For several months I've been working on one big and final update for On the Verge II, which will bring numerous improvements to the game, as well as take On The Verge II out of early access!
The main feature of this update is improved and changed voice acting of the main characters and complete Arcade. The full list of changes can be found below.
Voice acting
• Completely changed the voice of the main character (Nikolai) + the sounds that are subject to it;
• Changed the voice of Michael Gromov in the first half of the game;
• Changed the voice of Burned Michael.
Arcade
• New Arcade mode: Armed Survival;
• New opponent: Burned Michael;
• New map for the mode "Survival" - Second Location;
• New skin for Michael Gromov: Medical mask;
• New Steam achievements for the Arcade;
* Console for settings in "Survival" mode.
Game settings
• New setting in the pause menu: Gamma.
Enemies
• New H.R.E.N attack animation;
• Increased running speed of Michael Gromov;
* Improved areas for walking enemies.
Interface
• New interface for single-player campaign missions;
• Improved loading screen;
• Fixed bugs that could occur when displaying the Victory or Lose screen in the Arcade;
• New displays for interaction buttons;
• "Dopamine" is changed to "Serotonin" in the Arcade;
* Minor fixes to the Arcade interface.
Animations
• Added body animation for Nikolai;
* Added animation for hands when player detected by the enemy.
Cutscenes
• DoF added in some cutscenes;
• New cutscenes for the mission with boxes;
* Removed the monologue about alcoholics in the Overture.
Locations
* Changed box marks in the third test;
• Changed the readiness zone mark in the seventh test;
• Changed the exit door in the sixth test;
• Changed the "square landscape" location in the Second Location.
Graphics
• Improved the glow of the flashlight;
* Improved "eye adaptation".
Display
* Fixed the display of the game icon.
