Axis Football 2020 is now live!
Axis Football 2020 is now live on Steam. We have completely overhauled the gameplay system, creating a much smoother experience and higher quality football simulation on the field.

I'm happy to announce that we've released Axis Football 2019 v2.7! This update had lots of game improvements and a few bugs fixes. Check it out!
Game improvements

Improved playcalling, specifically to balance the number of runs vs passes called by default
Added the ability to switch defenders within the same defensive group (DBs, LBs, DLs) - use the left and right bumper on your controller when on defense
Added an option in TEAM.TXT to specify how the team will handle run pass balance. Use the tags "PassingWeight" and "RunningWeight". These two numbers must be integers and combine to add up to 100
Added collisions to the goal posts, so field goals and PATs can now hit them and bounce off more realistically
Added kicker power into the calculation of what it means to be "in field goal range" when the AI is deciding whether or not to kick a field goal
Allowed kickers with high kick power to kick it out of the back of the endzone
Bug Fixes

Improved the logic for kick accuracy for AI controlled kicks. Accurate kickers will now be more accurate, and less accurate kickers will be less accurate.
Improved the logic for punting so there will be more coffin corners for punters with high accuracy (regardless of kick power, which was causing too many punts to be touchbacks)
Fixed a bug where AI controlled kicks were more frequently missed from the left hash and made too frequently from the right hash
Fixed a bug where the offense would go for two sometimes when they were ahead but shouldn't have

I'm happy to announce that we've released Axis Football 2019 v2.6.0! This update addressed some gameplay issues and bugs. Here's a complete list:
Game improvements

Added custom playbooks via Mods/Playbooks folder. Check out some example playbooks and an excel sheet detailing more in that folder.
Updated play calling to take score into account, not just down and distance. There should be fewer blowout games where teams continue to throw the ball when ahead.
Added a delay to when offensive players will be notified of a fumble when it occurs behind the LoS, to mirror real life where the defense would have an advantage
Added a 25% penalty to catching after a pass is deflected
Reduced the amount of tackles broken behind the LoS, this was unnaturally high
Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where dropped passes were counted in stats if there was a deflection earlier in the play
Fixed a bug where multiple tackles were being broken at the same time, which was unrealistic
Fixed a bug with continuation into the endzone on a turnover + defensive touchdown where the line of scrimmage would end up in the endzone
Fixed a bug where receivers would get stuck on each other when running routes across the middle of the field

I'm happy to announce patch v2.5 for Axis Football 2019. This update addressed more bugs. Here's a complete list:
Bug Fixes

Updated penalty logic to be more reliable and consistent
Fixed a bug where a turnover that resulted in a defensive touchdown would not award the score to the defense
Fixed a bug where the wrong down and distance was shown on the decline option for pre-play penalties (false start, encroachment)
Fixed a bug where the wrong accept/decline text was show for the penalty options on kickoff out of bounds
Fix a bug where a penalty on against the offense on 4th down would not result in the defense declining the penalty to have a turnover on downs

Quick patch here, Axis Football 2019 v2.4.1. This update addressed some pressing bugs. Here's a complete list:
Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug with with play call logic where the AI wouldn't go for the TD if they were down late
Fixed a bug with penalty logic where defense was choosing to decline a penalty to allow a scoring play if it was 4th down (normally would be a turnover on downs if not a scoring play)
Fixed a bug with penalty logic where the defense would not choose to decline a penalty if it caused a turnover on downs
Fixed a bug where simulation of games / expert picks could end up with a negative score because of simulated missed extra points
Finally, I rolled back the bug fix "Fixed a bug where declining a penalty on a scoring play didn't properly award the score". The "fix" for this bug was causing points to be awarded to the wrong team (thanks to user JaCrispy for pointing this out) along with some other accidental side effects. I'll get it fixed ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We are happy to announce that we've released Axis Football 2019 v2.4. This update addressed some gameplay issues and bugs. Here's a complete list:
Game improvements

Added Kicking and Punting stats to the game!
Added some additional checking when loading Coaching Staff CSV files from Mods. The game will no longer hang up if there's a problem in this file. It will instead log the issue to the Mods/Logs folder
Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where declining a penalty on a scoring play didn't properly award the score
Fixed a bug where random players would be assigned as the kicker or punter in Franchise mode if yours was injured
Fixed a bug where the home team would catch more interceptions in AI vs AI mode
Players should duck under passes less frequently
Fixed a bug where the formation indicator in the scorebar would be in the wrong position if the home/away status was switched

This update addressed some gameplay issues and bugs, and snuck in a few features as well. Here's a complete list:
Bug Fixes

Fixed P1 Lead Receiver slider, which was not working after the v2.1 changes
Set default for P1 Lead Receiver to 0.0 (down from 0.05). If you are seeing a lot of overthrown balls please check this setting and make sure it's set to 0.0
Fixed "Stick Push" option, which was not working after the v2.1 changes
Fixed a bug where running out of bounds when returning a kickoff resulted in a penalty
Fixed a bug where game settings were showing when you first loaded the options even though the audio tab was selected
Features

Added the ability to override penalty frequencies for individual penalties using the file located at Mods/Settings/Penalty.txt
Added the ability to export franchise roster and player stats. Check Options -> Mods -> Enable Export to start using it. CSV files will appear in Mods/Exports folder

We are happy to announce that we've released Axis Football 2019 v2.1. This update addressed some game play issues and bugs. Here's a complete list:
Game improvements

Receivers should catch more balls in stride, this should also lead to fewer interceptions
When an interception or fumble happens and the user is able to control players they will gain control of the player recovering the ball
Added the option to choose controller icon style, now the buttons on-screen can match the buttons off-screen
Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where the AI was using the player consecutive run/pass plays to make its own run/pass decision
Fixed a bug where a delay of game after a punt would cause an inconsistent game state
Fixed a bug where the AI would not accept a penalty on delay of game if the playbook was showing
Fixed a bug where the user coaches never got credit for a win when playing a live game
Fixed a bug where a penalty was not called if a kickoff went out of bounds before passing the goal line
