Condors now fly around the CALDERA. Ever wonder why those big nests were around? Don’t get kidnapped!
Petrifying rocks have been added to THE KILN
Hot rock bridges have been added to THE KILN
Added 2 more luggages in the spawner for THE KILN and removed 1 luggage from the statue area at the end of the CALDERA, but made it guaranteed to spawn better luggage.
Believe it or not, we’ve actually been putting in a lot of work behind the scenes to prepare the game for console ports! In this patch, we’ve merged in the porting work with the main Steam version of the game. This may introduce bugs or cause installed mods to stop working, but we wanted to get these issues out of the way before we actually launch on consoles. But on the bright side, we now have:
PEAK has room codes!!! This is how players will be able to play cross-platform once our console ports are out.
In a lobby, you should see a room code on the pause menu that can be copied and sent to your friends.
They can enter that code by hitting “JOIN GAME” on the main menu.
Existing ways to invite your friends to games will still work.
In the Settings menu, there is an option to hide the room code (for streamers)
Fanny Pack is now disabled in solo play.
You can no longer duplicate a Scout Effigy with Scout’s Generosity (for real this time)
Using the Rescue Claw on a friend will ragdoll them for less time, making it easier for them to grab onto something once the claw completes.
Bouncy Mushroom changes:
The max velocity you can get from bouncing off a mushroom from high up has been raised. This should make it more consistent to get the Mycoacrobatics Badge.
Jump height will decay slightly faster on consecutive bounces.
Bouncing onto a mushroom from higher up will now make it less likely for you to bounce at an unpredictable off-angle that could lead to taking fall damage.
Dislodging stuck-in arrows will no longer take priority over interacting with other things you might be looking at
Fixed “evil bounce mushrooms” having the same coloring as normal ones in the mushroom hell variant of ROOTS.
Fixed cooking a Rescue Claw leading to unintended behavior.
Fixed Frogs not turning into Frog Legs when getting cooked by environmental situations such as explosions.
Fixed an issue introduced in the last patch where Pandora’s Lunchbox would only inflict one type of status.
Fixed a case where the host's dropped items would sometimes disappear if they disconnected
Rapidly dropping/picking up items in a laggy lobby should no longer have a chance of deleting the item
Spike traps that have had terrain generate on top of them will not trigger.
Fixed a case where your "Peaks Summitted" stat would get incremented several times when winning, instead of just once
There is now a HUD indicator for when you are muted when using PUSH TO TALK/PUSH TO MUTE settings.
Your campfire save will now remember all the items you've got around the campfire instead of just what you're carrying on you
Citadel's TowerStacker code is no longer obfuscated
* Added a new batch of maps with Gloom/Citadel to the daily rotation. These are just here to keep the maps fresh until we fold Caldera and the Kiln back into the rotation next week!
HEY SCOUTS! Just dropping in to say that we're leaving GLOOM + THE CITADEL exclusively up for ONE MORE WEEK! This not only gives players a chance to try out the biome if they haven't yet already, BUT it also gives us a chance to fix some much needed bug fixes in CALDERA and THE K
HEY SCOUTS!
Just dropping in to say that we're leaving GLOOM + THE CITADEL exclusively up for ONE MORE WEEK!
This not only gives players a chance to try out the biome if they haven't yet already, BUT it also gives us a chance to fix some much needed bug fixes in CALDERA and THE KILN... and maybe a cool new addition...
Thanks for the patience! You'll see all CALDERA and THE KILN biomes back in the rotation soon alongside GLOOM and THE CITADEL. Say hi to the frogs for me ːPEAKblushː

Hey scouts!
Apologies for the bugged amulet spawn location yesterday... This patch should prevent that from happening again! We also nerfed the frogs yet again, hopefully the last one?
BALANCE CHANGES
Reduced number of Clown Luggages needed to complete the Jester Achievement from 3 -> 2. May rework this achievement entirely later.
In the last patch we introduced a nerf to ropes by making it cost stamina to start grabbing them based on your distance from the rope. Since exploiting that lack of stamina cost is mostly a speedrunner technique and otherwise doesn’t affect gameplay much, we’ve reverted this change. Go nuts!
MORE FROG NERFS (fine you guys win)
Max Tongue Distance 22m->18m
Max Tongue Angle 16°->14°
Cooldown 10s->12s
Pandora’s Lunchbox can now add some Curse to you sometimes. Use at your own risk…
Pandora’s Lunchbox will ignore Invincibility when adding statuses to you. It was just a bit too good, sorry!!
Cooking the Book of Bones will no longer provide any benefit.
FIXES
Improved map generation to prevent Amulet statues spawning inside of rocks and making the Amulet unobtainable.
Basic scout hats and berets should now be properly textured to match new costumes.
The Scout’s Generosity amulet can no longer clone Scout Effigy. As a note, the Checkpoint Flag and other Amulets are also not cloneable.
Color Blindness Mode will now make the Arrow Shooter “laser“ more visible for those with red-green color blindness.
Anti-gravity spheres shot from the Antizooka now only last one minute to prevent soft-locks by placing one atop an unlit campfire.
Fixed the sprite that appears when unlocking the sash after completing Ascent 8.
Fixed a localization issue where Traditional Chinese text would display in Simplified Chinese.
Fixed the Bing Bong Airlines logo appearing backwards on the helicopter :)
Thickened the colliders on wrought-iron fences to reduce the likelihood of the player ragdoll getting stuck in them.
Fixed another scenario where the checkpoint flag could leave scouts in a broken state on another player’s screen.
Looker rocks should once again match the biome they’re in
Fixed an issue where cloning the jetpack with Scout’s Generosity created a jetpack with maximum fuel.
Glider fixes:
The Glider no longer gives forward momentum when ragdolled, such as when using the Play Dead emote.
Fixed the Glider’s networking so the positions of players using it are synced properly.
The glider now rotates forward in your hands when out of stamina as a visual indicator of its power being disabled.
The Glider now protects you from the sun’s heat in MESA.
Big Ghosts will now avoid spawning directly underneath players better.
Fixed an issue where Big Ghosts could sometimes spawn slightly too high underground, giving you less time to react to them after they spawned.
Okay! That's all for now. We're still keeping an eye out so let us know if anything else breaks in the meantime (But like, hopefully not) - The Peak Team
PATCH NOTES 2.01.a ːPEAKbingbongː Hello Scouts! Thank you all for your feedback and bug reports for The Final Ascent. We wanted to get this quick patch out before the weekend, and yes, we nerfed the Frogs a bit! Patch Notes: BALANCE Frogs now have a global cooldown where no other
Hello Scouts! Thank you all for your feedback and bug reports for The Final Ascent. We wanted to get this quick patch out before the weekend, and yes, we nerfed the Frogs a bit!
Frogs now have a global cooldown where no other frog can grab you if you’ve recently been grabbed.
Nerfed Infinite Stamina across the board (specifically to target Bugle of Friendship). Gaining an infinite stamina buff will no longer immediately set your stamina to max. It will still prevent stamina from reducing and allow it to begin to regenerate like normal even while doing stamina-using actions like climbing. It will also let you do stamina-using actions even while your bar is visibly depleted. We know some people really like using the Bugle in its current state, but we feel that it’s just too good compared to basically all other Mystical items when you understand how to use the mechanics efficiently.
Fixed issue where players would stay muffled after dying to a flytrap
Fixed an issue where the Ritual Dagger could be used indefinitely.
Fixed an issue where killing a player who had placed a Checkpoint Flag with the Ritual Dagger could break their voice chat and mess up their character animations.
Fixed an issue with the collision of the backpack-shaped rock in [iREDACTED].
Fixed an issue where the level generation in [iREDACTED] could soft-lock a run by placing a rock in the wrong place.
Improved level generation in THE CITADEL to prevent floating obstacles.
Picking up an Amulet (Scout’s Ambition, etc.) now properly awards the Esoterica Badge.
Skeleton Scouts are now affected by spiders, flytraps, and arrow traps. (Be especially careful around the arrow traps…)
Capped how far forward the Big Ghost can spawn in GLOOM, to prevent it from appearing inside the stairs to the Citadel and ambushing you from below.
Glider no longer ignores custom run and ascent level’s stamina usage modification.
Portable stove cooking time restored to 60 seconds. Oops!
Fixed an issue where you could be stuck with permanent anti-gravity if you exited an anti-gravity sphere in specific ways.
Fixed an issue where scouts would sometimes not get achievements for completing biomes after loading an auto-save or reconnecting to an ongoing game.
We forgot to include changes to rope and chain behavior in the previous patch notes. Apologies! We've also seen some complaints about these changes so far so we'll take another look--but for now these are the changes currently in-game.
Jumping off a rope or chain will now properly give you a vertical boost.
Climbing a rope now costs sliiiiiiightly more stamina.
There is now a small stamina penalty for "magnet-ing" from far away to a rope or chain.
The chain you're currently climbing is no longer prompted as an interactable when you're on it.

One of the must-play online co-op games, PEAK from Team PEAK / Aggro Crab is officially finished now with the final free major update. Read the full article here:

We have reached peak Peak. By that I mean, the final major update that was teased last week, The Final Ascent, is here and ready for you to try out. The big thing here is the two new variant biomes, Gloom and The Citadel. Gloom, unsurprisingly, is an incredibly foggy area filled with massive trees, mysterious bells and ominous spikes, whereas The Citadel is mostly just that; a castle-like structure with swinging spiky balls, secret arrow traps and those floors where a bunch of spears shoot upwards and you have to time walking across them just right.
THE FINAL ASCENT Hey Scouts! It’s finally time!! We’ve been hard at work crafting PEAK’s final Major Update, and can’t wait to share it with you. This update comes with new variant biomes: GLOOM and THE CITADEL, which will cycle out with CALDERA and THE KILN! Alongside that, ther
Hey Scouts! It’s finally time!!
We’ve been hard at work crafting PEAK’s final Major Update, and can’t wait to share it with you. This update comes with new variant biomes: GLOOM and THE CITADEL, which will cycle out with CALDERA and THE KILN!
Alongside that, there are new items throughout the game, a variety of bug fixes and updated mechanics, and something SUPER SECRET, only for the most determined scouts…

As always with biome updates, the next TWO WEEKS will exclusively feature maps containing the GLOOM and THE CITADEL. After that, like other biomes, it will be random whether the CALDERA/KILN or the GLOOM/CITADEL spawns in a daily map.

Added GLOOM and THE CITADEL, randomly replacing CALDERA and THE KILN on some maps.
Mysterious statues have begun appearing all over the island… no one is quite sure, but they seem to have a connection to the Scoutmaster’s original lost troop… and that’s all I’m gonna tell you! Have fun!
THE FINAL ASCENT
Ascent 8 has been added. The description is a bit of a spoiler so we’re gonna let you guys discover it on your own 🙂
Ascent 7 has been changed.
We felt that preventing players from reviving, while it did make it a challenge, made this Ascent less fun and was not in the spirit of the game (and its meaningless in a solo run!). Instead of “You cannot revive the dead” it's now “Start cursed and take more curse from revival” to properly punish repeated deaths without locking players out of the rest of the run entirely.
New Badges
There are 10 new Badges to unlock and new cosmetics to go with them! For you completionists, don't worry, this is the last time we’ll be messing up your 100%.
New Luggage Type: Clown Luggage!
Open one to get a bunch of wacky items!
The Lollipop, Cannon, and Balloon Bunch will now spawn in Clown Luggage instead of Climber Luggage.
Loading an existing auto-save will no longer delete the save - they will now only delete when the run ends, regardless of winning or losing. Rejoice, save scummers!
New Items:

Jetpack: Equip this in place of a backpack and fuel it with assorted items to reach new heights!
Warp Fungus: A strange new form of fungus growing on the mountain. Try throwing it to see what happens!
Glider: Extremely effective at crossing horizontal distances. Just don’t run out of stamina!
And more we won’t tell you about…
The game is now localized in Traditional Chinese!
The annoying bug that causes random fall damage when grabbing the wall with no stamina has been fixed. Read more about the changes to sliding fall damage under Balance Changes!
Heavily reduced the frequency that arms would twist unnaturally when holding an item in your hands.
Fixed an issue where items from a previous run in the same session could sometimes spawn randomly for players who joined the game later.
Fixed an issue where being prompted to grab pitons would sometimes not work, especially when directly on top of the piton.
Fixed an issue where throwing an egg at a surface would only stick it to that surface for the host.
Fixed an issue where some badges would clip into the sash and not be visible.
Fixed an issue where, using controller, Player 1 becomes unresponsive after selecting an item in a backpack while a Player 2 is equipping it.
Fixed issues where players would receive poison damage after using a non-food cooked item.
Fixed issues related to incinerated Scout Cookies giving poison damage incorrectly.
The Anti-Rope Spool no longer makes sound while it's in the backpack.
Fixed issues with the blindness affliction duration.
Carried scouts will now be affected by the Remedy Fungus healing AoE.
Dozens of other bits of polish that aren’t worth mentioning!
Several changes made to ROOTS, with the goal of making it less of an outlier in terms of difficulty compared to TROPICS:
Made several changes to beetle behavior to make them slightly less aggressive and prevent them from conspiring to trap a scout in place.
Decreased radius of spore mushrooms in ROOTS significantly.
Decreased spore affliction of spore mushrooms slightly, but also decreased the falloff at distance (meaning you'll get more spores on the edge of the radius than you used to)
Wind will now disable these for an extra 2 seconds after the wind ends.
Increased the average time between windstorms a fair amount.
Other Balance:
Campfires now give Morale Boosts to solo players.
The MESA has been lowered in height to match the ALPINE better.
Ancient Luggage spawns slightly more commonly in all biomes.
Made Fortified Milk slightly rarer, but increased the amount of hunger it cures to make it more useful as a food item. The invincibility effect remains unchanged.
Made Scout Cannon slightly less common.
Made Scoutmaster’s Bugle slightly more common, though still rarer than most other Mystical items.
Drowsy decays slightly faster in all situations.
The Portable Stove no longer spawns in the fourth Biome.
Made Checkpoint Flag a bit rarer & removed it from Climber Luggage.
Cursed Skull bonus stamina gain increased to 100%.
Energy Drink
Previously removed all your Drowsy and then gave you back all the Drowsy + a flat 25% when it wore off.
Now removes a flat 50% Drowsy and gives a flat 25% Drowsy when it wears off. You cannot gain Drowsy when the effect is active.

Since this is the last major content update, we’d thought we’d answer some questions that are sure to come up. If you have more questions or issues with the game, please reach out to us at [email protected]
As we’ve said since the beginning, PEAK isn’t a live-service-game. We intended to release a game that was “finished” on launch, and any major content updates would be the cherry on top. Due to the game’s overwhelming success, we’ve already spent quite a bit more time on it than we originally expected, and added so much more to it! We don’t wish for it to become a “forever game” where we constantly add new things that bloat the experience, just to try to keep people’s attention.
A small team develops PEAK, made up of developers from two studios, Aggro Crab and Landfall. As much as we all love the game, we want to return to working on our own separate projects.
But PEAK isn’t going anywhere!!! You’ll always be able to keep playing it, and we will continue to provide bug fixes and maintenance until we are satisfied with the game’s stability.
We love that people are making mods and adding what they want to see in the game, and we consider this an especially important part of the experience once we’re no longer pushing major updates ourselves.
After discussing it with the modding community, we decided not to implement tools like Steam Workshop, as many modders prefer other tools and it isn’t possible to use the Steam Workshop cross-platform (see below!). That said, we remain supportive of modders who want to create cool things for the community. We try to help when we can, and have been sharing some source code with modders to make it easier to mod the game.
If you want to play PEAK with mods, we recommend you check out the unofficial modding Discord to see the amazing work of modders!
https://discord.gg/SAw86z24rB (This discord is unofficial, and is not moderated by Aggro Crab or Landfall.)
We’ve been slowly working on porting PEAK to other platforms. Now that the final update is out, we can really focus our attention on bringing the game to consoles!
And the big news… PEAK is going to be cross-platform, meaning that anyone who picks up the game on console will be able to play with the existing Steam community, as well as any other console platforms!!
More news will be coming later this year! If you’re reading this on Steam, you probably don’t care as much! But if you have friends who play games on console, get them hyped!!!

As always, thank you SO much to all the players who have enjoyed PEAK and continue to do so every day. To the players who have made fan art, mods, or stream the game to share with others, an extra special thank you for putting your heart into this fantastic community. We still appreciate any feedback you’ve got for the update or the game generally, and both Aggro Crab and Landfall hope to continue bringing you new fun experiences for a long time to come.
Yeah, okay SUPER quick - We still have PEAK anniversary plushies available with Makeship! They're around until August 15th so scoop them up before you get too stun-locked into the new update :)

Hey Scouts! The team is still cooking on the final biome BUT we've also been working on a bunch of bug fixes, try it out.
Major Fixes:
Fixed MOST REMAINING CASES where taking an item out while facing a wall (especially the backpack) would cause it to clip through the world and disappear. IT SHOULD NOW BE SUPER HARD TO DO
Bonking into the wall during a failed Helping Hand will no longer rapidly drain all your stamina
Significantly reduced the number of cases where Helping Hand would fail to be helpful
Minor Fixes:
Fixed issue where voice chat would break after leaving and rejoining a game
Reconnecting to a game with an item in your hand will no longer sometimes cause the player to take fall damage
Decreased patch install size slightly
Improved randomization of map gen seeds
Autosaves will now self-destruct AFTER a player successfully resumes the run, rather than when they start loading the map
Fixed Magic Beanstalks not showing up for late-joining players
Optimized a LOT of meshes (performance should be most improved in Roots)
Fixed lava rivers never showing up inside the Kiln
Mesa Oasis/Mirage will now appropriately randomize their trees and bushes
Scouts will no longer sometimes get Mentorship Badge for no reason
Modder Notes:
Updated Unity project version to 6.3.15f1
Number of maps in build changed from 21 -> 42
Raytrace shaders are now serialized into their respective fields in LightVolume
LightVolume.Bake and PropGrouper.Run have been made async methods
PropSpawner_* classes are now child classes of PropSpawner
Added LevelGeneration.Run console command (doing this during a run will probably just break your game, though)
The BiomeResults inside MapBaker.selectedBiomes now includes a list of the selected variantName for each respective biome
OK BYE
Fixed EVEN MORE CASES where taking an item out while facing a wall (especially the backpack) would cause it to clip through the world and disappear. IT SHOULD NOW BE SUPER HARD TO DO Bonking into the wall during a failed Helping Hand will no longer rapidly drain all your stamina

- Are you encountering any invisible level geometry?
- Did you find any out-of-place assets?
Floating vegetation/rocks?
Vegetation/rocks with textures from a different biome
Objects that are obviously the wrong scale or the wrong orientation
- Did you find any weird lighting/shadows, especially in Alpine or Mesa?

When Landfall and Aggro Crab set out to make a game together, we never imagined the heights it would take us to, from the one-month game jam to millions of players and a The Game Awards nomination!
It’s been truly life-changing for both teams, so thank you all for being on this journey to the peak with us. It means a lot ːPEAKbingbongː

We’re currently working on the last biome, which will swap with Caldera and the Kiln! It needs a bit more work, but we’re so excited to release it later this year.
Here's a little teaser for a piece of luggage that will accompany the next update.

BTW if you're looking for some PEAK merch, Mighty Merch is doing an anniversary sale!
