Changelog

New realistic lighting system.
New vehicle (SUV) available at XP level 10.
Improved 3D model of the pickup truck.
New buildings with optimized performance and detailed (and destructible) interiors.
Enhanced physics for tornado-induced destruction.
Visible car body damage caused by hail.
Unknown tornado categories until they cause destruction or data is obtained with a probe.
Wind force affecting trees and grass.
Bonus points for capturing a lightning strike in a photo ⚡ .
Language, time format, and distance format options added to the general settings.
Car mirrors and physics accuracy options added to the graphics settings.
Team selector in Versus mode.
Ragdoll physics for players and animals (🐮 ) caught in a tornado.
Wet textures when it's raining.
Many optimizations for improved performance.

Hello Steam! It's been a looooooong time... I know... and I'm really sorry ːsteamsadː. Today I would like to share the new developments made with the v0.9 version which will arrive as a public beta at the end of June.

LIGHTING As many of you already know the lighting in v0.9 has been totally remade and has continued to improve and over the last few weeks:
TORNADO CATEGORY A tornado will not have a known category until it begins to strike objects, trees, cars, or anything that might indicate its category. This means that an EF5 with an unknown category will give you fewer points than an EF1 with a known category.
DESTRUCTION The physics of the destruction caused by tornadoes has changed as well. You can see those changes in these two short videos: Mission 3 in v0.9 Mission 6 in v0.9 And remember that hail will also damage car bodies:
And... that's all! I guess a lot of players aren't playing the game anymore after so long, but it was important for me to come back and release this version with so many changes. Thank you so much for your patience and see you the last week of June for the public beta!

Hello Steam! It's been a while since something were posted here and I would like to apologize for it. Today I would like to share all the progress made with the v0.9 version.

LIGHTING The lighting system has been totally remade to get better looking colors.
BUILDING MODELS All of the buildings/tree models are being replaced with simpler ones (less polygons) to optimise performances. The car repair garage will now be separated from the gas station. Destruction of farms and city buildings will be improved.
BUILDING INTERIORS All of the buildings/houses will have a realistic interior. You will be able to access to your house, building's rooftop or any other opened building (This is not Thief Simulator)
ANIMALS All of the animal models have been updated... with Ragdoll! (But please, be kind to these poor beasts)
WETNESS I've also been working on a wet surface manager that modify the wetness of different textures when it is raining to have a more realistic rain.
CAR MODELS This next version will also increase the car model quality (mirrors, polygons, damages... etc.) and add a new vehicle model that will use slightly different probes.
BIGGER MAP I don't have anything pretty to show for the moment, but I am working hard on it to get a big and optimized map to play all together.

After several months of hard work and beta testing, the new v0.8.0 update is now live.
Changelog

New Features

New radar visuals
New cloud's appearance with better supercell formation
Possibility to get flat tires when driving off road
New FM radio mode to read local files (mp3, wav or ogg) (You can change the folder in the settings)
EAS alerts on the FM radio when a tornado is forming or moving close to a town.
Thunderstorms and Lightning strikes added that can destroy objects or kill players

Improvements

Pretty big optimization for better performances
New Unity version used for more stability
Turn signals added
Toggle picture saving when looking through the camera
Ability to lock the car doors online to avoid other players to enter into your car
Add footstep sounds
Add stars in the sky during the night
Add some smoke when drifting with cars
Reduce view distance depending on graphics settings
Faster character animations to crouch and jump faster
Hands transparency can be changed in the settings
Possibility to change to the other seat in your car
Tornado siren is now rotating when active

Customization

You can use your own audio files for the EAS warnings and the tornado sirens (Read the file in [GAME_FOLDER]/Mods/Audio)

Modifications

Online Feel The Power duration has been set to 20min (instead of 10min).
Missions 6 and 7 duration has been reduced by 1min.
Bugfixing

Famous "Draw" bug in online versus game mode has been fixed.
Players were, sometimes, spawning in the same house in online free roaming.
Sometimes, in free roaming game mode, portable gas cans were not available in the gas station store.
Warning residents option was available even when the house was destroyed.
Tornado's icon on the radar was rotating in online Feel The power.

Features

Add a laptop in the car. You will now be able to upgrade your gears directly from your laptop and navigate through the map on your radar. This also adds a new feature to be able to upload your photos and probe's data. With this change you will still earn points when you take pictures but no money. To earn cash you will have to upload your photos and probe's data to your laptop. This upload will last longer if you don't upgrade your bandwidth. Uploading your photos will also free up space in your camera storage. It is always better to upgrade your camera storage to avoid having to upload your photos right when you are chasing a tornado. Here is a short video of the new laptop feature included:
New "Home" interaction in free roaming. You will now have a home where you will be able to rest or to sleep. For now it is just a menu without an interior in 3D. If your house is destructed by a tornado, you will have to pay and wait (depending on damage amount) for its reconstruction.
"Feel the power" online versus game mode added. In this game mode, you control a tornado and you have to earn more points than the other team (normal storm chasers). You have to destroy things to be able to increase your category. There will be a destruction bar to know how much you have to destroy to gain access to the next category. You can watch a small peak of this upcoming game mode here
Warn residents of close tornadoes. If a tornado is close to a house, you will now be able to knock the door to warn possible residents. It won't give you money, but a good amount of points.
Camera's battery management. You will have to take care of your camera's battery level. You will be able to charge it in your car and will have to remember to take your camera with you before getting outside of the car if you leave it charging.
Modifications

Avoid player from being sucked by a tornado if he is protected behind a wall or similar (and the tornado doesn't destroy that wall ːsteamhappyː)
Optimize map performances
Probes will give you more points (up to 300pts in a EF5 direct hit)
Players will earn less points if they are taking too many similar pictures.
Make the game brighter
Car's lights have now a greater range and lights from street lamps are now wider
Offroad is now more complicated because the terrain is no more flat outside of roads
Better damage sounds when a tornado hits something
More violent physics when a debris is sucked up by a twister
Update max players number in online free roaming private to 8
Increased tornadoes max speed
In free roaming you will now earn XP every 12h instead of every 24h.
Bugfixing

Tornadoes were not spawning after sometime in online free roaming
Unity version updated to avoid some crashes
Respawning car in Wakota gas station was not working
Changed time of day 00pm and 00am to 12pm and 12am
When player was dying in singleplayer free roaming, he was respawning in his house instead of the gas station (to be able to respawn his car)
Increased the speed needed to be hit by hail when the windshield of your car is broken
If your car was in a forbidden area (in gas stations), respawning it was not changing this state
Changed break light color of the cars
Avoid getting vertical trees rendering when they are uprooted by a tornado
Some female clothes were locked until level 0 was reached
Some debris were flying far away when getting hit by a car
Cars were flying when driving over some big debris
And that's all! Keep in mind that this is a big update that could include some new bugs Thank you so much for your patience. Have fun!

Upcoming version v0.7

Add a laptop in the car. You will now be able to upgrade your gears directly from your laptop and navigate through the map on your radar. This also adds a new feature to be able to upload your photos and probe's data. With this change you will still earn points when you take pictures but no money.
