Surprise Free Update Hits Cooking Simulator with New Mode
Out of nowhere, Cooking Simulator just got a pretty big free update, and it is kind of a big deal. No long teasers, no hype buildup, just a drop that adds a completely new mode and seriously upgrades one of the core mechanics.
🥨 New Mode: The Pretzel Challenge
The main addition is The Pretzel Challenge, a brand-new game mode set in a quirky, Bavarian-style TV show where everything revolves around precision and performance.
At first glance, the concept seems simple. You take a variety of ingredients, including the iconic pretzel, and cut them into two perfectly equal halves. But very quickly it becomes clear that this is far from easy. Every single piece is carefully weighed, and even the smallest imbalance can cost you points. A cut that looks perfect might still be off by just enough to hurt your final score.
The challenge pushes you to rely entirely on your control and consistency. You need a steady hand, good judgment, and the ability to adjust on the fly. There are no tricks or shortcuts here, just your skill and how well you can execute under pressure. Each attempt becomes a test of focus, where even a slight mistake can make the difference between success and failure.

🔪 Cutting System Rework
This is the part that really changes the game.
Cutting has been changed to be much more accurate across the board. The biggest change is that product mass is now calculated using mesh volume, which means the weight of each piece actually matches what you see.
In short, knives feel sharper, cuts feel cleaner, and your precision actually matters now.
🛠️ Other Fixes
A few extra fixes came along with the update:
Fixed the “Tastes Better. 4” achievement unlocking in the wrong modes
Fixed broken glass not saving between sessions
Fixed issues with the Glass Quality setting not always applying
If you have not played in a while, this is a really good reason to jump back in. And if you have, you will probably need to relearn how to cut all over again.
