If you haven’t had the chance to step into the boots of a liquidator yet, now’s the perfect time to experience the gritty reality of a post-disaster world and join those who risked everything to contain the unthinkable.
We have prepared another Stability Update update (v1.6.56). Check out the detailed list down below:
We decided to shift the game's emphasis slightly, and as a result, the Helicopter and Epilogue levels now appear after the Power Plant level;
Further optimizations related to Power Plant Level - The level should be more stable, and there shouldn't be significant FPS drops;
Improved visibility of the main fire at the Power Plant Level;
Improved lighting at the Power Plant Level;
Added a short cutscene before the Pripyat level to better show the depth of the situation's difficulty;
Fixed a bug that could prevent the quest related to throwing the graphite off the roof from completing;
Corrected a bug that played impact sounds when the level began;
Improved the readability of some UI elements, such as Item Inventory Details or Journal View;
Game memory optimizations.

It’s a time to reflect on the real-life events behind the story, and to remember the people whose lives were forever changed.
We’ve also prepared a special branch for you to jump into if you want to downgrade a game version for a while in case of some problems or game-breaking glitches. We upgraded to a newer version of the engine, a lot of things have changed, we fixed and tested everything, but we prepared it in case something went wrong.

Thank you all for supporting the game! And remember to have your eyes peeled for any information from us!

PS In response to your questions - the screenshots were taken after level optimization, so you don't have to worry about performance issues problems ;-)
Namely, the interest in our stand exceeded our wildest expectations, and the queue to the Chornobyl Liquidators stand did not decrease during all three days of the fair. It is said that only one other game enjoyed so much interest - a game whose action also takes place in the Zone and refers to Chornobyl (if you know what I mean) ;-) Our success was noticed and appreciated by the organizers, who honored us with the prestigious PGA Awards 2023 Best Indie Booth statuette! However, for us, the greatest reward was the enormous interest that you - the players - showed in us during this event.
But PGA is not only about meetings and long conversations with players, but also about establishing new relations within the industry. Here again, we can boast of several successes, such as establishing direct contacts with the GSC team, exchanging industry experiences with other gaming industry representatives and establishing contacts with many external companies.
So you can say that it was a very successful event. Next week we will show you how work on the project is progressing!

When creating the storyline of Chornobyl Liquidators, we decided to give players the opportunity to make moral choices, which are also storyline choices. For each of them will be reflected in the storyline. Each will have an effect. These choices will affect the story to a greater or lesser degree, but you can be sure that each of them will be a Conrad-like choice. None of the decisions will be easy and will leave a scar in the players' hearts. Ultimately, the sum of our decisions will lead to one of many endings, none of which will be unequivocally bad or good. Instead, each will be bittersweet... like life.
As you probably noticed, we have also removed 'simulator' from the name. This is related to the transformation of the gameplay, which has evolved in the production process over the past months. This reflects the fact that we want our game to be more than just a simple simulator, but also to tell the story of the people who, often against their will, were caught up in the events of the Chornobyl disaster. People who were confronted by Soviet totalitarianism with decisions that were not only difficult but also affected the fate of others. Decisions based on truly Conradian choices.
We hope that we can count on your support and that you will like our new development direction!
From a gameplay point of view, this also gives players a choice in the way they approach the problem of extinguishing the flames. After all, one can fight the fire by extinguishing the periphery of the fire, or deal directly with extinguishing its source.
What do you think? Which way will be more effective?
At the same time, we would like to inform you that we are back to publishing regular developer updates so that you can keep up to date with the progress of Chernobyl Liquidators. And we assure you, there is a lot to look forward to!
If you haven't yet added 'Chernobyl Liquidators' to your wish list, now is the best time. And if you are not yet sure if this game is for you, you can check it out by playing the demo on the Steam platform.
Enjoy!
