Hi everyone... It's been a hot minute!
The last few years have been a whirlwind of game development, family life, and trying to survive as a solo indie developer.
For those who may not know, I’ve been working on a new game called The INDIGO Initiative. A first-person narrative-driven puzzle adventure that I officially revealed last year. Since then, development has continued full steam ahead, and I’m now preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign to help push the project through the final stretch of development.
The campaign pre-launch page is now live, and if you’re interested in following the project or supporting it when the campaign launches, I’d hugely appreciate you hitting the “Notify me on launch” button.
Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page:

And give the game a Wishlist on Steam:

I also just want to genuinely thank everyone who supported Infliction over the years. Seeing people still discover, stream, discuss, and recommend the game all these years later has meant more to me than I can express. Infliction completely changed my life and opened doors I never imagined possible as a solo developer working out of a spare room.
I’m hoping The INDIGO Initiative can become something really special too, and I’m excited to finally start sharing more of that journey with you all.

I’m happy to announce Infliction update 2.6. This update focuses on Optimization and bug fixes for some hard to find and significant bugs that have been “haunting” the game for some time. I’m also very excited for one of the new features that I always wanted to add but couldn’t find the time.
Without further ado, Infliction update 2.6 contains:
Additions:
Thank you to anyone and everyone that came to check out Infliction and have a chat to me. I enjoyed hanging out with all of you. The ID@Xbox event held at the Microsoft campus was awesome and if you ever get the opportunity to attend, it’s a great way to see some of the best indie games coming to that platform. I’ve never been to Seattle before this trip, such a beautiful city and My first PAX West was fantastic. Now that I’m home I’m preparing for PAX Australia which is only a few weeks away. You might be wondering why I’m still showing Infliction at conventions? Infliction will be coming soon to Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch thanks to the fine folks at Blowfish Studios. So, if you’re attending PAX Australia, come by the Blowfish Studios booth and say hi. I’d love to have a chat with you.

I also wanted to update you all on the current state on Infliction and where to from here. I’m currently working on two updates. The first will be an optimisation update. I know that’s not particularly glamorous but the performance increase should be noticeable in some of the more performance hungry areas of the game, particularly on older hardware. The second update I’m working on is for more content. Both updates will include some minor bug fixes too. In-between these two updates we should see Infliction launch on Consoles which is super exciting for me and I hope for you too.
That’s everything from me for now. Thank you all again and keep an eye out for that optimisation update coming soon.
Cheers,
Clinton.

I’m happy to announce Infliction update 2.4. This update adds Spanish subtitles and UI as well as unlockable bonus content, changes, improvements and fixes. I’ve heard folks say the paintings in the game are interesting. I thought I’d set the bonus content in the Tall Pines art gallery showing most of the art work off. Enjoy!
Without further ado, Infliction update 2.4 contains:
Additions:
I’m happy to announce Infliction update 2.3. This update adds Russian, French and Japanese subtitles and UI as well as some small additions, changes, improvements and fixes based on community feedback. Apologies for the slight delay of this update, it turned out to be larger than I expected.
Without further ado, Infliction update 2.3 contains:

Thank you all for being so patient for this update. Update 1.13 has been mostly focused on optimization – Making improvements to areas where performance issues had been reported by the player community. This update also focuses on fixing reported bugs and implementing a few ‘quality of life’ improvements based on your feedback. Thank you so much!
Without further ado, the Infliction 1.13 update contains the following:

I arrived home from PAX Australia couple of nights ago, and got straight in to this update. I couldn’t wait to jump in and get this patch done - it’s a big one with a lot of improvements! Thank you so much to the community for being both helpful and patient!

Hi all!
I’m excited to announce that Infliction is out now!
Get yourself in a spooky mood by watching the new Infliction launch trailer before playing, now listed on the store page or online here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNKEXWzIGNg
Thank you so much for your support! I will of course be fixing bugs that come up, but my focus now will be heading to Melbourne to showcase Infliction next week at PAX Australia as part of the 2018 Indie Showcase.
If you’re there, please come say hi! For other players - hope to chat to you online soon. We will have news in future about other support languages, console plans etc - but for now, the best way to support in Infliction is to pick up a copy on Steam and leave a review. :)
I can’t wait for you all to play Infliction. Thank you again for being an important part of the community, and helping my dreams come true.
Cheers,
Clinton

Here’s part of the animation when it’s first being worked on - placeholder textures, no lighting or environment. It’s important to get the movement right at this stage, so that it ‘works’ even without the context of the rest of the game. My animator spends a lot of time at this stage to get this feeling right.
Once I’m confident about the animation, we implement it. Now we can check it out with textures, lighting and the environment - and playtest with this animation factored in. Our playtesters have been loving this in-game - when you play Infliction, this may be one of the ways you meet your end!
Here are some other screenshot examples of scenes I have been polishing. There may be some details that others would miss, let me know if you notice anything mysterious. ;)
Thank you for your continued support.
