Devoured Time is yet again complete in terms of this last version. Currently bug test are being conducted to weed out any bugs before re releasing. I do suspect other bugs may be found after release do to the nature of pc development, but I will create a discussion for that and work on fixing any that pop up. I am shooting for end of October early November release date, however that may change if any big bugs pop up.
Side note, while this release will be the last in major updates, it wont be the last update. I plan on releasing new side quest and continue to expand the games lore. With all the main systems in place it's not hard to add more quest and even expand gear. Nothing will be DLC, just free updates to the game. New achievements will be added for those to.

Devoured Time's major update is about 75% at this stage. The main quest is complete, moved onto side quest and UI updates. This stage will also see the update of achievements. This will most likely reset and either remove or make your achievements invalid for this game. I am creating all new ones as the game is completely different. Currently looking at 14 achievements, however this may increase.
Current Updates Below
Current Level Cap 25
Main Story will take about 2 hours to complete if you skip everything else
Can only carry one single hand weapon, shield and one two hand weapon
Weapons and armor can be changed at item shops
Those are some of the key things. Story time will vary, its based on my test and I know where everything is so I go pretty fast. There will be collectables, hidden areas and lore to find for those interested.
Thanks again for those who support this game.

I just wanted to give everyone an update on the games overhaul progress. Things are moving along, while slower than I wanted but moving never the less. All systems have been completed so now its just a matter of adding in the content (Quest, items, enemies etc). The main menu is complete along with the loading screens. Below is a short list of new features and possible features.
• Multiple mini boss paths
o Unlike the current version of the game you have a choice in how to handle mini boss fights. Nearly all mini bosses can be persuaded via conversation or avoided all together.
• Armor & Weapon Combos
o There are different armors and weapons you can equip that offer a range of different perks
o Example: You can equip a piece of armor that absorbs enemy health if they hit you or a sword the causes enemies to bleed.
• Weather & Time
o Time persists through locations and besides looking nice it affects enemy spawns.
o Night time is a bit more dangerous
o Some enemies only spawn during day or night
Those are a few changes in this new version all of which are in the version I’m working on now. Thanks again for everyone still interested in the game.

Hi, I am at a stage where I feel comfortable talking and more importantly showing some game footage. Below you will find the link to the video which briefly shows some of the games features and new art style. Here I wanted to go into more detail on the game.
Art Style
A big change to the game is the art style which is completely different from the original. I made this change for two reasons, one I personally like the new art style and two it's a complete pack. By complete pack I mean each and everything from people to monsters to items are consistent. I did my best in the original version to only use models that fit together but it was hard, and you can easily see the different styles. But now and as you will see in the video, 95% of the art is consistent while the other 5% is the weather effects and some particle effects that are slightly different
Game Play
Big changes here as the controls have been completely changed to a more fluid style. In comparison its similar to dark souls minus the evasive rolls. You can block and move out of enemy attacks
New movement actions include jumping and crouching which play a part in the exploration part of the game
Better Quest management allowing for multi tier quest and more depth
Gear change has been implemented to. You will only be able to carry one large weapon on the back, a smaller one on the left hip and a shield on the back. This drives the need for preparation as enemies are weaker to some weapons.
Player magic is gone, replaced are magic weapons that can be found
Random dungeons have been added which are referred to living dungeons in the game. They offer multiplay experiences and also serve as end game content.
Dynamic weather is in, and showed in video. The game will have a day/night cycle which affects the types of enemies you will encounter outside of dungeons.
Rare encounters, treasure and other things can be found during special conditions such as night, during rain, after you killed x amount of enemies etc.
Armor can be found or crafted which change player stats and also have other benefits
Player level system added to help progress gameplay around your style
Story
While the story as a whole remains the same, all the quest have been updated and how you get to the end has changed along with the ending
Once you complete the game you will unlock new gameplay features like Dungeon Survival and other side quest
Steam
Achievements will be updated
Thanks for checking this out. Please take a look at the video and let me know your thoughts. I know its been a while since I released Devoured Time and it did not deliver what I hoped, but I hope with this new version those who bought the game will feel it was at least worth the money you spent. This new version is for all of you who supported me from the start, thanks.

I won't make any excuses, Devoured Time was not the best game. I decided a while back to move on and release the final version. Recently after a few years of studying and time to think I decided I wanted to update the game. I'm not sure if anyone is still even interested in the game, but I owe it to the people who paid for the game to have a better experience.
So for a few months I have been trying new things, looking at what i wanted to do and coming up blank. It started to become a different game, something way off from the original. But today I decided to go back and play the original and while it's not the best game at all it still has a strait forward story with a interesting item system. The problems I found (which was easier to see, having not played it in over a year) were things I can easily improve and fix now.
The plan now is to keep the story, level layout (to a point), and over all theme but I will be using a new art style, expanding the combat, item system, and dialogue. The original game had little to no guidance so that will be updated to. Minor story changes will be made to align with the new art style and game play.
Please comment if you are still following this game and are interested in a new version. Also please comment if you completed the original game.

I will be updating that with my games and current projects. There is also a forum there too. I will be releasing some games via that website alone so check it out. I will still be using steam to.
For those who bought this game before today you will be eligible for something extra since I will be reducing the game price on steam. More details will come on my website and I'll post here when I set things up. It will require proof you purchased the game as there were several contest and free keys that won't qualify.
Thanks for all who did support this game.

It's been a good while since I updated those interested in the game, but during the that time I have worked through several versions of the game, and narrowed it down to one final version.
I had to scale back the game to compensate for my lack of funds and time, but I think the new version and other games to follow will not only be more fun in general but be priced even better.
It's not quite ready yet for release but it's close, just working on side quest and polish. The rest of the game is complete. There will be a short bug test timeframe after its fully complete so I can catch any bugs and fix them before it goes out.
The new version is a complete overhaul on everything the original game was. The story is centered around one person, a powerful warrior with magical abilities. You start with all the skills and weapons and you're quite deadly from the start. The story is clear and less wordy as previous versions. You will be able to complete the main story in a couple of hours if you avoid side quest, Collectibles and what dialogue there is.
Side quest will help provide lore and rewards that continue to build the world this game takes place in. Along with finding notes in the world you will also be able to find relics and other hidden items that provide even more lore.
Steam achievements will be active this time around, over 10 so far, more may come.
Below is a list of features that won't be in the game and why.
Base building - while the current version has a base building mechanic it was poorly implemented on my part and after several builds it just doesn't fit within this game, but that's not to say I won't be making another game set in this world later using that mechanicːsteammockingː
Multiple heros - The main reason for this is just lack of female animations.
Player Levels - In this game your the elite, your skilled and have max skills, you'll find you slay most enemies with ease, even some bosses and that was a design choice. I want to tell a small story, set up a world, and create key characters for games to come.
For those who enjoyed the current game or were intrigued about what it could have been, I hope you will follow this new version and my other projects in hopes of getting more exposure for the potential of what the rest of my games can be.
I created a new website, it will be updated more so than here until I finish the game update. You can check out my current projects along with games that have been released via my company.

It's been a while since I created an announcement, wanted to get something worth wild first, but I did get some comments and question about the game so I figured I would post a sort of status update here.
While the game was released a bit ago I have not stopped working on it. So here are a few questions I received.
Q- Is development dead?
A- Well technically the game is released and I could just leave it at that, but I', not satisfied with it. Not making excuses but Early Access did not go well at all. I was hoping to make enough money to work on the game full-time, hire people for art assets, and expand the game. I blame myself for being inexperienced with managing a project like this.
Q- Whats the state of the game now?
A- Well the game became something far from my original idea, mostly due to time and funds. But like I said, in the beginning, I am dedicated to those who supported me from the start and I have been working on an update.
Q- What is the future plan?
A- Well I have been taken my time reworking every aspect of the game. I'm working on it alone so I know my limits. The plain truth is there are some things I just can't do on my own, so instead of trying to add them in (half-assed), I'm just going to make the things I can do great and leave out incomplete things.
Q- What is this Update?
A- It's the game I first came up with when I started. The story is set in the same universe, just much later in time. This update changes everything from the controls to how the game flows and looks.
Q- When is the Update?
A- When it's complete, I work on it every day after my normal job and it's pretty far along. I've begun early testing which will continue the entire process.
So there are some of the questions I received, below I will give you a brief idea of what the game will look like.
-There will be achievements.
-(More Info to come)
There will be collectibles in all the worlds, lore to find, and other hidden things. You can go to any zone besides the final one when you start the game.
So this is a small amount of info when the update is done minus polish and testing I will create new videos and screen shots. At that point, the update will also have a release date.
If there are more questions, post here.

Those that have played and completed Devoured Time will get to experience a new story, better and more polished.

Below you will find a video showing off the island the survival part of the game takes place. Survival was once just a small part of the main game, but after if started becoming more I removed it from the intial game to leave for a large expansion at no extra cost. Unlike the base game which went through major changes, the survival will see little of that and wont release until its complete.
Bugs will continue to be fixed, a new window under the settings will show are key bindings. Please let me know if you have a certain stlye in mind, I see if I can add it.
Small note, I undersatnd the game isn't doing well review wise, and there are a number of valid issues people have as well as some not so valid. I think everyone is intitled and I will never delete or remove anyone who dislikes my game. I also wont make excuses for the lack of content, not super great animations, or limited options. I think the game is worth the price now and will be priced lower then its worth after each expansion.

It's been a few weeks since the last post, been busy manly bug testing things. The game itself is complete but there are still bugs. I have been testing along with another tester and we have found and fixed many of the bugs.
It's hard to work out, or find all the possible bugs with a small testing team but I think the game is ready enough for a release. I will continue to fix any new bugs and I will get more feedback from different types of pc's.
So what will be in the released version of the game? As I mentioned before, the short story I wanted to tell is in, there are books, trinkets, weapons and tools to collect. There is a weapon socket system, some side quest and one special magic quest. There are 10 mission's at the War Room to play and a good number of enemies to fight.
What isn't in the first release? The rock/paper/scissor combat won’t be in this release nor will survival. I had planned on putting the RPS combat in, but felt it needed a much larger focus to really be worth it, same as the survival element. Both will still be coming, expansion style but free of course. Each will add the same amount if not more in terms of content. Survival will come first, leaving RPS for the last major one.
Look out for the release in the next few days, please rate and review it. Good or bad I want to know what people think and where I can improve. I appreciate everyone who plays my game.

Another update without a video, but I think next update I should be able to create one. By then I will have a ton to show. But like before much has been done since the last update so here goes.
Enemies
All enemies are in, animated, and take and deal damage. Overall there are 15 different types of enemies, and few sub types within each class. Each enemy will share some weaknesses with other enemies, some have more than one. More on enemies in the next video update.
NPC’s
All key npc’s are in and have their first stage dialogue in.
Tools
Each of the 4 tools are in and each function. More in the next video.
Current Task
Currently the top priority is finish the Rock/paper/scissor content. After that’s in its really just cluttering the map, tweaking quest and bug test/fix.
Time Frame
It’s looking really good to have the game complete by the end of this month. Then I plan on taking July to polish the map, animations, etc while testing for bugs and releasing the game in September. Keep in mind while the game will be released I will still be adding content.
Thanks for your support.

Progress Update
No video this update, but much has been completed since the last video. The main story is yet again complete. It was updated and tweaked for the new maps and game play. Now onto the changes.
Skills – I changed it from four to three, attack, heal, and status attack. The main reason is now the mouse can be used to attack and heal. Left mouse = attack, right mouse = status attack, and middle mouse = heal. The main reason for this is it makes the combat a bit faster.
Jump – Jump has been temporary or possibly removed. The reason was simply it caused quite a bit of extra map editing since through testing my tester was able to jump over all the main game points. Now this may or may not be temporary cause it would involve quite a bit of map over hauls. Since this ability does not affect much it’s not major if it’s not implemented.
The only other major change is the reduction from 20 people in the town to 10. Now this is one of those features that will continue to grow after the game is released. I didn’t want to crowd the maps with a ton of people all wanting to go to your base, so in future releases I will add more you can find and recruit. Now even as the number is 10 they each will not only require something to recruit, most will then offer other quest.
Next actions.
The main story and the recruit able people are being tested. While that is going on I still have about 10 other enemies to create, a few are mini bosses. The last boss needs to be tweaked and that battle needs to be fleshed out. The zones are in and done for everything except clutter so that’s going on to. The final thing is next week I will start on the war room mission and the engineer building.
That’s it for this update, thanks for the support.

The video in the link will explain a bit more, but here are some of the key points.
Inventory
After I updated the game with pickups it became clear that the inventory was really only related to building, and felt kind of out of place, so inventory management is gone for the most part.
Story
This hasn’t changed much in terms of the plot; it has however been tweaked to start off a bit linier leading to more open ended play style.
Combat
This is much the same except much faster with power ups.
Home Town
This has changed a bit, now instead of running around building houses and what not it’s become much more like suikoden , where you find and recruit people whom build their own structure.
Turn Based Battles (rock,paper,scissor)
Not much changed except for how you get units, which is more on the gold. Think mercenary’s for hire instead of training.
So the reason for these last minute changes is related to a few things. I’ll list them below.
Time
I can’t continue to spend the extra time on the project, instead I needed to set firm time lines, so the game will be released by the end of this year no matter what. Goal is in 3 months.
Budget
Or lack thereof, unfortunately sales have been quite bad. Most have the game from a sale or prize or something like that. Had I not had a full time job this would have ended a month after it started.
Team
I started off with a team of three, but things didn’t work out and I’ve been solo for nearly the entire time it’s been on steam.
So while the odds have been stacked against me in just about every part of this process I’m not one to give up. The game that’s released will be a full game, while shorter and minus a few features I wanted, it will be well worth the price. I only hope that when it does release, that people see what one person was able to do, and see that investing in my is worth it.
I will continue to upload progress videos, but the next update to steam will be when it’s done. When I say done I mean the main story and all its related content, I will continue to create content and modes but in a much more relaxed state, and free of course.
Thanks for your continued support.

I have received feedback on the inventory, crafting and building systems. I already had an idea they would need some reworking so I already began work on that. The current system is a bit too complex for this game mode, meant for more of a survival mode, which will hit the game later. Also the combat gets boring having to wait for health regen or potion/spell timer to regain. So below is what’s coming in the next patch.
• Resource harvest will now continue without need to click again and harvest much faster.
• Crafting recipes have been reduced
o No need to craft an iron bar, iron sword, leather armor etc
o Instead for units you craft a kit which uses basic resources and does it all
• Buildings will cost less to build while upgrades will cost more
• No more crafting potions, instead enemies are going to drop health orbs (similar to diablo 3)
o Survival crafting will be removed in this mode, focus should be on quest, lore, weapons, building and deployment
• No more will you need to go home to equip weapons, instead it will be the only thing you see in your inventory (weapons), which you will be able to equip outside of combat.
o So find a new sword, check its stats and use right then if you like.
• There will now be two resource types for town management
o Type 1 = Structural (wood, stone, copper,iron, gold)
o Type 2 = Food (Apples, bacon, eggs, ham, etc)
Type 2 is required for some town upgrades and missions
That’s it for those system overhauls. Enemy levels will also be scaling with player with a new formula. Most of the above has been completed, the goal is to have it done and in testing by Monday and live the following Monday.
Thanks for supporting Devoured Time.

Version 3.0 is now live to play. I’m considering the game now in Alpha instead of Pre Alpha since you can now complete quest, kill things, buy and sell things, die, save, and 7 out of 8 zones are playable. Now that the game is in alpha there will be little change to most of the mechanics that are already in, the main story is now rewritten and set, and the types of zones a set.
Update Notes
• This version has all 25 quest in, however the last one is locked until game release for story reasons.
• This past week the game has been in testing, which turned up a bunch of bugs which have been fixed, however there may still be bugs.
• This version is limited to Hero 3 and 2 weapons, and one tier of skills.
• The skills do have bonus effects, skill 1 is just damage, skill 2 may slow the enemy down, skill 3 may cause bleed effect on enemy, skill 4 heals with particle effects.
• The skill system is still new so expect changes to damage and defense formulas to balance.
• Sound effects are back and turned down a bit, and there is different music per zone, which may or may not be permanent.
• Save/load works but remember unlike some games there is only one save, so starting a new game will delete old save.
• Build up to 6 houses in this build
Upcoming Version Changes/fixes
• Inventory/harvest/character ui’s will be changing soon
• Zone changes will be updated to be like home to swamp via ui window
• Inventory system itself will be updated (possible infinite space)
• Harvest and crafting will be updated to be faster and more auto
• The character stats and info will change when the window does.
• Player home ui will get small update to.
Possible Bugs
• Has been some zone transfer issues where player isn’t spawned. If happens let me know which zone you came from and where you were going.
• Some animation bugs during movement equipment changes
• Some enemy ai issues with path finding
• Some bugs with building houses (please let me know if you experience this)
• Currently when you die you need to wait 3 seconds before loading saved game or you will load dead. If this happens you should be able to reload and it will be fixed.
Version Tips
• Each zone is meant to be higher in level so I would recommend killing some random mobs and getting to the next level for each zone as enemies currently do not scale.
• Some enemies, more specifically boss like ones have weaknesses and special skills so pay attention to quest notes.
• Most zones do not have the “zone transfer UI” instead you just walk towards path and trigger invisible event that loads new zone. Due to some issues with this, it will be changed in next version so all zone transfer will first ask you via a UI is you want to go or not.
• There are no respawns after death so I recommend save in town at blue orb before you head out to other zones. (more saves will be added later, maybe)
