It's been a week already since we released our game worldwide. Let me type that again because I'm not sure I fully understand what I wrote:
We made a game that's been released WORLD. WIDE.
We still can't really believe that the game is out. The love and support we've received is quite extraordinary and we can't thank you enough for being with us the whole way!
One week in and we already have an 80 Metacritic score (which is absolutely huge for an indie developer)
and multiple outlets praising the game (to quote a few):
“When thinking about what makes Disney films so good I always come back to one conclusion. It’s that they can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike. In many ways, Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan is the video game equivalent of that. It has the colors and wholesome humor that kids will love but enough gameplay depth for adults to get sucked in too.”

As indie developers, we rely on every last crumb to be able to project our game into the gaming universe in hopes of it getting talked about and played by the masses. We realize that we still have some minor bugs to assess (shoutout to those of you who joined the Discord server to point them out and help us!). Our discord server remains open and is still the best way to get in touch with a dev if you're experiencing any type of issues in-game or with your console. From Steamboat Billy to Rainbow Billy, a team of 3 to a team of 20 (at one point), winning the Ubisoft Indie Series, pitching to publishers, landing Skybound Games, moving to a new office, invited to be a part of the Indie Mega Booth at PAX East and being nominated for Best in Show, a pandemic taking over the world, figuring out how to develop a game with a team remotely, a fire in our new office that flooded our floors with an inch of water, Wholesome Direct + E3 showcase - we've been through quite a lot. The most important part was that you all stuck by us and supported us until the end.
Thank you. Thank you for your continued support and for believing in a small indie studio from Montreal, Quebec, Canada who had a small idea but dreamt big. If we're here today delivering this game to the world, it's thanks to you.
We hope (through this little game of ours) to bring you happiness and that you enjoy every last second of it just like we did. Being an indie developer is a lot harder than people think.
