hominid was a run-and-gun Adobe Flash game originally released in 2002 via influential website Newgrounds. It then got a vastly improved HD release on various consoles between 2003 and 2007. That HD re-release is now being re-released, and this time it's heading back to PC.
