We've just updated a new version (v2.103) on the main branch on Steam. To try it, see the "How to switch branches?" question in the FAQ.
This version fixes some small issues on the Skeo Update.
This should be the final patch for the Skeo update, we'll now be working on our next DLC!
For people playing multiplayer make sure everyone has the same version, if in doubt restart Steam.
If you have issues, please remove or update your mods.

Let us know what you think about it, and if you find bugs or performances changes.
As usual, restart Steam to get the update, and backup your save before trying the dev branch. All players must have the same version to play co-op. If you have issues launching the game, remove all your mods before reporting bugs.

The new free moon "Skeo" is available
This new free update contains a whole new moon to terraform, with its own new lore, machines, resources and species to discover.
How to try this moon ?
To experience this moon, you need to fully terraform a starting planet (Prime, Toxicity, Humble or Selenea) and then build the Extraction Platform and the Interplanetary Travel Rocket.
You'll then be able to select Skeo as a destination.

This update should be compatible with all your previous saves. Restart Steam and delete any mods if you have any issues.
It is also available on XBOX, PS5 and GOG right now.

Added the new Skeo moon. You can visit it after you terraform an entire planet, using the interplanetary Travel Rocket. It's not available as a starting planet.
Added new "Underground pod" allowing to build a base underground (unlocks on Skeo)
New incubator T2 (unlocks on Skeo)
New tree planter T3 (unlocks on Skeo)
New rocket animals T2 (unlocks on Skeo)
Added new "Brojo" tree (unlocks on Skeo)
Added new interior lamp (unlocks on Skeo)
Magnetar quartz can now be crafted once you unlocked the recipe (unlocks on Skeo)
New drone T3 (unlocks via Systi)
New rocket oxygen T2 (unlocks via Systi)
Added a new animal for Skeo. (explore Skeo to understand how to create it)

Reworked values of insect / fish / amphibians farms :
Changed generation values & inventory size of Amphibians farm, aquariums & fish farms, butterfly farms & dome, animal shelter, tree spreader.
We decided to increase the generation values of butterfly/fish/amphibians farms because most of the time, it was easier/quicker to just build tree spreaders, and there was not enough incentives to create living beings (except for mammals).
This will speed up a little bit the end game. But coupled with the fact that the pace of the game was slowing down too much by the end of a planet, and that there's now 3 moons to explore, it make sense to us in term of pacing.
Add "Slots Number" infos in the details popup, so it will be easier to know how many input you can put on generating machines (like animals farms).
Changed the inventory size of farms and aquariums to better correlate the level of the machine and the number of slots they have
Completely removed phytoplankton B & C from the game, replace with A (recipes & logistics)
Quasar quartz recipe changed, only require one algae now (3 previously)
Blazar quartz unlocks sooner
Megadome unlocks later
Rocket Insects T2 unlocks sooner
Increased chance of variant genetic traits to be looted
Autocrafter not displaying Toxicity objects anymore in creative if Toxicity is not unlocked, and not displaying quartz craft station before unlocking the station
Genetic extractor & synthetizer unlocks a bit later.
Fixed environment flickers when moving between pods
Added a button in the drone UI to stop all drones
Added new Lucia butterfly (unlocks on Skeo)

This should be the last update before we start porting it on consoles, then take a bit of time off and then release it in September.
Let us know what you think about it, and if you find bugs or performances changes.

Added a new animal for Skeo. (find bones in somes places in the world and put them into the genetic extractor to create it)

Added osmium, bacteria & cocoa to harvestable veins on Skeo (check the map)
Fixed rocket oxygen T2 producing pressure instead of oxygen
Magnetar quartz recipe changed, removed genetic trait

We decided to increase the generation values of butterfly/fishes/amphibians farms because most of the time, it was easier/quicker to just build tree spreader, and there was not enough incentives to create living beings (except for mammals).

Today we are thrilled to share that Planet Crafter sold more than 2.000.000 copies! It's a tremendous achievement for our small team of 7 and we are really grateful for all the support you all showed us since we first released the game four years ago!
New Free Moon
Now that the free 2.0 update came out, we are working on the next piece of content for the game. This free update will contain a new moon to terraform, with its own new lore, machines, resources and species to discover. We can't say just yet when it'll be available, so stay tuned.

Planet Crafter is coming to PS5 and XBOX with Game Pass!
Releasing on July 21st, Planet Crafter will be available on XBOX Series X|S with XBOX Game Pass and PS5!
If you always wanted to play with your console friends* or terraform planets from your couch, now is the time!
*For now, the game will be multiplayer but not crossplatforms, meaning you'll only be able to play on consoles from the same brand, Steam players won't be able to play with consoles players.

Plesao skin will now always appear in the Xiaodan bunker in the volcano area. Goldeo skin have now a 100% apparition chance on humble in the smuggler ship (containers have been reseted)
Fixed issues with Steam virtual keyboard when renaming containers or beacons
Fixed the button overlapping issue on the travel rocket UI
Added the ability to launch the interplanetary exchange shuttle with a gamepad button

This version mostly fixes a few bugs of the 2.0 update
Let us know what you think about it, if you find bugs or performances changes.
As usual, restart Steam to get the update, and backup your save before trying the dev branch. All players must have the same version to play co-op. If you have issues launching the game, remove all your mods before reporting bugs.

Planet Crafter "2.0 Update" is now live!
Two years after the full release of Planet Crafter, we wanted to take some time to improve multiple things to make the game as beautiful and enjoyable as possible, for new and returning players!
New content: a new biome on Prime, improved biomes, new decorations to build, new portals locations, etc...
Improved graphics: better skyboxes, terrains, vegetation and water shaders. Evolving real visuals of planets in the sky.
New features: Third person mode, jetpack for rover, ...
Improved performances: RAM reduction, CPU/GPU improvements, ...
Improved gameplay: improved rover drivability, better construction snapping, new animal creation UI, lots of quality of life features, ...
Community requested features: usable beds, rounded glass floor, teleporters list sorting, ...
and a lot more!

V 2.004 : Full Changelog
Planets in the sky are now the "real" other planets of your solar system. Their visual will change depending on their terraformation values.
Prime : Added a whole new biome (search west of the map)
Prime : Improved multiple biomes & reduced texture clipping
New shaders : Vegetation, terrains, sky, water and waterfalls
New items :
Rover Jetpack Chip (Can be bought via the trade rocket, or found in portals wrecks)
Locker, shower, toilet, arcade machine, vending machine, lava lamp, aquarium tube, water life wall (found in portal wrecks)
Rounded glass floor (Unlocks on prime with pressure)
Rounded fence (unlocks on aqualis)
Arch (unlocks on selenea)
Genetic Synthetizer now allows to visualize the animal before creating it
Humble : Improved some biome with more starform robots, added a wreck
Selenea : Added a new cave and a new aluminium biome. Added waterfalls.
Improved rover to make it more grounded and more drivable
Added the ability to lay in bed. In single player it will save the game and restore day time
Added the ability to reorder the teleport destinations list

Today, I wanted to share with you our plan for the coming months for Planet Crafter.
The "2.0 Update"
First of all, we are happy to announce that our next free update is coming soon!
The "2.0 Update" will bring:
New content (new biome on Prime, new decorations to build, improved biomes, new portals locations, etc...)
New features (third person mode, QOL & frequently asked features, bug fixes, etc...)
Graphical improvements (skyboxes, weather events, terrain, shaders, etc...)
Performances improvements (RAM reduction, improved drones, etc...)
and more!
It will be available in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
Feel free to switch the dev branch if you want to try it! (Remember to backup your saves)
And more after that
Once the update is released, we'll work on another free moon update, and then a new DLC. Plus something else, a small surprise, in between, but it's not time to talk about it yet ;)
Either way, you can be sure that there's a lot coming for Planet Crafter in 2026!
