The latest update is officially live! We’ve introduced a massive wave of new content, including card upgrades, a brand-new game mode, and game-changing modifiers.
🏆 New Mode: Daily Runs
Daily Runs are unique challenges where everyone plays the same setup.
Designed to be played in one sitting. Progress does not save, but you can replay it as many times as you like.
Difficulty: It is currently tuned to be harder than the standard game, and we will continue to adjust the challenge based on your feedback.
Leaderboards: Compete against the community for the top spot.
The Setup: Every player gets the same deck (8 variations available so far), a 20-card campaign, 6 enemies, and 1 Boss.
Modifiers: 3 random modifiers are applied daily
Progression: You can unlock new cards for your collection by playing this mode
Daily Run Modifiers
Recession: All BIZ make -25% but have +2 Defense.
Gang War: All Henchmen have +1 attack.
Predatory Lending: Lenders give +50% debt.
Back-Alley Bargains: All cards and items cost -30% at the Rat's Store.
Overtime Culture: All workers make +50%.
Low Interest Rates: All BIZ make +50%.
Market Bubble: All BIZ make +100% but have -2 Defense.
Viral Economy: Earn +$200/turn if you control 4+ henchmen.
Data Leak: 30% chance to draw 1 extra card per turn.
Goalpost Shift: Winning goal increased by 30%.
Extended Credit Line: Debt limit increased by 40%.
Venture Capital: Start with +$300, but Debt increases by $50 every turn.
Bureaucratic Red Tape: Every card costs +$50 Debt to play.
Creative Accounting: Playing an Action card reduces Debt by $50.
Tax Write-off: Playing a BIZ card reduces Debt by $50.
New Campaign Cards
We’ve introduced the ability to upgrade your cards with the new Card Enhancement scene. Additionally, we’ve added the Trash mechanic, allowing you to remove up to two cards from your deck, and three new Campaign Cards to help you earn free cards and build your perfect deck.

🛠️ Gameplay Changes & Balance
Added German language!
Players must now complete 3 out of 3 campaign cards to progress.
Enemy AI now receives an improved cash bonus and smarter logic for looting and pawning.
Added new Street Backgrounds
Data Mining: Earnings increased to $100 (up from $50).
Protection Money: Now clears $500 debt for every enemy-owned BIZ.
Bug Fix: Gangster and Construction Company now correctly award $200 per BIZ played.
Scratch & Win: Now costs $0 In addition to paying off debt, it now grants a random reward between $0 and $300.
Rat's Conspiracy: Cost reduced to 300 (was 400).
Grand Larceny: Cost increased to 400; Robbers now steal 300 (was 200).
Turtle Shield: now costs 400.
Building Improvements: Now grants +3 Defense to a BIZ (up from +2).
Diploma: Start every game with +$100 and -200 Debt.
Degree: Start every game with +$200 and -200 Debt.
Ramen: Start every game with -300 Debt.
Life Guard (Fix): Now correctly revives any killed ally Henchmen back to the board.

So here we go! The first pass of the new neighborhood, Beach, is up and running. We've added 11 unique cards and one deck for the campaign, and one deck for PvP.

New Cards
As a small roadmap, we want to add cards every week. So, stay tuned for more content!
Also, an important change to the game is that these cards now Draw a card from your discard pile. This way, we want to help smaller decks and make the gameplay more dynamic.
Patch Notes

Items now have class affinity. They won't be in your pool if you are not playing with the corresponding neighborhood.
Added beach leaderboard
Added the item 'Plane Tickets'. Adds a 'Tourist' card to your hand at the beginning of the game
Campaign items affecting initial money and initial debt are now properly combinable
Reduced the difficulty of level 1 enemies by increasing players' starting resources
Balanced many BIZs and made them more tanky overall.

After thinking about many new ideas and prototypes, we've decided to keep working on our beloved Urban Cards and to finally announce a new neighborhood:
Introducing Beach
By the rising seas. Tourists descend like a swarm of bright pink locusts, ready to squeeze the last drop of forgetfulness and fleeting pleasure from the hours purchased in advance. They lose their minds and their wallets, while the locals smile indulgently. Beaches bright like glitter, golden tans and the pallor of salmonella.
This faction will be available soon after finishing our port to Switch. Stay tuned for news and help us test it!
Patch Notes

Controller support Yes! It took some time but we finally have controller support.
Optimized the way the game loads textures. Now the game works on older systems with less memory by having a low-rez version of the textures.
Tweaked Restaurants PvP deck to make it more competitive.
Now you can play PvP against BOTS. Just click the JOIN button and select one of the BOTS. This way you can practice and try decks to later use against other players.
Reduced Hackers Boss difficulty. Also, hackers don't have Stolen Credit Card item anymore
What else have we been up to?
We have been working hard on the port to the Switch as well as testing some other tools like Unreal Engine that has helped us prototype a few game concepts like Urban Karts. This is just an idea but we wanted to share this poster with you guys and see if you dig the idea of a racing game with an economic component within the Urban Cards universe. Let us know what you think in the comments :)
