5 Years of The Ascent: 12 Million Players and What’s Next
When we founded Neon Giant and set out to make The Ascent, we had a clear vision: to make games the way we wanted to make them. Without middle management, each individual owned their creative contribution. We were a small team, but you could feel the impact of every single member

When we founded Neon Giant and set out to make The Ascent, we had a clear vision: to make games the way we wanted to make them. Without middle management, each individual owned their creative contribution. We were a small team, but you could feel the impact of every single member. The features, the city sectors, and the narrative weren't designed by a committee or mandated from the top down. They were crafted by individuals (sometimes after heated discussions), always with passion.
Many of you noticed the intense level of detail we poured into the small things: how each fiddly bit on a ship or market stall is modeled and textured, how every cutscene accounts for every friend in your multiplayer squad, and how we packed in as many sci-fi references as our 12-person team possibly could think up.
We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished with The Ascent, and you showed up in droves to support us. Millions of you downloaded the game, making the trek across the universe to Veles. We released our debut game at a time when people were desperate for fun, cooperative games to play together. Many of you saw the heart and soul of what we were striving to create, and for that, we thank you.

But many of you also noticed the bugs. Some of these compromised your experience and interrupted what should have been great gaming sessions. We are truly sorry about that. We aren't here to make excuses. We're here to announce fixes.
THE PATCH IS COMING

Some of you might be saying, "Buddy, you are five years too late." We apologize that we couldn't address everything sooner, but this marks a new chapter for Neon Giant and The Ascent. With Krafton's support, we've not only expanded our studio as we continue development on NO LAW, but we're also excited to share that we have massive plans for The Ascent franchise as a whole. The Ascent remains our foundation, and we intend to fix it up first before expanding into new platforms, new genres, and future sequels.
We'll share more details about the patch timing and the future of The Ascent as we get closer to release.

Our aim is to reverse the global decline in whale and dolphin populations by stopping cruelty from deliberate harms such as whaling and captivity, creating safe seas, free from the threat of pollution, collisions with vessels and accidental entanglement in fishing gear, and winning recognition of whales and dolphins as sentient, socially complex beings, and our allies in the fight against climate and nature breakdown.
Whales and dolphins are awe-inspiring. They are intelligent beings, vital for the health of the ocean and planet. Together we can help them recover and flourish, and they can help us reconnect with the wild, and repair the damage we have caused.
All the games in this sale will be generously donating a portion of their net profits to support our conservation work to help protect whales and dolphins across the globe. Whale and Dolphin Conservation is a UK registered charity, no. 1014705.
