Fixed an issue where multiple players interacting with the tear in the Nexus all at once could cause client players to get stuck loading
Fixed an issue where skills could desync during the Terror Byte boss fight
Fixed an issue where players could start online multiplayer lobbies by themselves
Fixed an issue where players could be pulled while jumping over pits 🔥
Fixed a memory leak with the physics engine

Hello, Knights! We hope everyone is enjoying the changes to the Architect fight and the addition of the True Architect! As usual, we've been listening to all the feedback and have put together a small patch to make a few balancing changes and to fix a few bugs. Please see below for all the details that are included with Update 2.2.1!
Balancing & Minor Adjustments

Ronin Reflex

Updated to remove the window where the player was vulnerable if they did not successfully counter an attack
Updated to always allow the player to cancel the counter stance with a roll
Updated to allow the player to move, at a reduced speed, while in the counter stance
Increased the counter timer from 1.0s to 1.4s
Increased the counter radius from 70 to 75
Increased the projectile destruction time from 0.8s to 1.2s

True Architect

Updated to no longer support stealing skills
Updated the attack patterns in all four phases
DEV NOTE: The goal of this change is to make the inverted controls and item stealing easier to deal with by making the Architect always use the Teleport Barrage attack right after the phase transition. This should act as a consistent grace period before the Architect resumes his normal attack patterns.
Reduced the attack speed in phase 4
Updated the teleport barrage attack to allow the True Architect to be damaged while firing the horizontal blasts
Reduced the damage dealt by the teleport barrage attack
Updated the elemental barrage attack to prevent the same element from being chosen multiple times in a row
Updated the stolen item orbs to support getting hit immediately after being fired
Updated the stolen item orbs to be targeted by Aim Assist
Updated the stolen item orbs to prioritize orbs with items when deciding which orbs invert your controls
Reduced the True Architect’s max health and damage in Boss Rush
Reduced the Fallen Knight’s damage in Boss Rush

Fixed a bug where the Void Mantle’s Dark Star was not properly activating stun relics
Fixed a bug where the proper skills would sometimes not be given at the start of a Daily Dungeon 🔥

Fixed a bug where the player would have significantly reduced invulnerability while rolling if the player was charging an attack before rolling 🔥
Fixed a bug with saving and quitting where the reload process may not function properly after repeatedly saving and quitting
[WotA] Fixed an issue where the True Architect’s hitbox was reduced significantly 🔥
[WotA] Fixed an issue where the Reborn Knight’s hitboxes were reduced significantly 🔥
[WotA] Fixed an issue with the True Architect’s constellation attack where the hitbox of the beam was wider than the visual 🔥
[WotA] Fixed a bug where the player would get stuck when using the Hyper Gloves dash charge attack against bosses 🔥
[WotA] Fixed a few issues where some cursed relics would reapply their cursed effect after being stolen by the True Architect 🔥

[WotA] Fixed a bug where Lady Inferna would sometimes be permanently invincible after her phase transition

The first idea, that was somewhat close to where we ended up, was a more RPG-based game complete with NPC behaviors, day and night cycles, etc.

Spring 2020 - Major Gameplay Change
A pivotal meeting occurred where we decided that we were on the wrong path. It was this meeting where we learned that no one in the studio was excited about playing the game we were making...clearly a red flag lol
Taking a step back and with a critical eye, we analyzed what we had and decided that the only thing about the game that was good was the combat. We decided to focus on making that the foundation of the game, improving and polishing it as much as we could, and scrapping everything else
Name changed to Rogue Souls

Summer 2020 - Major Story Change
We changed the story from being a ghostly character in the afterlife to a fire-imbued hero destined to save the world
This is the point where the game really starts to take shape

This proved to be a grueling process of about 2 weeks with over 50 other names not making the cut

February 2021 - Gameplay Revealed
The first gameplay trailer is released

Hello, Knights! A few of you have shared your thoughts about the Architect fight being a little too easy, so we've been working on some changes that we feel punch the fight up a little bit. We didn't take the fight to soul-crushing levels, but feel like the changes we did make bring a nice level of difficulty to the battle. Before we fully roll out changes to the Architect fight, we'd like to get your feedback. If you're interested in testing these proposed changes, you'll need to opt in to a special experimental beta.
Instructions for Joining the Experimental Branch

From your Steam library, right click on Ember Knights and select Properties...
On the left of the popup, click Betas
In the Private Betas section, enter TheArchitectIsGoingDown and click Check Code
A new blue button should appear below that says Opt into: experimental - Branch for external testing. Click this button
Close the popup and launch Ember Knights

Boss Fights
This DLC comes with 4 new bosses and 4 new minibosses. The gatekeepers of the altered new worlds will show no mercy, especially to that of a measly Ember Knight. If you manage to survive these deadly new bosses, prepare for the ultimate showdown as you take on the creator of the entire Ember Knights universe himself - The Architect!
Weapons
2 new weapons will be added to your repertoire - the Hyper Gloves and the Ember Buster. Both weapons offer a unique new way to defeat the legions of new enemies waiting for you in this DLC.

I bought the DLC, when will I get the new content? Spoilers ahead.
If you're a brand new player, the DLC content will unlock after meeting Evee and seeing Praxis in Steadfast Citadel, the second world of the base game. Note: these two conditions occur very early in the game and are required to preserve the flow of the story.
If you're already a player, the DLC content will unlock right away.
Does the DLC work in multiplayer?
Yes
Do my friends need to buy the DLC for us to play together?
No. If the host has purchased the DLC, the team will have access to the new content. However, for a client to have the new content on their own account, they would need to purchase the DLC.
Are the different game modes available in multiplayer?
Yes

Fixed a bug with Arch Praxis that could cause him to become invisible and invincible during the second round of the fight 🔥

Hello, Knights! This is a bit of a surprise update since we originally planned to cease updates between 1.5 and Ember Knights 2.0 - Wrath of the Architect, but the following content could not be ignored!
EMBER CAT - GLOBAL COMMUNITY CHALLENGE
We've heard your requests for an Ember Cat to go along with our adorable Ember Dog, so we've created a global community challenge for our players to show us that there's enough interest for an Ember Cat. If there is, we are committed to making the Ember Cat a reality! When you first launch the 1.5.2 update, you'll see a new icon on the main menu. Opening that will provide more information as to how the challenge works. In short, just keep doing what you do - go on runs, kill enemies, kill minibosses and bosses, and earn points! Once in the Nexus, visit the new Wanted sign that the Stewards have so carefully built. This will be your home for keeping track of your personal progress as well as the global points total. For your individual efforts, we've added some fun new rewards!
ASTRAL ASCENT COLLABORATION
We've been talking to the wonderful people over at Hibernian Workshop and it turns out, they're huge fans of Ember Knights! We also love what they're doing with Astral Ascent, so we decided to collaborate! We love what we've come up with and we think you will too! Both games feature crossover content and in Ember Knights, you'll now see a cute little Yalee running around the Nexus. Interact with them and they'll give you a brand new skill - the Yalee Barrage. In addition, they'll also give you the Astral Ember Dust to unlock a brand new player color! Also be sure to check out the latest update from Astral Ascent (also live today!) as they created their version of the Praxis fight!

Kill enemies, bosses and minibosses, variant bosses and minibosses, and find the hidden kitty on your runs and collect points to contribute towards unlocking the Ember Cat! Also includes:
New weapon skins
New cat ears cosmetic for your Knight

Astral Ascent Collaboration 🔥
Includes the following:
New Yalee NPC
New Skill - Yalee Barrage
New Player Skin - Octave inspired

Bug Fixes
And a few fixes are included.
Fixed a bug that was causing the player to take an incorrect amount of damage or armor reduction when they would take damage at the same time as gaining armor 🔥
Fixed an issue in multiplayer where the players could become softlocked when waking up the Mimic King 🔥
Fixed an issue in multiplayer where players were unable to refine relics in the refinement selector 🔥
Fixed a few visual issues in multiplayer when a client would max out a weapon's mods before unlocking it
Fixed a visual issue in multiplayer where the weapon podiums would stop glowing after the host opens the mod UI
Fixed a bug where the Golden Steward could occasionally drop a charge speed gem 🔥

Balancing & Minor Adjustments

Updated Ultimate Skill Upgrades to equip automatically when any 2 upgrades for a skill have been equipped. (Reverted to previous implementation) 🔥
Updated to allow skill upgrading in Scoggfirth. All Skill Selectors will include upgrades. (Reverted to previous implementation) 🔥
Warrior Wisps Upgrade III - Doubled the healing. (Reverted to previous implementation) 🔥
Ballista Upgrade III - Doubled the healing and removed the healing cap and cooldown. (Reverted to previous implementation) 🔥
Seek and Destroy Upgrade II - Doubled the healing. (Reverted to previous implementation) 🔥
Added the chance for the Golden Steward to drop additional items with his gold 🔥
Removed the gold cap for additional loops when endless looping 🔥
Updated the boss rewards to include Ash when defeating a boss 🔥
Reduced the cost of the Refinement Shop 🔥
Updated the Rainbow Player Skin to not cycle through the colors in sync with a teammate 🔥

Fixed a bug with saving & quitting with Quasar Orb and Nexal Staff's Arcane Mastery where the upgrades will be lost when resuming 🔥
Fixed a bug with saving & quitting with Cloak and Dagger and Reaper Toll's Hidden Blade where the upgrades will be lost when resuming
Fixed a bug with disconnecting where Marvin's unlock sequence is triggered again 🔥
Fixed a bug with the Rainbow player color where the icons weren't being used when saving as a preset color 🔥
Fixed a visual bug where button prompts can remain visible after exiting the inventory when viewing upgrades for a skill 🔥
