Greetings Sleepers!
Wondering what Dune: Awakening is all about?
Our new short video offers a short introduction to life on Arrakis: a deadly desert world where every drop of water matters, colossal sandworms rule the dunes, and the spice is the key to power.
In Dune: Awakening, Paul Atreides was never born. This alternate timeline opens the door to a different struggle for control of Arrakis—one where you must carve out your own path through exploration, survival, crafting, combat, politics, and the ever-present hunt for spice.
Your Life on Arrakis
Begin as a survivor in one of the most dangerous environments in the known universe. Learn to endure the desert, manage your water, navigate shifting sands, and avoid drawing the attention of the sandworms beneath your feet.
Whether you want to focus on survival, construction, combat, trade, exploration, or political ambition, Arrakis offers a world where every decision can shape your rise to power.
Console Head Start Begins September 17
Dune: Awakening launches on PlayStation®5 and XBOX on September 22, 2026. The game will also be available with Game Pass and supports XBOX Play Anywhere.
Players who own the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition can begin their head start on September 17. PS5 and XBOX Players are able to pre-load now.
The upcoming update will also launch on PC that same day. Please note that it will be larger than usual and will take longer for those with slower connections. However – the update lays the groundwork for more efficient updates in the future.
To deploy the update, there will be a four-hour maintenance period from 10:00 CEST to 14:00 CEST.
More Arrakis Awaits
Since launching on PC last year, Dune: Awakening has continued to evolve. Alongside the console release, the September update brings new content, improvements, and changes for all players.
We will be sharing a complete overview of everything added and updated since the PC launch - as well as what is coming in the next update - soon.
Until then, watch the new video and prepare for the desert!

What would it really take to survive on Arrakis?
In a new featurette, British military survival expert John Hudson shares his perspective on the unforgiving desert world of Dune: Awakening, drawing on his experience advising on survival training in extreme environments, including deserts.
Hudson highlights the authenticity of the environments created by Funcom’s Dune: Awakening team, particularly the game’s vast desert vistas and weather-sculpted rock formations.
“The rocky outcrops that the team of Dune: Awakening have built are incredibly realistic,” Hudson says. “They look like they have been sandblasted by desert storms. They look sculpted by the wind. Yet within them you can see some hope of refuge. That is certainly true to the deserts I have been to.”
For Hudson, the landscapes of Arrakis evoke real-world desert environments across the globe: the sweeping dunes of Namibia; the rocky, eroded terrain of North Africa and the American Southwest, including Utah; and Chile’s Atacama Desert, whose harsh, Mars-like surface has made it a location for planetary-exploration training.
But the most compelling part of Frank Herbert’s imagined world, Hudson explains, is the way it pairs an impossibly hostile environment with human ingenuity.
“The interesting part of Dune is that it invents a world where you wouldn’t be able to inhabit it without human technological intervention,” Hudson says. “The ability to create a micro-habitat that you can move around in is fundamental to survival.”
In the world of Dune, that idea is embodied by the stillsuit: a life-preserving technology designed to help its wearer manage water and endure the planet’s punishing climate. While the technology is fictional, the core survival principle is not. In an extreme desert, people must protect their bodies from exposure, conserve resources, and create a personal microclimate through appropriate shelter and clothing.
A Nuclear Reactor in the Sky
Desert survival begins with understanding the danger posed by heat and direct sunlight.
“Any exposed skin needs to be covered,” he says. “Wear goggles if you have goggles. Desert environments are brutal, and they will kill you. The people who live in these environments are covered from head to foot.”
Finding shade is an immediate priority for anyone suffering from heat exposure or sunstroke. Without protection, the body’s internal temperature can rise rapidly, impairing judgment, coordination, and the ability to make sound decisions.
Hudson notes that hydration is equally critical. In normal conditions, a person may sweat roughly half a liter of water per day. In the desert, that can rise substantially - and during intense physical exertion, water loss can increase to several liters per hour.
Even a relatively small hydration deficit can be dangerous.
“If you are one liter behind on hydration, you will experience fuzzy-headedness, dizziness and become disoriented,” Hudson explains. “That is a bad thing for survival.”
As dehydration and heat stress worsen, the body begins to malfunction. A rise of only a few degrees in core temperature can seriously affect physical and cognitive performance; at more severe levels, heat exhaustion and heat stroke can lead to unconsciousness and death.
Sandstorms, Exposure and Isolation
Arrakis is not merely hot. It is volatile.
Hudson points to sandstorms as one of the desert’s most immediate hazards: sudden, violent events that can emerge with little warning and turn exposed travelers into targets for punishing winds and airborne sand.
“Sandstorms can come almost out of nowhere,” he says. “You will get sandblasted.”
This is where the environmental design in Dune: Awakening resonates most strongly with real survival experience. Weathered rock formations do more than define a striking landscape; they can offer shelter, shade, navigational reference points and a temporary refuge from the elements.
The game’s deserts are designed as spaces that demand preparation and awareness. Players face a world where travelling unprotected can be lethal, resources matter, and the environment itself can become as formidable an opponent as any rival faction.
The Ultimate Test on Arrakis
From the towering dunes and jagged rock formations to the threat of sunstroke, dehydration and sudden sandstorms, Dune: Awakening brings the harshness of Arrakis to life through a world built around survival.
Hudson’s assessment is clear: the desert is not simply a backdrop. It is an active, lethal force that must be understood, respected, and overcome.
And for those brave - or reckless - enough to test themselves against the sands, perhaps even in a Worm Thumper Championship, Arrakis offers the ultimate survival challenge.
Dune: Awakening is the open-world, survival game from Funcom, inspired by Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel and Legendary Entertainment’s award-winning films. Players are sent to the most dangerous planet in the universe, where they must survive the desert, build their power and shape the future of Arrakis.
Dune: Awakening launches on consoles on September 22, bringing the fight for survival on Arrakis to a new audience. For Funcom, however, September 22 is more than a console launch - it is a major milestone for the new and improved Dune: Awakening. New console players, alongside both new and returning PC players, will arrive on Arrakis with access to every addition and improvement introduced since the game’s PC launch, as well as all new content and updates arriving in September.

Guten Tag, Sleepers!
Welcome to a special Communinet Signal: Gamescom 2026 Edition! We had a great time in Cologne this year between meeting new and familiar faces, sharing some exciting announcements, and showing off the game on PlayStation at our booth. Thanks to those who were able to stop by! And if you weren’t able to make it out, we have plenty of photos to share, some of which have a small guest appearance...
Our little Muad’dib friend here was crafted by Dana, one of our community managers at Funcom.
Gamescom Announcements
Check out everything we announced during our exciting week at Gamescom! If you’d like to see more details on each, check out our blog here.
Funcom at Gamescom: See Our Boothcom
Once again, we were part of the Level Infinite floor area, alongside other heavy hitters of this edition, such as Control Resonant, Exterminauts, Hunt Showdown, and Afterworld.
Since we were showcasing our upcoming console version this year, we aimed to recreate a cozy living room feel with a desert theme at our booth. We had bean bags, big TVs, and just the right amount of spice so our visitors could feel one step closer to Arrakis.
Visitors could try out our console version for the first time. We had a preview version of the build we will launch on September 22 loaded into plenty of PlayStation 5 Pro systems, with single-player ready to go. An early-to-mid-game character was saved to the profile, and visitors could take it for a spin to try out several mechanics and content they’ll encounter on Arrakis, such as Testing Stations, building, driving and so on. Once the time was up, sweet loot awaited them on their way out in the form of Dune: Awakening-themed thumbstick grips and promotional DLC codes.
Some of our amazing DevQA team members (shout-out to Søren and Mia!) and other staff made sure the booth ran smoothly and that all our visitors had a good time and a better understanding of the game’s mechanics. They were not alone, though. We also sent more colleagues from other Funcom teams to help out.
From Joel, Scott, and Ole Andreas, who were interviewed, to our PR, community, and marketing teams, who helped the machinery run smoothly and greeted people on the show floor and behind the scenes in the business area, everyone contributed.
Gamescom is a busy convention for everyone, and as they say, teamwork makes the dream work!
A Very Special Guest
Some of you who follow us on Instagram may have seen that we had a special guest show up at our booth. Daniel Moncada, of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame, visited us and chatted with the team about our game, his love for gaming, and all sorts of amazing anecdotes. Of course, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to record a few fun videos with him!
We posted those on our Instagram account, which surprised many of you! Mr. Moncada was such a good sport that he also recorded a quick message for all of you reading the Signal.
Will this be the last time we see Daniel mingling with the team? Who knows? Better call Joel! (Note from the writer: This is why they pay me the big bucks.)
The Adventures of Muad’Jim
Lastly, we couldn't conclude the coverage of our presence at Gamescom without mentioning our new influencer star: Muad'Jim! As we mentioned earlier, we brought this little, hand-crafted friend with us to populate our social media coverage of the event on Instagram Stories.
Alongside our community team at Gamescom, Muad’Jim posted from our booth and visited other locations, giving our Instagram followers a behind-the-scenes look at Gamescom. He even made a few friends along the way! His undeniable desert power and love for gaming resonated with the crew at other booths, and other teams joined in on the fun. At the end of the day, we all love gaming and sharing fun stories with our audiences.
Once Gamescom wrapped up, we ran a poll to see if you’d like to see Muad’Jim return, and let's just say you all delivered! He will appear in future Instagram Stories, so follow us for more Muad'Jim adventures!

This is our last Signal before console launch! It’s a little crazy to think how fast it’s approaching, but whether you’re looking forward to playing on console or trying it out in single-player, we hope you’re as excited as we are. The work doesn’t stop there though! We have some things coming up like another community event, and not to mention more info on the Polar Cap coming soon. Stay hydrated, and see you in the next one.

Greetings Sleepers,
Gamescom has come to an end, and we brought plenty of news from Arrakis with us.
For those who couldn’t attend, here are some news you might have missed – from the first console gameplay footage to a new DLC and cross-play confirmation. We would also like to remind people about the update coming later this year – Polar Cap.
Filmic Archive DLC Arrives September 22
Launching September 22 for PC, XBOX, and PlayStation®5, the Filmic Archive DLC brings iconic looks inspired by Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two to Dune: Awakening.
Step into the Aegis of the Unwalked Path armor, inspired by Paul Atreides’ visions of Fremen holy warriors in Dune: Part One. Face Arrakis in the Caladan Stormcoat, worn by Paul and Duke Leto in the film.
We are also excited to confirm that cross-play is coming to Dune: Awakening after the console launch.
We are not ready to share a date just yet, but we will have more information as development progresses. Our goal is to let more players share their stories, alliances, rivalries, and battles for Arrakis—regardless of platform.
Beyond September 22: The Polar Cap
There is more to look forward to after launch. Arriving as a free update later this year, the Polar Cap is a sizeable new survival map that expands the experience.
Some of what the Polar Cap includes:
New survival mechanics
New locations and resources
New loot and craftable items
A new standalone storyline
For players who enjoy the survival loop of Hagga Basin, the Polar Cap will offer a very different kind of challenge. Rather than enduring Arrakis’ scorching heat, you will need to contend with extreme cold.
And it is cold. Damn cold.
Survival in this unforgiving biome will demand new tools, careful preparation, and clever ways to endure conditions unlike anything found in Hagga Basin. We look forward to revealing more about the Polar Cap soon.

Developer Deep Dive
The beautiful concept art we have to share with this issue is the Water Shipper Drillshot and Water Shipper Rapier by our Senior Concept Artist, Ricky Westwood.
For the Water Shipper weaponry, we wanted to continue the flowing lines & covered workings we had laid down with their version of the scout ornithopter but bring in elements of the character designs (such as the padding motifs) and therefore bridge these design languages further.
Finally, we wanted some piece of shared industrial identity that would affect the silhouette, the circular motif works well for this.

Greetings Sleepers,
Patch 1.5.1.0 is now available on the Public Test Client. This major update coincides with the console launch and introduces two new features: single-player mode and a character-centric experience. It also includes a long list of changes and fixes. For this reason, we are releasing an early, experimental version of the patch on the PTC to gather your feedback early and improve the experience for everyone on September 22. This means that the version we’re releasing today for testing presents numerous work in progress and placeholder elements we plan to iterate on during the Public Test Client period.
This update will be available on the PTC for a longer period than usual, and we look forward to reading your feedback after you've had a chance to try out the new changes and features!
To assist you with testing, don’t forget to take advantage of the Progression Unlock Panel (only available in the PTC) where aside from getting resources and gear, XP and unlocking Journey chapters, you can unlock faction ranks and crafting materials.
New single-player mode! Select between different difficulty presents or customize the game settings, and survive Arrakis on your own, your way.
New character-centric experience: Create and browse through your characters from the main menu and choose where to bring them each time you play.
Major performance improvements and optimizations.
Combat balancing pass, with improvements to melee, NPC balancing and much more.
Restructured the way difficulty and reward scaling works in overland dungeon maps to make the overall experience more rewarding for the amount of effort invested.
Improvements to the tutorialization and new player onboarding.
Improvements to UI, gamepad support and rumble haptics!
Two new face tattoos are now available for your character: Sandworm's Eye and The Maker's Markings. These tattoos were designed thanks to the input of our community during our First Anniversary livestream.

Greetings Sleepers.
The ability to experience Dune: Awakening in single-player has been one of the most requested features we’ve seen since the game launched last year in June, and many of you have been eager to hear more about how we are adapting the game to this dedicated single-player experience. Transforming a persistent, server-authoritative, open-world survival game with multiple maps into a smooth local experience is no small feat, and today, we want to talk about the technical work our team has done to enable solo survival on Arrakis.
Databases and Authority
Our game was designed to leverage PostgreSQL, a server-grade database capable of handling high data transfer rates and large data sizes. The actions players take, their interactions with each other, the items they have or place in the persistent world, and their entire game progression need to perform at a massive scale. However, for a single-player game, we had to change this assumption and convert the database to a simpler solution, such as SQLite. This essentially trades the scalability required for hosting a multiplayer game with a lightweight, serverless option that works better in a single-player mode.
Expanding to consoles not only meant that we had to be even more mindful of memory usage, but by adding a single-player mode, we also had to shift Dune: Awakening from a server- to a client-governed game while maintaining performance. Transferring the complex persistence and validation logic so that it behaves the same way when the client acts as its own authority was quite a lengthy process! This significant paradigm shift required us to revisit all of the game’s systems and logic, all while ensuring that the multiplayer mode continues to function as players expect.
Redistributing the Heavy Lifting
The multiplayer infrastructure is designed to manage multiple servers and track thousands of player interactions simultaneously. Since a single-player mode only involves one player loading one map at a time, we were able to strip away much of the overarching server logic and focus solely on seamless map-to-map loading.
However, granting local authority means your machine must handle the heavy lifting. Systems such as combat logic and vehicle simulation, which were previously validated on the server side, are now handled entirely by the client. Intense optimization is required to ensure the client doesn't get bogged down doing double the work while rendering the game.
In Dune: Awakening, there are many maps of different sizes, with the Deep Desert region being the largest. While a dedicated server can keep the entire map loaded and active, a local machine cannot. We rewrote how the game handles the physics scene so that the client no longer loads all the physics and content simultaneously. This ensures that the game will still function as expected, even when the entire map isn't actively loaded into your system's memory.
Translating Multiplayer Features
Even if most of the gameplay features in the game already work well when playing alone, a major question we’ve seen is how we are translating our larger multiplayer and social systems into single-player experience:
The Landsraad: Instead of relying on a server database, the Landsraad now runs locally on the client. We simulate the progress of the Minor Houses in the background to authentically emulate the ongoing competition between the factions to give players a feel of being a part of a large political conflict.
Arrakeen and Harkonnen Social Hubs: You will still be able to visit these locations as normal to experience the atmosphere of Arrakis. However, we have removed the Exchange from these areas, as a player-to-player market simply doesn't serve a purpose in a solo journey.
Your Desert. Your Arrakis. Your Dune.
In Dune: Awakening single-player mode, you can customize every aspect of your in-game experience. You can either select one of the pre-determined difficulty settings or dive deeper into several categories: harvesting, combat, survival, and persistence, each with knobs that you can adjust to your liking. These settings can be changed at any time, so don't worry about getting everything right at the beginning of the game. Experimenting is part of the fun!
Additionally, all these extra settings will also be available to players on private and self-hosted servers, giving the players more agency in creating tailored experiences. Here are some of the settings that will be available in September:
Resource harvesting rate
Crafting and building costs
Loot and resource respawn speed
Damage dealt, enemy health, and enemy respawn speed
Item durability settings
Experience gains from various sources
Dehydration, sun exposure, and heat buildup
Toggle to enable or disable sandstorms and sandworms.
Items dropped upon death, including what is lost when killed by a sandworm
Area building restrictions, building stability, and sub-fief expansion limits
Adding a single-player mode to Dune: Awakening is about giving more people the chance to play the game the way they want to play it. Multiplayer isn’t for everyone, and we’ve seen from both player feedback and in-game telemetry that a lot of people enjoy playing the game by themselves. We know Dune: Awakening can be a great experience solo and knowing from experience that the share of solo players can be significantly higher on console, this felt like a great time to add a proper, fully realized way to play solo.
The improvements we’ve made as part of adding single-player mode, including performance optimizations and UI/UX enhancements, will also benefit that part of the game. Multiplayer is still core to the Dune: Awakening experience and it remains a clear focus to us going forward.

Changes implemented during the Public Test Client testing are marked in blue.
Five new Landsraad missions across Hagga Basin and Smuggler’s Run!
Improved visibility during Coriolis build-up in Hagga Basin. Wind particles were removed, and the buildup duration was increased. For the final hour of the storm build-up, the fog density was decreased.
Made the cargo container heavier so that it is not easily pushed around by other vehicles.
Players are now pushed off ornithopters at higher speeds. Standing on a flying vehicle enabled unintended combat tactics, particularly in PvP. You can still stand on ornithopters at lower speeds.
The UNSTUCK menu feature will now work differently inside Overland map dungeons by teleporting the player to the start location. Outside of overland map dungeons the behavior will be the same as before - it will attempt to find the closest valid spot and teleport the player to that location.

We are thrilled to announce that our first Closed Beta Playtest for PlayStation will take place from June 25 to June 29!
The primary goal is to test how the game feels on console with the number of improvements and changes to the control scheme, combat, and progression that have been introduced.
Here are the key details you need to know before registering:
This specific technical test is for players on PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro residing in North America only.
New players who have never played the game, and those that have already explored Arrakis on PC are welcome to register.
We will be testing the multiplayer game mode only. We will focus on the single-player mode, including all the customization options in a future playtest.
This test is confidential and will be held under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). All participants must agree to the NDA before playing. Streaming, capturing footage, taking screenshots, or discussing the game outside of our designated private testing channels is strictly prohibited.
For this initial phase, we are keeping the testing pool highly focused. We will only be inviting a very limited number of users from the registration list to join us for the weekend.
At the end of the playtest, we will conduct a survey to collect detailed feedback from players about their experience.
How to Register
If you are available in this timeframe and want to help us test the game, you can register your interest here. We will be sending emails with NDAs and keys sometime next week.
If you do not receive an invitation this time, please do not worry. There is a strong possibility for additional tests in the future as we progress toward launch. Keep an eye on our official channels for further updates.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm.

Developer Stream
We also celebrated with a developer stream where we shared community highlights, updates, and more. If you missed it, here’s a quick rundown below! You can find the full VoD here on Twitch or YouTube.
New In-Game Tattoos
Our talented Character Concept Artist, Karoline Brenno, then went to work live on stream, crafting three incredible design concepts based on chat’s vote for the theme (with Shai-Hulud coming out on top). We then had one final vote on which chat liked the best. We are happy to reveal that we will be including both of the top voted tattoo designs in game (options 1 and 3)! Here they are with some more TLC; these are final renders and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on when they are available.
Player Stories
We asked you to share some of your best memories and stories in our Reddit and Discord thread. While we weren’t able to share all of them, many were featured on screen. Make sure to visit those links to read more but here are a couple!
In the first few weeks, I was in Aluminum tier and headed back to my base. I stopped by the wreck in the Vermillius Gap for some microflora fiber. A new player, still in a scavenger stillsuit came running up and hit me. When I didn’t immediately retaliate, you could tell he was having the realization I was a player and not an NPC. He immediately ran in the other direction. Little interactions like this in Hagga were always a great time. - AlphaElite1
During the first month, made some friends on my server, the first one that managed to build an assault ornithopter flew by and picked us up, and we were flying around. one person accidentally fell/jumped out. we swung around to get them, and had a worm start coming towards us. we tried to pull up, but the worm got all of us. it sucked, but was hilarious. - Benigndarkness
My favorite thing about Dune: Awakening has been the community and all the AMAZING people myself and Mr. Cuddles have met! We have laughed, cried, and banded together with so many people from around the world that we never would have met otherwise. I still remember the Deep Desert when I first crossed into it. It would make me so anxious and the exhilaration that came from the wonder and mystery if I was going to survive against other players or not. I still get that feeling to this day when it's busy. - Mrs. Cuddles
My favorite thing about dune is definitely the community. Meeting new people with the same passion has been great and hopefully that may continue with a possibility of crossplay in the future to play with my console only friends. I’ll also never forget that first time crossing the starter area to Vermilius Gap and my heart going 90 being chased by the worm. - Cam
Q&A
We also had an almost hour-long segment answering many questions we collected during both the stream, and through the Reddit thread we posted a few days before. We strongly suggest you watch the full section to get all your questions answered, as the devs go in depth on many of them as well. But here are a couple of what we went over.
Question
Answer
Is there content planned before Sept 22nd for PC?
We will release Patch 1.4.10 before September, along with any planned community events or weekend boosts. We also have 5 new Landsraad missions in a patch coming soon! Since we want content parity across all platforms for the September console release, we will not be able to update the PC version with new content after submitting the build for certification to Xbox and Sony. It is a lengthy process.
Are there any plans to improve the PvP aspect of the game?
Yes. We have plans to improve things in PvP and have some designs in the backlog. Any changes we do for PvP must also be valid in PvE; one should not exclude the other. We are looking at melee and ranged combat, abilities, vehicles, and how they all unify together. We will do our absolute best to ensure a great experience for as many people as possible.
What are your thoughts on the current balance of the game and the augment/grade system? Will any balance changes be made to cull powercreep issues?
There are discussions happening about this internally. In terms of balance, we are reviewing and adjusting every piece of progression, including itemization, personal character power, and, in some cases, the ability to utilize the game's mechanics, for where the game is at.
Are there any plans to rework or rebalance the personal rewards and decrees for the Landsraad?
We definitely want to look at and expand upon Landsraad decrees. This has actually been discussed internally recently. Personal rewards, on the other hand, are not at the top of our radar right now, but that does not mean we will never do it in the future.
For players who have already reached the current endgame (full Grade 5 gear, optimized augments, max Specializations, etc.), what do you envision as the long-term aspirational gameplay loop of Dune: Awakening?
We will continue to add features to the game, that's a given. We can't discuss specifics yet, but you can expect new ability trees that reinforce different combat styles, new specializations, and more. There will also be entirely new gameplay loops that tie into all the different feature loops.
Any chance to add roaming patrols or bandits in the Deep Desert or Hagga Basin?
It's never been the top priority so far. Where we'll get to them is when we'll have a bit more time to sit back and look at where it's important for the game.
Will there be more events like the one with the crashed ships and missiles that shot them down? I’d love to see an event with a solar eclipse on Arrakis.
We are definitely looking at doing more of these types of events. Joel has some cool ideas he is working on!
Will there be goals/activities implemented into both the PVP DD and PVE DD to enhance that location and allow solo/guilds to drive to new goals in that region?
The short answer is yes, we will do more stuff in the Deep Desert in the future.
Developer Deep Dive
With the release of the Water Wars DLC, we introduced cosmetics surrounding the Water Shippers. So we wanted to show off some beautiful concept art we have of some outfits!
For the Water Shippers outfit designs, we wanted to have clear delineation between the layers they used. Using quilting & then heated wrapped piping to indicate they are from a cold biome whilst adding plate pieces to indicate their amount of armor.
Senior Lead Concept Artist, Josh ‘Badger’ Atack, created the first caped version to set the direction for the rest. We then played with a variety of color schemes to ensure they clearly read as a separate faction.

Greetings Sleepers,
A year ago today we opened the doors to Arrakis on PC. After working on it for so long, it was great to go from us talking about the game to watching players create their own stories on Arrakis. Thank you for the energy and the passion, we’ve enjoyed the cool bases, the unofficial arenas and races, even the time Ben forgot to power his base.
Today Dune: Awakening is better because of the great feedback we’ve received and all of the enthusiasm you have put into this community. So, from all of us at Funcom: thank you. We hope the year ahead is every bit as exciting as the last. It’s a big year for the game and for the Dune universe, and we’re grateful to be part of it with you.
To celebrate this milestone together, we are marking the one-year anniversary of Dune: Awakening with a limited-time event featuring free rewards, progression boosts, and community-focused fun.
The event runs from June 10th to July 10th, 2026, aligning with the game’s original launch anniversary and overlapping with the Steam Summer Sale (June 25th–July 9th).
Over the course of four weeks, players can unlock a series of cosmetic rewards while benefiting from multiple Progression Boost Weekends.
A Month of Rewards and Progression
Each week introduces new cosmetic items, all of which stack over the duration of the event—meaning players can collect the entire set by participating throughout the month.
The featured reward line is the Contemplation Tea House collection, a themed set of decorative items for player housing, alongside a standout armor cosmetic:
Week 1: Counter set pieces and the Master Operative of the Dunes light armor variant
Week 2: Tea house seating, including a sofa and chair
Week 3: Table and tea set furnishings
Week 4: Final decorative elements, including a mural and baliset
Together, these items form a complete, cohesive cosmetic set designed to spruce up your nook on Arrakis.
Boosted Progression Weekends
In addition to cosmetic rewards, the event includes four timed Boosted Progression weekends, each offering double rewards in a specific progression area. A perfect opportunity to catch up or get ahead:
June 12–15: Double Faction Reputation
June 19–22: Double House Scrip rewards
June 26–29: Double Specialization XP
July 3–6:Double Overland Testing Station Loot
Each boost runs from Friday morning through Monday morning, giving players extended windows to maximize gains.
NOTE! Everyone's mnemonic recollections will be topped up to 35 at the start of the event for the Scrip, Faction and Specialization XP weekend boosts.
