Hey folks...
I know it's been a while, but I wanted to see if anyone can beat the current WR speedrun for Hatch.
Yes, there are a few submissions on speedrun.com !

If anyone is still following the game, give it a shot!
First person to succeed, will get a free key for Lorn's Lure when it's out :)

Not many people may know this, but Hatch was originally a much more ambitious project. I had to scope it down to meet my skill level at the time as a developer. Now I finally have gained the XP to tackle the project as I originally envisioned! Lorn's Lure is a spiritual successor

Lorn's Lure is a spiritual successor to Hatch. A more detailed and refined poem. More challenging too!
Set to release (preliminarily) in April 2021
An android is led through a vast structure by a glitch in his visual system. Lorn's Lure is an atmospheric narrative first-person platformer with novel climbing mechanics and modernized retro 3D graphics.

Hey everyone!
Thanks for your support over the past few months - I'm glad a passion project of mine had such a positive reception!
I've just launched another game called Hollow Head: Director's Cut.
This is a remake of a game jam game I released earlier last summer. It got a lot of positive reception after the jam, so I decided to polish it, give it some more depth, and release it on Steam!
Please check it out; I worked very hard on it, and it doesn't cost much :)
You can buy it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1171260/Hollow_Head_Directors_Cut/
If you're not convinced, there's a launch trailer below.
Enjoy!

Hey everyone,
It took a while for Steam to approve the prices, but they are now consistently equivalent to $2.99 USD, translated to all currencies!!!

Hey everyone,
Please like this post if you are waiting for controller support to buy the game.
For transparency, I want to determine if I should continue to implement this feature vs start a new project, since it might be a large effort for little gain.
Hope you don't mind - I am a solo developer after all.
(and if I don't implement it for Hatch, I promise my next game will have controller support factored in)
Thanks,
Hey Everyone, I've added a much-requested feature: SAVING! Hatch now saves automatically at checkpoints, and respawns you when starting the game anew and pressing "Enter". You can clear your saves at the start menu by pressing "c". Hopefully this will help everyone reach the top

I've added a much-requested feature: SAVING!
Hatch now saves automatically at checkpoints, and respawns you when starting the game anew and pressing "Enter".
You can clear your saves at the start menu by pressing "c".
Hopefully this will help everyone reach the top over time :)

Hey everyone,
This update addresses the following issues raised by the community:
- slow climbing / cannot climb a steep wall unless you hop up
- if get caught in the sun, no fast way down
- can easily shoot yourself off the sides of a narrow wall due to poor running mechanics
- that feeling that it's not your fault that you can't make a jump
The changes are still not perfect, but should adequately address the above problems with the following new movement mechanics:
- climb walls without hopping (although you can hop more crisply to speed up)
- can walk left, right, and down walls (but not too steep an angle down)
- generous fall-off-ledge jumping
- running is the default, press shift to walk
- jumping is tighter in general
I've also added a dot cursor to help those with motion sickness.
Please let me know if there are any bugs, i'll improve the mechanics if necessary :)
Below is a video summarizing the update. Hope you enjoy!
